no doubt that lots of Philippines are great singers but most of them gain their name by singing English songs from Hollywood unlike Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Indonesian and other countries in Asia that mostly uses their mother tongue.

@RainDeeJanszen I think either they gained their name in two ways. First, they won singing competitions where they sang english or filipino songs. songs that will really challenge them. Second, they started out with their own filipino albums and joined tv variety shows. From there, they sing all sorts of songs.

so maybe, i can reverse what you said. why don't singers from other countries go out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves to sing foreign songs?

Asia has so much talent..it's about time we patronize our own artists, we've been bombarded with too much western music..we always conform to the standards of the west..i think it's enough already. Asia is big, we could create a potential market here. It's been tough for asian artists to make it in the US..if they won't make it there then we'll do it here.koreans have started their journey.they've proven it's possible. Asians are music lovers it doesn't matter if we speak different languages.
