  • So god told his mother to pray for her son because something bad is going to happen to him?

Why couldn't god prevent the accident from happening in the first place?

Or was god blackmailing the mother? You better pray and worship me or i'm going to kill your son.

Which ever way you look at this, god doesn't come out smelling like roses.

  • I took this guy's advice...years ago. I read the bible, and , as a result, i am now an atheist.

  • i am pagan the real and first religion

    blessede be

  • The person in the yellow shirt is on the right path. Like I said in part two, what's good for you is good you and what good for me is good for me ... Religious shouldn't be forced on you in any way. The ministers were not welcome and one could see that and in my opinion they should have left. It was a form of entertainment

  • What is said is the guy in the yellow polo claims to have "tested" the bible and found it to be true with "his heart". Yet when he talks about others not knowing god he says "maybe god has not spoken to you", as if NOW it is an objective claim that god exists.....because he "found in his heart" that god was real. In several hundred years from now I can only hope insane people will no longer roam the college campus.

  • i enjoyed your videos and especially the last one here he stood up spoke his peace and just walked away he wasnt hostile or rude he didnt claim that his religion was TRUE only true to HIM.....and hey even though i disaggre with him on that matter it doesnt matter.....and ya know what as for the nut jobs.....well....if hell exists.....they need to spend a week or so down there to see what there condeaming these people to and reevaluate there threat of hell so that well im not insulted anymore lol

  • Truth is a direction, not a fixed point on some map. inevitably people will find their own truths. My concern is simply to make sure that no ones version of truth steps on the right of others to persue the finding of their truth. Personally, I believe their is some kind of creative force in the shadows of our universe. I hold no allegiance to some god though and I feel the sacred thing is the ability of a human being to use it's own mind to decide it's own truths. That's worth dying for.

  • i agree, read all the books. especially the ones about kundalini awakening & transcendental meditation.: )

  • I'm not impresses by the young christian guy. The bible also says that Jesus died for the sins of humanity and when he died it would bring peace all through out the world. When has there ever been peace in the world? Christians are waiting for there jesus to fly down and save there souls, and its sad because if you actually do read the bible you will see how rediculous the stories are and how "god" contradicts himself time and time again. It's just fucking insanity!!!!

  • An intelligent person knows that they are incapable of drawing a conclusion regarding religion. To boldly define yourself as a theist or an atheist is to believe without definitive proof; regardless of which path you've chosen. If it were proven law, such as gravity, the truth about gods would just be common knowledge. But there is no way to know for sure, and making such a claim is arrogant. But I suppose claiming ignorance is too unsettling for most humans, who need something to grasp.

  • @omnipotentobserver To boldly define oneself as an atheist is not believing something without definite proof. All atheism is saying is that the "evidence" for the existance of a deity is not good enough and therefore the only rational thing to do is to reject the claim. You're talking about gnosticism. They're not mutually exclusive.

    -------

"True to me" is a dumb excuse. Either it's true or it's not, it's not a matter of personal choice if you care whether your beliefs are actually true or not.

  • the younger guy was a true Christian. He used his heart to guide him in a world that is full of those who only believe in Christ because their afraid or wana justify their hate.

  • ya know god's probably up there right now looking down on humanity..........and laughing his ass off

  • And also, how do I test the Bible? Ask my Mum to pray for me, while I deliberately have a car crash and see if I survive?

  • So Christians don't die in car crashes? I enjoyed your other two vids, and I have the same conclusion... The only "conclusion" you're suggesting is that perhaps there is a God and He saved this guy. My conclusion is that there is no God and random people die every day from all kinds of accidents and diseases regardless of their faith. This, is a fact. I don't see how you can claim everything else that was said on the day was crazy, and yet still give any credit to this guy's claim.

  • @HitchardDawkens I agree. Well said.

  • I know this is pretty old videos but I really enjoyed the hell out all. Great job and thank you for that!

  • I think that younger Christian is a complete retard. I am not the least bit impressed by his different method for bullshit spreading.

Also consider that if you actually do believe the insane shit of religion then you should logically be compelled to save every single person you can from eternal torture.

Either something is true or it isn't. The younger guy was full of shit.

  • I'm glad that in the end of the videos there was a message of tolerance towards religion. Hateful Christians do not mean Christianity is bad, and I find Atheists can be frustratingly dogmatic towards me as a person of faith myself. Never have I condoned the use of religion of any persuasion as viable excuse for hate, intolerance, discrimination, or brainwashing.

  • Together and United under Atheism right? The problem is not everyone who wants everyone to get along is Atheistic. It's not that strange that a Christian would say something smart. Preachy Atheists preaching about evil preachy Christians.

  • It was very wrong for that girl to run her hand down his back in that manner; at 1:02 on the clock. If he did that to her, she'd sprint to the nearest police station. What a wonderful intelligent statement from that much younger Christian; whatever you may think of his theology, it was all achieved without confrontation or hate, and the other guy could learn a lot from him. JUST A THOUGHT: Were they a double act? Good Saint, Bad Saint?

  • Ha, Ha, you are just too cute. No one should have to have all that hate thrown at them in the name of anything.

  • Actually the most intelligent thing said that day was right after the preacher said "Women are not equal to men," one of the men near the camera person said "on a college campus!" THAT was the most intelligent thing uttered that day.

  • I don't want to see their nuts!

  • I knew some catholics once, who after reading the Bible didn't stay catholic. The ideal of telling an ordinary man (your priest) your sins,,and calling him father. Where in the Bible does it tell us to do this?

  • just becouse he is alive does not prove anything

  • ss or the bible didnt happen

  • If god was real and he relied so strongly on whether or not we believed in him to go to hell or heaven he wouldn't have given us free will.

  • cant believe i even started to watch this bullshit. so fuckin gay.

  • the perfect religion would be a religion that admits its own mistakes, have common sense, brings peace, accept modernized values, bring people together, accept people for who they are, abolish hatred, have a positive message that people will take by heart, and other shit that i'm not smart enough to come up with to make the ultimate religion. chirstianity has good philosophy in it but they did a lot more harm than good throughout history imo.

  • There is no perfect religion. They all contain delusions

  • @HONDAB Sounds like you should be on my team, friend. lol

  • that intelligent thing said is merely a ploy to draw you into his crap.

  • I took your advice, and I found Wicca. :3

  • @NeverForgetRachel How odd... Of all the things to choose for yourself, you had to pick the most absurd of them all.. Not counting cults, of course. Oh well, atleast mass suicide isn't part of your books.

  • I believe in the spaghetti monster!!!

  • I did read through a lot of the bible and prayed many times seeking "the truth" I have to confess here and now that I believe the christian religion, Islam, and judaism to be total and utter BS!

  • I think the biggest lesson that the preacher could take away from that encounter should be the differences in how he was accepted verses the way the other person was accepted. Everyone stopped and listened to the young man tell his story and make his points. Everyone told the preacher to shut up and heckled him constantly. If he were to see this footage of himself now, I would hope that he would see how he united a campus AGAINST his religion and consider changing tactics.

  • look i beleave when we die god will grant you a never ending dream based on your life so see i live in my own little religion cool hey

  • read the satanic bible!

  • folks this is an old style trick......good guy actually back ups bad guy,,,,,,

  • man it seems like that cat just got the floor because even in that outfit he's the most thugged out lookin kid there, i'd be telling him that Jesus is not real just like that other guy.

  • Good video, you have to be principled, its like politics, we as a nation acted as sheep, did not do our research and put people in office that should not have been. We have to vote on principles, not party. I'm kind of an paleoconservative, but I differ on many other things that supports, such as religion.

  • Oh, I didn't know this. Where can I convert? I mean, you really convinced me, because if you say it is true, how could it not be?

  • what you are trying to find is just information, you have the potential yourself to be happy, its all a state of mind, and if this helps you reach a good state of mind then go for it...but to be honest there are much better and deeper books you could read, that will give you more valuable information.

  • I dont buy into the "true for me" idea. There is one reality that exists regardless of your opinion. This reality does not include a god. This conclusion can be drawn from the logical premise of a lack of evidence. I could say "the 4th moon of jupiter caused your sex life" and challenge you to disprove it, but you aren't logically called upon to do so.

  • Thanks for the footage

  • ...People like this ruin my day. Their minds are soooooo limited and frail to shards of reality. They literally cannot grasp anything going on in the real world.

  • How many Bible -thumpers actually READ what they're thumping? This guy is the only TRUE Christian in this whole Video trilogy!

  • seriously, you have a good thought process and have a good non biased view. i looked at the religion i was born into and looked into a few others and came to my own conclusion and i don't believe there is a god. i hate people who preach like the 2 born agains were. i want intelligent debate. have a good one

  • I have made my own conclusion and ended up believing in many gods. I am pagan. And damn proud to be one. We dont hate on anyone. And we dont go out and try to cram our believes down ppls throats. I found these vids you made to be fun to watch. Thanx for posting them.

  • kudos to you, my beliefs differ but great to see you found something to believe in that makes more sense than christianity. not to mention all the pagans i have met were pretty level minded and well spoken. have a good one.

  • kudos sir. i watched all three and this is my fav and i know am subscribed to you!

  • where do i get the bible of the flying spaghetti monster?

  • where in the blue hell do you find these people? lol what church are they affiliated with?

  • there's no church affiliation. they're "born-again" christians. they say that they don't have a denomination, just that they're christians

  • read bible and go kill whoever believe in other gods.... yes bible is fukin awesome lets kill somebody who don't like my god. Or lets make sacrifice from dog or cat or whatever will be near even your sister or brother because thats written in bible. Read that crap and change the world even if it will mean christian terrorism, FIGHT FOR GOD and we will back to dark ages. Read and be brainwashed its so awesome to be dumb and dont know how world works. amen

  • The christians killed off the pagans so I really have to agree with your comment. Im pagan and you are so right about the dark ages cause thats what they did.

  • He's just as full of shit as the first bloke

  • Einstein on Buddhism

Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: It transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and spiritual; and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity. -- Albert Einstein If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism

  • I love the slight waver of a mostly repressed laugh in his throat when he told people to read the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

May the sauce be with you!

    RAmen

  • Tell you what, if you want to think Satan is out to kill you, if you want to think praying is going to stop Satan from killing you, I'm not gonna stop you believing that. I wouldn't call it "the most intelligent thing said" either but hey who am I to judge?

Where I draw the line is when your "faith" starts imposing itself on the civil rights of others. Take your interfering faith out of my government and we'll have no issues.

  • god is what ever you want it to be. if you choose to believe in a god, make sure it's a nice, mentaly stable god. a god

  • Thank you for doing this, for it says all that I have wanted to about these acts since the same people came to Murray State University. This is a great statement and challenge to anyone on either side of the religious line.

  • I wonder if the preacher learned anything...

  • Probably not.

  • No he didn't He still goes around doing this crap. What a loser.

  • That was interesting. that 'preacher' was nuts. i dont know if i should call my self a christian or an agnostic. I really appreciate what that guy had to say on the behalf of the normal christians out there.

  • Just say you are agnostic to the idea of Christianity until you are more certain of what you believe.

  • What's intelligent about that sanctimonious, American emotional movie style presented oration?

What is true to me, true to you? Something either has to be true or not. Now as for opinion and subjective experiences, yes, sure, thank you sir, I'll make sure I'll experience them and make up my mind.

Emotional pleading IS NOT a proper arguement. Sorry.

  • Truly, what bullshit...& then they cheer the ass...

  • What disgusts me is the children born into religion and are indoctrinated by adults to believe nothing other than that religion. They had no choice. They had no way to be openminded. Children are very impressionable, and thier abillity to reason was taken away by their own parents. Early childhood development is the most crucial period in a humans life. They learn the basics behind reality. Their parents knew this and exploited it, in order to force religion onto the innocent and impressionable.

  • I agree with your message and his.

Just look for yourself what you want to believe.

I'm not saying I'm religious, but also not saying don't believe in nothing.

As for me, I'm a agnostic (or whatever you spell it)

I don't know whatever there is, that's also the true meaning of the word.

But I think he has true courage to stand up say his believe and experiences.

  • in case u havent noticed this is a trilogy of videos mocking christianity . most of the ppl watching this r atheists an ur pathetic attempt at converting them is all in vain , cuz unlike u they have the ability to think an live for themselves, theyr the free thinkers who move the world to a bttr tommorrow.

  • Did DERBENJ miss the entire point of this video?

Don't believe what others tell you =/= listen to DERBENJ. lol.

  • Those words were not smart at all. He claimed God let him get into a car accident and that God told his mom??? Thats nuts!! How is that intelligent?

  • this is so useless.....really i mean why to provea point about something that doesnt surpass the satge of an hypothesis, just babbling and babling on each side each side trying to prove taht they have valid motives argumentes and reason......and for what? christians still preach you still dont believe i still dont believe, god is a decent amusement thats all, christian radical as hell can prove how convinced they are. and some atheist snobs can prove how rationally constructed they are.

  • The book of the flying spagetti monster is great and I now know the touch of his noodly appendage and await heaven of beer volcanos and stripper factories. R-AMEN!

  • yawn indeed, the bible is true because something happened and religion gave me the answer... doesn't mean its true.

  • @Manictwig you dont get it, its all in the process, in discovering religion or doubting it, you find out who you are.

  • @Manictwig hes saying its true to himself but that his truth isnt anyone else's truth

  • Personal testimony *Yawn*

Thanks for sharing the video... If that gets Christians to take the first step towards inspecting their own bible then it was worth putting on youtube.

  • He is the only true Christian on the video. People don't understand that its not about pointing the finger at other people's sin, but about finding a better way to live your own life.

  • Its closed minded to not accept other people have other opinions, im not a christian and Im ok with other people being christians. It does not effect me

  • I like what this person had to say about his own beliefs, and I like what you had to say about your beliefs. One thing I'm trying to do right now is find out about others' beliefs about who will be the best U.S. President and U.S. VP by asking questions of both sides. I haven't gotten very many responses yet, but at least I'm trying to get to the heart of the issues.

    PEACE

  • I do not think he looked at all sides equally. If god saved him from being killed that day god is also the one who put him in danger in the first place. People need to open there eyes and truly look at all sides.

  • Wise words thank you

  • I JUST NEW he was an airhead, as soon as I saw his big slapaface. And his conclusion makes it blindingly clear.

  • And that would be the most intelligent said all day? By someone who believes in magic? And supports blind faith in things that cannot be proved? "Ask yourself : Is this true within myself" What is that supposed to mean? Thing can not not "true in your heart" They are either true or are not true. You might be a bit less atheistic than you think....

  • That may have been the *nicest* thing said all day, but if it was a far cry from intelligent. He didn't come to his conclusion by reading or investigating the bible; he was brainwashed as a child and is still relying on superstition rather than thinking rationally. The outcome of his accident would have been the same whether his mama prayed or not. "Nice" Christians propagate the same nonsense as the "mean" ones.

  • @jonsonbrown I think brainwashed is a term that is abused so much. this christian actually spoke from HIS own point of view. if he was brainwashed he would have been doing EXACTLY the same thing the guy with the small bag would have done( judging people etc).don't use that term so lightly.

  • @jonsonbrown I myself am( and still) a christian and I hold evolution to be true because I ACTUALLY looked into it. I grew up with a FEW of the sam old( but most VERRRYY different) tactics in a chritian community. in the end I mad my OWN conclusions on the Bible and have begun to understand OTHER religions (hindu, buddhists, etc) than most people would and I even enjoy Biology. so don't use brainwashed lightly. if that were the case I would have been like the weird preacher guy

  • @jonsonbrown I got hit by a car and didn't die. My mom didn't know, nor did she pray to save me. I got lucky.

  • @Secundinius Fancy that!

  • @jonsonbrown He's a nice guy, earnest, superstitious and credulous. Not to be rude, but his mom was probably getting "messages" from god like that all the time.

    Intelligent? Meh.

  • She should have stoped him instead of just praying.

  • @jonsonbrown I agree; it is so saddening, however. :[

  • @jonsonbrown

Actually the outcome would have been dependent on how good the doctors were. But I agree, praying does absolutely nothing to fix anything, otherwise why would we still have AIDS and Cancer?

  • @jonsonbrown well said.

  • Read Proverbs

    that's all

  • i think you need to make a video highlighting the fallacous nature of creationism. Thunderfoot does it well enough but trying to explain it without scaring them away is how you pursuade.... Anyone know what class war is? : D

  • fallacous as in their arguements.

  • Religious civility: Being comfortable enough with own beliefs, to permit others their own. I have always said to Christians, believe as you will, but don't use your fear tactics on me, or I will strike back... and so here I am.

  • so if joshes mom hadn't prayed for him "god" couldn't have been bothered to save him? and even if the crap he was spoutin during his story was true, why don't he try giving some credit to his mom since if it wasn't for her praying "god" wouldn't have even bothered. that's what i hate about christians always happy to thank "god" for everything but never the person who really deserves it.

  • I've always wondered how they automatically think that it is the god in the bible who granted their prayer. It could just as easily have been Shiva. It does not in any way prove the bible is true if you believe a deity saved your life or whatever. ;)

  • ...ive never thought of that either and isnt Shiva the name of one af the elemental's that you can summon in Final Fantasy?

  • Shiva is also the supreme God in the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism.

  • I have a huge amount of respect for that man. Those were the wisest words I have EVER heard spoken by a Christian. It's not what you end up believing, it's how you end up believing it. That is the process that EVERYONE that has an ounce of respect for their religion or beliefs should go through. Questioning and reasoning is what makes us human. We are intelligent creatures and should start acting as such.

  • The support that they gave him AFTER hearing that he agrees with that idiot just proves that they are genuinely willing to listen to both sides of the story as long as you aren't being a jackass about it. This is why I can't wait to go to college. It must be great to be surrounded by so many intellectuals who can think for themselves. It sounds like such a wonderful environment. I only have a few years to go. :D

As for this guys speech...AMEN! That's from a proud non Christian.

  • Bandaids4ever; "they are genuinely willing to listen [...] I can't wait to go to college."

Um, don't have your hopes up too high on that, in my university I could only really discuss things over with like 5% of the population, or less. The rest wasn't interested in thinking things over except when it was for a grade.

  • Waita destroy What little hope I had left for humanity, MrFacet! :D

Ah well. It'll still be a wonderful opportunity to learn new things and grow as a person. If nothing else I'll come out wiser. I don't take back my "can't wait to go to college" statement I made earlier.

  • Tyre still exists, Jesus said it would be destroyed long ago. Fail. Jesus said he would come back before all the people from the generation then on earth were dead. Failed. God said that Iseral would be a "great nation". Failed.

  • back it up w/ scripture please

  • Genesis, Chapter No. 4, Verse No. 12 Chapter No.4, Verse No.17 failed Ezekiel 26 (according to mat 15: 21) failed 1 peter 1:5 failed James 5:8 failed Hebrews 10:7 failed Thessalonians 3: 13 failed john 21: 22 failed Mark 14: 62 failed.

  • how is this prophecy unfulfilled? Ge 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. Ge 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. what's this got to do w/ unfulfilled prophecy? i think you're just picking verses out the air to seem smart

  • God said that Cain would never settle or raise anything. He does, in fact he builds a city. I meant heb 10:37, which is failed so that one was my bad. But notice that even if you were right about those three, which you aren't there are still many, many examples of false prophecy in the bible.

  • but we found the truth in the 10% while you wonder about in your pride

  • That you claim that we have only ten percent implies that you have the other 90, or a source for that 90% you also claim that there is truth that there is a finite amout of it. This is intelectually dishonest and an invalid argument. Please stop making yourself look like an idiot.

  • sort of strange how my previous comments aren't on here now, hey?

  • I just like to see people passionate about things. Its really cool. It would be nice if people had more manners.

  • Very good video, very good message. Thanks for posting it!

  • This guy would probably hang himself in my school, 70% jewish 20% Muslim and 10% other mostly Athiests...so uh.

  • I hope this guy comes to my school, I need a good laugh

  • great vid + conclusion :)

  • Damn, you yanks sure have quality campus entertainment, I'd love for these guys to come to the uk so I could laugh my ass off between classes.

  • What that guy said was really cool...and I have to commend Brother Micah for rarely interrupting and letting the guy speak. I agree with the points I think you're trying to make in this video.

  • most of the spiritual memes humans have developed throughout history r pretty basic.

explantations of creation with an overlay of moral direction.

unfortunately these innocent ideas have to often been twisted and used to manipulate the people.

    thats my conclusion.

  • the only problem is i would be too embarrassed to buy dianetics or even check it out of the library xD

just kidding i don't give a shit, but the librarian will look at me weird though lol

  • whoa, that is so true

i m an athiast but hey!,

    ill read it

  • rock on. i agree with the message.(atheist)

  • Totally agree 5:05... i think that if u get pushed into a religion its Bullshit! thats wat happened in Norway and Poland hundreds of years ago! Personally ive Apostasized (behemoth and dimmu borgir RULES)... if u see him again ask him... "What do you think about The Apostasy? (And/Or) What do you think about what happened to poland and norway?"

  • Evangelists like the first two psychos needs to be stopped. Evangelisation is an ideaology for people who claim to have read and understand the Bible, who haven't actually read or understand the Bible in any way. If they had read it they would know that Yeshua the son of God (Don't know who this Jesus guy is, probably Gods landscaper)condemned evangelisation and organised religion (not organised faith, just the Church).

  • That was a great and very thoughtful conclusion, you'd make a great documentary-maker ala Michael Moore/Morgan Spurlock. That student's testimony was a world away from the hate-filled bile that was spewing from that other man. It's re-assuring to know that there are other religious people who are sensible enough to counteract the zealots.

  • excellent video, great message at the end.

if people can just be open-minded, they can find answers to just about any question.

it will also help people understand each other's beliefs, so that we can work towards tolerance.

I quoted you in a blog post this evening, that was seriously a very moving close to the video. So profound, true and just all-around great advice for everyone!

    Cheers,

    Quincy

  • Very well said, GodNonBeliever. I reached my conclusions about religion in the same way.

If only more people were capable of free thought.

  • well said!

  • nice video. with a amazing message

  • Usually people who use faggot or any similar slurs is gay themselves, and repressing it.

    So yes, he meant you.

  • that guy was very classy

  • you must come out of the closet, self repression is unhealty

...I'm refering to the gay slurr

  • i gotta hand to josh for saying what he said...There aren't a whole lot of people who would have had the balls or the knowledge to give a speech like that. oh yea and fuck brother micah

  • His speech was nothing but bs. He came to believe in the bible because of a story that makes little sense. If he was in a near fatal accident as he said he was the hospital would have called his mother and informed him before he could. Anecdotal evidence is no evidence at all. If anecdotal evidence is proof of the validity of one's faith, then all religion would have to be right since most of them claim to have personal anecdotal evidence.

  • i liked the speech, however, for him to think that god chose to save him, implying god HAS the power to intevene and save people, do you not think he would be doing so on a more regular basis? what about all the starving kids in the world? what about all the deadly diseases that kill infants, come on man, think about it.

  • utter non sequitor. you have no sense of logic. that is why jesus turning wine into water, coming back from the dead, and walking on water makes sense to you. Im not the one with the irrational belief. YOU are. I am not the delusional one. YOU are.

  • no watch The Naked Truth w/ Jordan Maxwell

  • Wow, other people like me exist :o. Wonderful, powerful, great message. Added to favorites.

  • bravo!! bravo!!

  • Wow, these videos are exactly the sort of thing I was planning to make in a few years...at Uni...in the UK...

  • Sir.. I salute you. We seem to have come to the same conclusions after using very similar methods. An excellent series.

  • You should post more videos like these.

  • Hey guys... this is my first time commenting on a video, and i wrote a long ass comment. Didn't know you have a 500 char limit, so i broke it up into pieces. its all right beneath this post... lemme know what you think

  • why is it, though, that people swing completely away from spirituality and into atheism simply because SOME religious people are crazy/irrational/haters. I was raised catholic, and have since decided that i dont believe in their dogma and heirarchy/control/political structure. I dont like their lack of spiritual growth-- in fact they restrict, rather than permit, growth. However, I have not become an atheist, I've just decided that God may

  • be the creative energy that forms what is manifested in this universe, not some fickle guy up in the sky who cant decide whether he loves you or wants to punish you. I believe that to even presume that "God" would be subject to human tendancies and emotions is completely anthropocentric/arrogant. Now, i woudlnt impose these beliefs on anyone else, but why is that many MANY ppl who denounce dogmatic religion straight up

  • decide that there must be no God, or nothing existing beyond this physical plane. They cite science and logic for this decision, but they overlook the fact that science is a man-made entity. There have laws of science that were proven wrong by later developments. I'm not against atheists, and theyre usually wayyy more normal and tolerant people than Christians, but I just cant fathom believing that there is nothing deeper than what we think we know/understand in our lives.

  • I also feel very strongly about two things:

    1) That science and spirtuality should confirm one another, not oppose. For example, Bible say we are of god and have our being "in god" and are all "of god" or something to that effect. Well, science has determined that everything is made up of atoms, or subatomic particles, and that the only real difference is how fast they vibrates or how it is charged, etc. Therefor, is it not clear that we are all "one" and that everything we call

  • matter is truly made up of the *same substance*, with only minor differences in how it behaves? If you agree with me on this, then it is easy to see how science and religion COULD confirm one another.

    2) That you must consider the translations of all religious scriptures, and that they have changed over time. For instance, In genesis they talk about the "word" and how it was god and was of god and blablabla.

  • . Well, we say "word," but the Greeks (way back when) used the term "Logos," which if you look a few things up about it, does not refer to a "word" (like, something you say/write) but rather something much deeper that does not even directly translate into another specific term. Look it up...even if you don't understand the meaning, keep in mind that the translations have changed this, and many other things, because not all languages translate perfectly into another.

However, I have not become an atheist, I've just decided that God mey be the creative energy that
