Don't enroll at ETH Zurich! The arrogance from the staff towards students at this school surpasses anything you may imagine!!!!! I personally witnessed cases were students and PhD's (especially international ones) were treated like slaves and fired when they've reached their physical limits!

Yes it is. I am a research assistant with a pretty successful research group at ETH (for obvious reasons i am not going to specify any more details here...). We had a student last semester who was doing his master thesis in our group. The professor had him cleaning lab equipment all day so he had to stay until 3 am each day because he only had time to work on his thesis in the night. nobody dared to object him because people were fired in the past because of it...

Friends at other research groups told me of similar cases. A couple of years ago a PhD student even killed himself because of this. But because the ETH is a federal institution and they don't want any stains on their vest, they covered it up. If you want to know more about it you just need to google!
