You should look at the matches he and his brother Joe Malenko wrestled in New Japan Pro wrestling. You should also check out his matches in the Original ECW. He and chris Benoit were part of the Original Triple Threat with the Franchise Shane Douglas. Also check out his matches with the Late Great Eddie Guerrerro..
i HAVE SEEN MOST OF THEM AND THEY ALL WERENT IN THE SAME TIME PERIOD OF 1996/97 JPThunder said that one year was legendary...nobody is a legend based on one year... but thanks for trolling !
Kevin Nash aka Diesel won the WWF Intercontinental, WWF World Tag team Titles and WWF World Heavyweight Title in one year. Bill goldberg went from a Former Atlanta Falcon to a Man who won 173 consecutive Matches, became the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion and WCW World Heavyweight Champion within the span of one year. If I recall, last year CM Punk became a World Heavyweight Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion in less than 1 year.
umm.... a winning streak is still scripted...and goldberg or cm punk are a long way from being legends ! popular YES ..legends..NO. can you really compare a goldberg and cm punk to an ..arn anderson, or terry funk or mick foley or harley race. my point was, no one becomes a legend because of one years work !
Yes, all of these are storyline. If you want reality, that is why we have Professional Boxing and MMA. Those are athletic contests without pre-determined outcomes. Arn Anderson, Terry Funk, Harley Race and Mick Foley built their reputations wrestling for a lot of different wrestling promotions and many times did not even make enough money for that match to even pay for the gas they used to drive there.
Malenko was great when he was first brought in to WCW. No nonsense, just get in the ring and get the job done (and put on a hell of a match in the process) . His feuds were built on his matches rather than mic work, and thats the way it shouldve stayed. Once WCW started jobbing him out for no apparent reason around Starcade 97 and giving him mic time which he wasn't very good at it started going downhill.
That version of the Horsemen would have been light years better had they not had Mongo McMichaels on the team. He was an embarassment to them and to wrestling in general. He couldn't wrestle and couldn't talk.
Anyway, Malenko was a fantastic wrestler. I did and would still pay to see him work any day over a no talent stiff like Kevin Nash.
pure inring skills offcourse malenko is way better than nash, but you cant compare them
nash is a genious, he has the looks, he is big, strong, and its not that he doesnt have talent, he's not an idiot like luger or ultimate warrior, nash is great on the mic too :)
The legendary mid-to-late 90s WCW cruiserweight division begins and ends with Dean Malenko.

I am a huge fan of Arn Anderson. When he beat Hulk Hogan, that was his biggest victory in his career. Loved the 80's and early 90's wrestling

Arn Anderson to me is what made the 4 horsemen. Flair may be the figure head, and rightfully so, but Arn was the backbone of the stable.
