I think the movie should have been nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Score. I just love the way the scene between Mercedes and Edmond when he comes back after executing his revenge on Danglars and Villefort was filmed. the music is also beautiful. the violin solo when Mercedes says "No. He is in everything. Even in a kiss" is so romantic.
