A LOT of movies owe props to this scene and its style of fighting. Bourne series, Taken, the new Bond flicks, Serenity (Firefly), Equilibrium, the new Batman films,the list goes on Great scene!
To be fair - this fight scene owes much to "From Russia With Love" and its brutal fight in the train carriage, later transferred into "Diamonds Are Forever" in the lift/elevator. It's a feature of James Bond that brutal fights take place in enclosed spaces. The room we see here is pretty confined.
@lancestarjumper Movies like that also take elements from the Bond movies as well, look at the Bourne franchise, there is a lot stuff Bourne does that Bond already did, people say Quantum of Solace is like a Bourne movie, I dont see the resemblance, but what you said about the fight scenes is true
This is my kind of fight scene. No wire fu, no flashy martial arts, no digital trickery; just two guys (actors and not their stuntmen) going at it with fists flying. Awesome!
Got to be one of the best fight scenes in a Bond movie - frantic, brutal and doesn't look slick or coreographed. The stairwell sword fight in Casino Royale is ok and the one half way through On Her Majesty's Secret Service comes close but the weird echo sound effects do it no favours.

Yeah Yeah, i'm a Wing Chun fighter, BUT, this fight is just AWESOME!
THIS is a REAL fight, and i love Pierce Brosnan \o/
i've watched many "fights" of ALL the types, including with Martial Arts, but THIS is the BEST FIGHT SCENE i ever seen

Which DVD is this version from? In the DVD I have (2002 collection) all the headbutts are cut which makes a diluted and erratic fight scene.
