Dance of the holy man (aka Simon Belmont's theme in future less good castlevaniaz) is in my opinion the very best song of the Castlevania serie. If you guys want the real and best version of this song it's in Super Castlevania IV on super nintendo.
<--- just listened to "Simon Belmont Heavy Metal" by Naoto Shibata (uploaded by devilblemont).
Hmm. It's... ok... it's just all on a synthesizer, and lacks a real "gritty" feel until you hear just a LITTLE freestylin' at 2:30... for like 5-10 seconds. The rest is pretty weak. In the case of synthesized stuff, I'd rather hear WillRock07's.
The Neskimos one is very, very slow on the move & is putting me to sleep. But it's true... we all have opinions, and that's what makes variety so cool!
I think covers and remakes just don't quite cast the feeling exactly as it should be presented.
For instance. You know how the first answer you give on a test is usually the right one?
Well I think the author's instincts on the original were so dead on, that almost nothing I've heard so far comes close to the almost natural/divine greatness of the first.
But NOTHING' says C-Vania like the 7 Deadly Bits (Dan Legge) version!! People seem to dig it overall... but yup, everyone has their opinions--that's fair.
really man this game series are a legend you should really play them. and if you get a chance play the old ones for nintendo and super nintendo if you got the consoles
No problem. I sure liked finding all these killer renditions! It also made me realize that I *WASN'T* insane back in the day when I was telling people that the music from NES games like Zelda, Rygar, C-Vania and Metroid... were actually some pretty damn excellent "scores" by talented composers... despite the "boop-boop-beep" styles of the old MIDI stuff or whatever... :)
Thanks! Yeah I LOVE it... :) It's basically a cover done by someone I found online called "Seven Bit", and then I mixed it with the Dracula X version... while also doing a "higher pitch" version of Seven Bit's stuff in the background a bit too...
Vampire Killer is done in a similar fashion, although I can't remember the folks I grabbed the electric guitar stuff from. I used two unrelated covers... and mixed them! And naturally, a little of the Dracula X stuff... :)

There is a reason why they put Super in front of Castlevania IV, because they knew that these songs will kick so much ass they just had to.

It's okay - not great, but okay. There's too much discord between the applied tracks.
Personally, I'd stick with devilbelmont's Simon Belmont Heavy Metal Version, or a longer rend of Simon's Theme by the NESkimos.

Really? Well, everyone has an opinion I guess--I don't hear much "discord" between the tracks... what I hear sounds sexy good.
I will try listening to these other renditions you suggest... I always like hearing new stuff.

I still favor the CV-IV version

Did you just take the Dracula X Chronicles version of Vampire Killer and place it in the background? :/

Not exactly, but yes, that's the general jist of it. I explain this in the "details" section to the right.
