  • in australia the abc aired the series in the late 70s and 80s. i have 2 episodes on video which i will upload soon when i have the gadgetry.

  • oh yes......I remember this kiwi´s serie :)It was broadcasted in my country_Czechoslovakia on Kanal 2(2.program) in early 80´s with excellent dubbing in Slovak language.

During the 70´s and 80´s there were many tv series for children made in New Zealand broadcasted in Czechoslovakia.

  • i watched this in Ireland when i was a kid. it was fairly bad but i don't remember any plot lines. i lived in NZ for a while and used to ask the kiwis about it but they had never heard of it. one guy who did remember it was actually from Singapore so we figured it might have been produced for the export market. or Kiwi.

  • Wasn't there an episode where the girl did a Ouija board, and the guys scared the shit out of her by rigging the glass so it moved?

  • I remember a creepy episode where a canoe with a skeleton on the prow keeps apearing from the mists and guys in Maori-style dress spook the locality. The bloke with the glasses was abducted by them and revealed as a convert to the cause when the masks were all pulled off Scooby-Doo style at the end

  • TomthatiscalledTom: I remember that episode too. They were some kind of radical Maori-rights organisation, and they rigged up the canoe with electric propellers on the oars (so that it could move quickly and quietly), and phosphorescent paint to make it glow, and an a sort of cable-animated skeleton that could move. If I remember, it was 2-part story. Very creepy when the phantom canoe came out of the mist at the end of Part 1!

  • I'm not mad. I DID see this! Phew.

  • Haha, I know how you feel. I wonder how some of those shows have become so obscure.

  • there was another kiwi show called' the mad dog gang'. i cant remember much about that either but there was a dog called 'rats guts' and i think the baddie character was called 'doobie dwyer'.

  • Always reminds me of an early 1980s summer holiday weekday morning on ITV when the shows like this were never networked.

  • OMG!How rare is this?? :)
