The "circle married the line" is referencing sunrise/sunset (i.e., the round sun meeting the horizon). . . a beautiful way of reframing a daily event. Lots of clues to this in the song ("All I need is a horizon line" .... "first light was, last light was" ... etc.).
HA! I totally recorded music the way she did as a kid. And in Calgary too...I think we're even the same age. We're obviously soul sisters. That and we had a beer with one of my friends LONG LONG ago before the fame....I had no idea!
I love them both so much, and they have such a chemistry together. I think they should do a duo project, I mean, as far as I know, the only collaboration between these two was Rich dancing in Feist's video, but an album... Their two different genres blending together would yield unbelievable results!
wow wow wow : conversation at its best - real people really listening, and responding, and sharing. It puts the calulated circuitousness of Socratic dialogue well into the shade, and effortlessly elevates immediacy and mutuality into real discovery.

It's really awkward how he doesn't react to any of her answers but just kind of leaves her hanging. Lucky her intelligence over-shines that though.

Awkward. Was there an arrangement made where they agreed to spend the first half of the interview talking about the influence of CBC Radio?
