I left it out because as fast as Sonic can get through that stage, Knuckles can get through it even faster. These are all short stages where Sonic can beat the intended character.
(That and I was already beholden to a time limit corresponding to the play length of Frozen Running, so there was no more time to fit extra stages in.)
If you spindash toward a wall, jump, and bounce immediately before hitting the wall, the horizontal momentum you take into the wall translates into vertical momentum off the bounce.
A goofy little thing--when Sonic plays hunting 2s, the goal ring is always active, without having to get hit. So for example, in Pumpkin Hill he can do 35-back ring-35-back ring-30, which isn't even in the realm of possibility for Knuckles.
Hey, have you ever tried using the always Sonic/Shadow/Knuckles/Rouge code for Cannon's Core? I tried but couldn't get past the first door because you have to blow up the dynamite packs with a gun. Have you ever figuired out how to bypass that, with or without moon jump?
Also using always Mech Tails/Eggman for cannon's core renders me stuck in Sonic's section. Any advice there?
One more thing. Try Always Knux on City Escape and tell me what happens (I don't need a video)
With Sonic, I've managed to fall under the first door; this would indicate that level would be completable with the help of moon jump if I actually had that code.
CC-S may not be doable with shooters, but try hover jumps and maybe even damage boosts to see if you can cross that way, and remember there is a fake wall on the other side if you get high enough.
Putting Knuckles into other stages is generally just a waste of time. I have completed City Escape 4 as Tails, for what that's worth.
Always? It must be Dreamcast, because on the gamecube, there is a code that allows you to hold a button and you can enter a stage with a certain character based on the button you pressed. Sadly, Knuckles won't work in the GC version of City escape, because the screen turns to wierd red polygons (like broken glass) and the game freezes...yet Eggman and Tails work just fine in that level and Obviously Shadow.
Hmm Interesting XD I wish i could do that! I noticed though, sometimes the level counts your second as minuets or something (4 seconds = C rank?!?!) Oh wait XD maybe because you needed more then time for the a! Opps XD Stupid me!
Any time less that 1:01 scores the maximum possible time bonus of 10000, and that's the limit to which time can influence rank in 1/4/5. No mission 1 has an A rank requirement less than 12000.
In Death Chamber, Sonic ends up in a spot where he isn't able to go to the goal because he is unable to dig through the walls to get from room to room. In Mad Space, he pretty much ends up dying, from what I'm told.
Worse than that--Sonic starts in the void at the middle of the pyramid core, and will fall on the center of the spikeball structure if left alone. You can move, but not far enough to reach the actual underwater room, and an inevitable fall out ensues. If Sonic started above ground in the center room, Death Chamber would easily be possible.
In Mad Space you start below everything; even below the kill plane so it's an endless fall.
Wild Canyon is incredibly easy; you start by one of the short pillars and just have to bounce up a level and run to the goal ring. It's not included because even though Sonic can get a low 2, Knuckles is of course even faster on that level.
Prison Lane Sonic falls just short of being completable. You can see the goal ring but can't get through the last door blocking the way. I thought I made a Prison Lane 3 video (0:56.90), but it turns out the last segment didn't get written to disc for some reason so I can't use that.
ternal engine must be so funny :)

How did he do that dash thing?! I wanna learn how to do that!

Don't forget 3:01!

SadisticMystic 2 years ago
@SadisticMystic wait, what? i still dont get it? so you spin dash, then jump, then bounce, right before you hit the wall?
And also, how did you do 3:08-3:10 ?
micahhh99 2 years ago
Yes, it's nicknamed the super bounce, and it lets you do good things.
3:09 is just a regular spindash jump.
SadisticMystic 2 years ago
@SadisticMystic I like to call it the Cannonball Jump. lol But Spindash Jump works too.

Is the game designed to plant Sonic in point 0x 0y 0z (cardinal position), or is it based on the levels geometry?

You know that the best way to play Knuckles and Rouge stages with Sonic is to play on Mission 2.
Of course you are only showing short stages.
Just thought I would point that out.

You make a good point. However when I played Wild Canyon in M2 I tried to get as many rings as possible the first time thenn go for goal ring.
