  • This is epic. What's the songs name?!

  • Wow!! It´s awesome... :)

  • That's hypnotic, I love it.

  • Cool! (*^^*)

  • TU PEUT LE FAIRE AVEC UNE GUITARE ?

  • neat - i love prepared piano

i did an animation once to one of cage's

    prepared piano pieces

  • awesome... love it

  • That's really easy to listen to. At the beginning, I was like "it's gonna be a video full of unpleasant noises" but it got better.

  • whats the name of the song??

  • This is the first time I've heard something like this, very cool!

  • It's a cool idea with the thing in the piano, but enough with the rolling 7 already. It sounds like he's really just dicking around

  • Unique and entrancing C:

  • I really like how it sounds quite unique a good break from the regular mold of classical piano good to have a break from time to time, refreshing.

  • this was great

    vole' T

  • haha this is cool. we learned about prepared piano in western civilization last year [it covers changes in music and art also.] but the prepared piano song we had to listen to was TERRIBLE. this is actually pretty nice. it's just a kinda crazy idea to put stuff in the piano... but the sound effects are really interesting.

  • who is this guy?

  • I don't know why a lot of poeple hated it... I think it was really talented and I appreciated it...

  • i like the sound keep it up very aboriginal.

  • hm it started of great, and it wend down hill from there, eh, like now :) it's just bad

  • I really enjoyed that, like really im going to listen again

  • I love how the related videos are Rape Club- Japan and Bert and Ernie Gangsta Rap

  • genius!!!

  • Like the melody...wonder if it woulda sounded better without the medal things

  • Sounds good, but there was so much repetition that it made you not want to listen.

  • that sounds so cool, wonderful!

  • HEY, that sounds really cool

  • To me, it sounds very nice! Good job! Keep up the hard work! :D

  • very nice

  • wear can i find this music??

  • if he would be the first to do this, it would be quite cool.. but this exists for about 60 years or so.. and the things he plays arent special at all. nice tune but nothing special.

  • Looks like he's just sort of messin around up there. How did he get an audience for this?

  • I like the grand piano, very nice.

  • Nada nuevo, muy John Cage, pero con más Jazz

  • what does he put there on the strings, guys?

  • they are like weights

  • Iron bars to make the sound+strings resonate, thats why you get the 'spiky' sounds as I'd call it

  • He hooked up the piano with stuccato electronics to play a CD he recorded about a year ago. This is called Piano sync.

  • you have a crazy name

  • i liked it

  • =D love him

  • was that a ruler?

  • it's supposed to sound like the guitar isn't it?

  • Wow! That was fantastic.

  • That was brilliant. Just brilliant.

  • He's very talented but I found it a little boring. If he had of given it a more alive beat it would have made it a lot better in my opinion. but i know music isn't easy to write...

  • I'm not really into 'experimental' music... just a regular R&B fan... but I think this guy is cool... Using only a simple tool, and he creates a whole new sound... Whoever think a piano could sound like a Japanese musical instrument?

  • Brilliant. Fucking Brilliant.

  • Well that was... unique?

  • wow i didn't know you could do that to a piano. Sounds like 5 people are playing different things. very ingenious!

  • let's see you play it!

  • yayya

  • this sounds like one of the styles of music the tin hat trio does.

  • @Mechanis, exactly what I thought as I listen to this, it remind me of Final Fantasy series.

  • Sounds like epic.

  • heh, sounds cool. like something out of an RPG game. 5 stars

  • exactly.

  • This is genius, but I must say, it does not show much appeal to those who are ignorant...

  • hmm... does anyone know what he placed into the piano?

the music is interesting... but, perhaps a bit too much going on for my own taste.

    unique none the less.

  • I totally dig that unique sound. Some wierd sounding chords as well. Nice.

  • i'm sure this would sound better live

  • This is one of the weirder things I've ever seen someone do to a piano, but it has a unique, creative blend of timbres being produced. Very neat.

  • Pretty Vannilla.

Whatever he put in there didn't change the sound to much.

The Idea for placing things like that in a piano isn't a new idea.

John Cage was doing it back in the day and when he did it it actully had effect on the sound.

  • Que loco!

No sabía de la existencia de Haushka. Inmediatamente voy a informarme.

  • there are a number of papers on physical modeling of the piano, and this would make an interesting twist, perhaps more forgiving too for a while: adding different virtual objects weighing down on the strings

  • holy fuck that man can play

  • Very Interesting!

  • interesting!

  • Albert Einstein is correct in saying ...

"THE HUMAN DULLNESS HAVE NO END"

  • fantastic!!

  • credo sia fantastica come idea... daltronde il pianoforte è uno strumento a percussione

  • erm...interesting

  • Am I just not cultured enough to appreciate what he is playing? :(. Because It is kinda Meh to me...

  • not to be rude but yes. it is extreamely challenging what he is playing and those things he put in he probably thought up which give the peice a new and interesting sound.

  • Do You mean the musical piece? or do you mean his set up? or do you mean playing a piano? you're being quite vague. The sound doesn't pique my interests at all...

  • matter of taste. it reminds me of a gmae i used to play so thats why i like it.

  • meh

  • haha

i don't really like the word 'cultured' but i guess to appreciate it you have to understand it in the context of musical experimentation. what he's doing is taking something that John Cage did and putting in a tonal setting, which is kind of cool if you are aware of it. As a stand alone piece of music, it has definite shortcomings. A lot of it is people just trying new things so that someone else can take the concept and do something really cool with it in some other way.

  • You're smart! : )

  • wow... really incredible!

  • I think its fantastic. theres nothing new under the sun, but as a piano player, I find this pretty original. I'd definitely pay to see the performance.

  • Interesting sound like a player piano which were high strung upright soundboards were they a chorus type piano as well with the octaves on each note? but don't know if I would want to pay to see this? My seat is cheap here on youtube though....

  • It´s an old trick, and a very old chord progression too....

  • A disgrace to every traditional piano player. I think I would get murdered for ever doing something like this. All in all, I love the sound and give the guy props for creativity!

  • You don't know what you want, do you?

  • YES

  • It sounds cool and your a little confused but its just a style. there are other pieces that are played on a "prepared piano".

  • There have been plenty of times in history when somebody would have been "murdered" for doing something new. See where it has taken us?

Change isn't a bad thing... It's just that some people don't want to accept it.

  • hmm, nice gimmick

  • i really like prepared piano - i was watching a documentary about the history of the harp they went right up to modern stuff and it featured a short duet of harp and prepared piano does anyone know if it was this guy who was featured in that program? it was on bbc i think - long shot but still

  • nice work, curios about your upcoming album :)

  • well sounds interesting. not bad at all

  • Good video!

  • i really like this

  • It looks like he just dumped a ruler into the piano... its alright sounding though... but its not 'that' great

  • Isn't that the sort of way musical innovation comes? The first intentional electric guitar distortion was caused by stabbing a pencil in the middle of a speaker.

  • Brilliant. What else can you play? I want to here more. That really was very good.

  • im sorry to say but this just sucks :(

and so do you, the person reading this :(

  • You're cool.

  • ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz...... Am I simply missing something here ? It rather amateur is it not ???

  • That was very interesting. :D

  • Bravo!

  • WONDERFUL!!!-I LOVE IT!!!

  • i think it's beautiful...

  • It almost sounds... Japanese. There's definitely an Eastern element to it. Amazing!

  • Sounds eccentric~

  • i like his style of playing piano =) thank u very much vor uploading it !

  • NICE!

  • i only like the begening

  • Lovely and emotive.

  • Why on earth....?

  • Boooooooooring.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! Sounds awful too

  • that noise was cool for the first 30secs then quickly became a gimmick and annoying after that!

  • No way man. He's using an E Bow on a piano. Fucking genious....

  • a little gimmicky- but ok

  • This is a good idea for use in PART of a song... but to base an entire piece off of it was... not good. I mean, it was clever in theory, but in practice it was actually sort of annoying.

  • exactly

  • thats pretty cool (:

  • In a part of the song it sounded like chaos, but it was controlled chaos.I don't know if that may make sense to some people, but oh well.

  • its not chaos if its controlled

  • he's an animal!

    bless youtube!

  • wow, I can get lost in this song!

  • Nice vid,, i think your a pothead tho in all respect.Cool tunes

  • muito bom. Piano é tudo de bom.

  • This is very unique, its also very fun to watch.

  • this is dope

  • i dont get it

  • very cool sounding song

  • interesting

  • awesome~
