WoW is dying, it has been proven. In nine months they lost 1 million subs, I quit a few months ago. The game was boring, same things every day. I can not wait until GW2 comes out.. Looks so much better than WoW and I believe that it will be something fresh and new, so people might have a hard time adjusting from WoWs childish layout and graphics. Sure GW2 might be free to play, but they will have plenty of expansions released and other things like that to rake in the revenue.
They are both great, but WoW will always be more popular, just because of the great feel the game has. That being said, if it doesn't get a huge upgrade soon, it will slowly start to lose subscribers. Actually, it already has.

WoW vs GW2 ah? lets see WoW: expensive(high monthly fee - 1year of wow now can buy you GW1 with all extras and shit); 2 - WoW made 7 fine years but nothing "new", ye new story, new classes but its still the same game, eaven more, now its less fun than the start - much easyer. GW2 will be realy new stuff compared to GW1; 4 - for the bored players that have played mostly wow till now GW is a whole diferent league and thats why GW2 will get quite a population directly from WoW.

You can't really compare a game that's not even out to a game that came out almost 7 years ago. WoW made its name as the best game OF ITS TIME, but has since been on the decline. GW2 will hopefully bring the next wave of MMOs, a new generation where mistakes of the past generation are fixed. Until that time comes, people need to stop making these pointless videos.
I say this as a die hard GW player and one of the most devoted GW2 followers.
It is like being born on a video game system, say the N64. Now, lots of people would say those games suck and it's crap and go die but anyone who was born in that time frame will always love the N64. I will always love mine even if it's outdated and the graphics suck but I was hooked and so I will ever-be. Just please realize all I am saying is the "general interest of the population" isn't interested in the core (non cataclysm) game anymore (WoW or for that matter Guild Wars)
I played the frozen throne from blizzard and I love the game, don't get me wrong. Blizzard has a good game, (I said it was a gem). Like I said before all the players who may still play it are the hardcore players who love the game (I am not hating on them) but what I am saying is that the population has reached a point where many to most hardcore players play and therefore has reached the stage of a "gem."
Thorsalech, I didn't say WoW sucked, I just said it has had it's time. Like all games (Runescape for example) die after a while. I will even admit that Guild Wars 1 is dead, lots of players have abandoned the game
The warcraft games came out in the 90's. Good for it's time, the game succeeded. Blizzard realized they had a winner so they kept on pushing new games and expansion packs. Blizzard did NOT realize is that now it's 2011 and their once gem is now a dusty remembrance. They don't want to make a new engine, all they want to do is push the money out of WoW if they can. This is why WoW will be blown away by an entirely new engine/ground-breaking game; Guild Wars 2

GW2 will be the new standard for all MMO's to come, and it WILL take the crown from WoW. GW2 is just newer, better designed, and an all around breath of fresh air from WoW. WoW is by every means a successful game, and it belongs in the hall of fame for the run that it had. Unfortunately, WoW has dug itself into a rut that it cannot get out of, and it will be shown up by Arena's flawless new kid on the block. WoW is boring, that's that.
Just to tell you... I played the previous Guild Wars game, and they were so crap....I almost died. Literally. But, I guess, Guild Wars 2 looks good, but looks dont matter. It's the gameplay that matters. I play WoW, but even if this comes out and I decide to get it, I will still carry on with WoW, because I've played it since the beginning.

That is a completely flawed argument as many of the people on this planet don't play games at all, but most of those that do, will play wow.

Underwater combat - check it out - it's amazing! Talk about inovation. It's not just the dinamic events that are being introdused - it's everything! ArenaNet it changing 60-70% of the tipical MMO style. Haters can just hate- thats all they can do. And you know what? I would rather have wow to keep all of it's player base. WoW is horrible compared to GW2. I have seen my friends play it on with max graphics, and I'm not impressed. And who cares about mounts? Everyone can spend the rest of their lives playing WoW JUST for the mounts. That is everyone who actually plays it, and I feel bad for the 65 year old parents that have to keep their jobs till they die just so they can make their passive aggressive 40 year child happy. You can't really compare a game that's not even out to a game that came out almost 7 years ago. WoW made its name as the best game OF ITS TIME, but has since been on the decline. GW2 will hopefully bring the next wave of MMOs, a new generation where mistakes of the past generation are fixed. Until that time comes, people need to stop making these pointless videos.
I say this as a die hard GW player and one of the most devoted GW2 followers.

It is like being born on a video game system, say the N64. Now, lots of people would say those games suck and it's crap and go die but anyone who was born in that time frame will always love the N64. I will always love mine even if it's outdated and the graphics suck but I was hooked and so I will ever-be. I played the frozen throne from blizzard and I love the game, don't get me wrong. Blizzard has a good game, (I said it was a gem). Like I said before all the players who may still play it are the hardcore players who love the game (I am not hating on them) but what I am saying is that the population has reached a point where many to most hardcore players play and therefore has reached the stage of a "gem."

The warcraft games came out in the 90's. Good for it's time, the game succeeded. Blizzard realized they had a winner so they kept on pushing new games and expansion packs. Blizzard did NOT realize is that now it's 2011 and their once gem is now a dusty remembrance. They don't want to make a new engine, all they want to do is push the money out of WoW if they can. This is why WoW will be blown away by an entirely new engine/ground-breaking game; Guild Wars 2

Just to tell you... I played the previous Guild Wars game, and they were so crap....I almost died. Literally. But, I guess, Guild Wars 2 looks good, but looks dont matter. It's the gameplay that matters. I play WoW, but even if this comes out and I decide to get it, I will still carry on with WoW, because I've played it since the beginning.

Underwater combat - check it out - it's amazing! Talk about inovation. It's not just the dinamic events that are being introdused - it's everything! ArenaNet it changing 60-70% of the tipical MMO style. Haters can just hate- thats all they can do. And you know what? I would rather have wow to keep all of it's player base. Everyone can spend the rest of their lives playing WoW JUST for the mounts. @Hermasuarus lol, 1. you are lost in nostalgia, gw2 will never compare to wow no matter how much it upgrades it's graphics. 2. wow has horrible graphics?? wow's graphics have soo much detail implemented into them....you're insane, just because the graphics aren't "realistic looking graphics" dosen't mean they aren't gorgeous..3. gw lore is gay...gw was gay. 4. the system req for gw2 are going to be very high, and gw2 is going to have MAJOR BANDWITH ISSUES. 5. u mad because you can't afford wow;)

@darkrai9000 Guild Wars 1 had sold over 6 million copies which is more than the half of 11 million if you can do the math. Also drugs are more than popular. Only in the USA do 40 million people take them. Does popularity mean quality?! Every decent/smart person knows that it takes more than numbers to make something great. The best things are those that you remember and take to heart, not the things that make you and other 23 people w8 45 min for 1 specific character...

@darkrai9000 I did "look shit up" and i found facts pointing towards wows old recycled addictive methods, for making people pay for it every month. WoW sucks compared to Guild Wars 2 and i don't care how many illogical, immature people like you play that game. It only has negative sides to offer, unlike GW2, so you go and "look shit up" before you make yourself a fool again. And once more: just because it's popular doesn't mean is the best. Think for a second and you'll see what i mean.

@TheSupremeLeader1 let everyone play the game they enjoy ok? even though i dont like wow very much, i just realized lvling and the so called proffessions aree grind fests that never end, each day do the same thing, so im leaving it, i dont want to overhype gw2 cause no game can ever live up to the hype, itll be a very great game with tons of subs.
