  • thanks for uploading all these documentaries fascinating

  • 03:50 - can you see the face?

  • мы, русские, на самом деле эти дробленая немцы да американцы также борьбы с ними, но мы те, кто дал самый большой вред,

  • Oh, and the Germans did use rape. They generally just shot their victims after wards.

  • @ObssesedNuker they say that is a big part of terrorism today, since Muslims are probably the most sexually repressed people on Earth, and if only 23 year old suicide bombers and beheaders could meet a nice girl and have a relationship of equals - not master/slave as is the case in Islam, the whole idea of Jihad and murder becomes less appealing. That's a good point about the USSR, I bet a whole society of fear does have some real long-term impacts on a people.

  • @cantroos It isn't a master/slave relationship. The role of woman in Middle Eastern Islam is only slightly more restrictive than the role of woman in Medieval European Christianity (which is still hugely totalitarian from a modern point of view, its why they call it the Dark Ages). When Islam first got started, it actually was rather egalitarian in its treatment of woman, but I guess pre-Islamic Arab cultures managed too get back in there and influence it towards sexism.

  • Germany's great shortcoming was their feeling of invincibility., and of course, Hitler making the final orders!

  • great videos Mr. Houston

  • see both the Nazis and the Soviets were pure evil so who are you supposed to root for in a battle like this????!?? Oh the horror. They say 1/3 women living in German territory occupied by the Soviets were raped by Russian soldiers.

  • @cantroos he army of Hitler (Hitler, the great Satan was defeated by, among other heroes of the Red Army. As for my people (I'm in the Soviet Union born) heroes of the Red Army in Germany, the land of the Devil and Evil have done German citizens were all these murders and rapes were real heroes deeds. Some people have forgotten what the Germans have done to the other in the Second World War. What I am saying that the soldiers of the Red Army were out for revenge.

  • @antonioveraa but they were just as evil as the nazis, killing millions of Poles, Finns, genocide against ethnic groups in their own borders. Hitler and Stalin should always be mentioned as co-workers in evil. It's certainly not cut and dry as to a Soviet victory being a better outcome than a German one in the East. It would probably be much better for humanity if the USSR was completely destroyed and then Germany was beaten by the Western allies.

  • @cantroos No cantroos Soviet Union were good.

In North America there are millions of Indians were wiped out in most horrible way they are forced to live in reservations girls and women were raped.

In pregnant women were unborn their unborn child with a knife in the belly of their mothers removed, their water was poisoned by white settlers later, these settlers "cowboys" in films like heroes depicted while the occupiers, thugs, thieves and Indians, were portrayed as the bad.

    Part 1

  • @cantroos Yet in the last century in the sixties were black people as inferior labeled that had fewer rights while here in the Soviet Union all races and peoples were equal before the law.

Or think of millions of civilian victims in North Korea, Vietnam and many suffered from the napalm bombing of millions of people were burned alive or maimed. Part 2

  • @cantroos Or dioxin that bombing innocent people were massacred as vermin to the day that each day children are born without skin, or sometimes with their heads three times larger than their bodies. And in North Korea was precisely the same verhaal.Of remember the invasion of Iraq, where more than one million civilians were slain.

  • @cantroos Whether the funding and creation of terror like rigorism the contras in Nicaragua, Angola, Iran, or financing and creation of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan or Saddam Hussein in power to help and I can continue. Then I ask myself what k should be set aside for the improvement of mankind.

  • @cantroos we cant blame them, we're men, and those guys were probably over 2 years without having sex, and lets not forget the feeling of revenge

  • @55runescaper wow what a disgusting position to take, so you're saying being a rapist just comes naturally when you've not been with a woman for a long time? That's some pretty scary reasoning, maybe even sociopathic. Revenge is part of it, but the whole Russian cultural mindset just places zero value on human life and dignity, even today in Russia awful violent crimes, and most importantly random ones - teens kicking a homeless guy to death in the park etc., are daily occurances.

  • @cantroos ur not getting the point, those guys were living in hell, u obviously never fought in war, and never saw someone you love getting killed to get a feeling of revenge. ur talking on a general concept, but those people were in a war and theyre comrades got killed everyday, doesnt it ever come to ur mind of how bad was life for those soldiers, maybe raping was theyre way of expressing anger, revenge, or maybe just to forget the war for a moment

  • @55runescaper well then how come British, American, Canadian, Australian, even German soldiers never raped almost the entire female population of a country? Cases occured during the German invasions but it was always punished very harshly. The Russian commanders actually encouraged it. The Russian has no humanity like I said. It is unique to them. I think you could say that it is a sociopathic culture.

  • @cantroos you do know the allies entered WWII in 1944? you also do know that most of the times the countries that they entered they couldnt do that because there ware lots of people unlike battle of berlin were the buildings were in ruins, and women were scattered, and the germans DID commit war crimes too

  • @55runescaper The British were fighting the Germans in Africa from 1941, Italy was invaded in 1943, etc. I don't understand what you mean, they couldn't commit war crimes and rape people en masse because the buildings weren't all destroyed? The Germans just murdered everyone they could, but rape was a particularly Russian tool in war. I believe it is a cultural thing. I really don't believe that British soldiers would have raped every living French woman if they could get away with it.

  • @cantroos Your partially correct on it being a cultural thing. During the 30's and very early 40's there was a lot of sexual repression within the USSR. A painting of a woman in anything more revealing than workmans clothes put the painter at risk of being sent too the Gulag, for instance. When you combine pent-up sexual urges with a (semi-justified) mantra of revenge while advancing through your enemies country... bad things like this tend too happen.

  • This documentary is too official, I mean:

The last battle wasn't in Berlin, There was in Prague

The Russians wanted Berlin for one reason: They wanted to take the german nuke project.

  • Germany vs. USSR in WWII was the single most lethal, most expensive, and all around BIGGEST theater of war ever. It was also the most unspeakably brutal front of the war.

The sheer scale of everything--the size of the battles, the size of the forces involved, the prisoners taken, the massive logistical effort required to sustain millions of men and hundreds of thousands of machines in the field---was literally like nothing the world had ever seen before, and (God willing) never will again.

  • Was the third army commanded by Patton?

  • Excellent video.

  • Excellent and highly interesting post, thanks

  • if onli germany did atack russia and they onli atacket allies they could win

  • Excellent, My compliments to Houston CD

  • In the west the Red Army doesn't get much credit for their sacrifice in world war two.

  • Fifth Panzer did not 'shatter the inexperienced division' in front of it. That was the 28th division and it took the 48th Panzer Corps two full days to break their resistance with one full regiment still intact.

  • It was because of the Bagratian offensive in Belarus that caused the Germans Generals to decide that to continue the war would be futile and only result in needless losses on their side (not to mention the millions of people they were continuing to murder themselves). This is all displayed in the movie Valykrie.

For any General to agree to continue this war must be considered a war criminal.

  • yes, imagine 6th army pulled back to berlin, and also, americans failed to allow 2 million russkies to enter berlin

  • If Hitler agreed the generals pursue to give a order for the 6th Army to breakthrough as the encircling russian forces were not as tight on that time. Then sixth army would survive and Counterattack the Russians with 4th Panzer Division then the Russians will surely fail to hold the city.

  • @rthb6rt If the 6th Army pulled out of Stalingrad then they would not have been able to retake it until the following summer. It was very stupid to keep them there though.

  • @rth i don't think so, Paulus said the 6th was weak after the encircled and if they were able to escape for sure they had to leave guns, ammunition and tanks and suffer many losses, so the 6th would have been out of service for a long time. This is the reason why Paulus didn't escape

  • 6:41..and while British and American...were waiting for Soveits to finish the most of german army, so they can claim an "easy" victory in the manner of picking up germans engeeners and tech. secrets... that's a true lines that he missed for some reason...anyone would argue?

  • I would have to agree with you there for the Easy Victory, and the Allies didnt really want the Stalin to gain control of all the Science & Tech the Germans possessed, hence The Cold War wouldve been totally different and the Fear of WWIII mightve happened alot sooner before the Cuban Missile Crisis.

  • I would disagree. The decision for the Soviets to take Berlin was made long before the events of 1945.

  • 4:51 good info, but when they were talking about Leningrad battle, they said nothing about it, though they were talking about the same time and place...anyone knows why?

  • "the most horrific battle ever fought in a city"

I'm curious, was it worse than Stalingrad and Leningrad then?

  • Yes, it was.

  • im sure that it was worst than the

    battle in manila

  • Obviously, its difficult to quantify horror. Stalingrad however holds the terrible distinction as the most costly battle in human history, it cost around two million lives in total.

  • Russia was one of the countries that declared independence from the USSR

  • Before 1992, the USSR was Russia.

After 1992, the USSR ceased to exist, because Communism Died and once again, the Land of the Czars became Russia as it was originally named.

  • @EvilFingers and the dump it always was

  • you stupid or something?

  • Evil Fingers are you serious, no one has ever taken over russia except russians, Napoleon, Hitler, The Mongols. No one can beat the russians on the steppes

  • What didnt you understand on what I posted?

  • with the men, equipment and resources germany had back in 39 could have never won the war........major reason for the defeats in north afrika, russia and france was the lack of ammo, fuel and food along with transportation capabilities....even without hitlers insane interventions in military stragegics the germans would have lost the war..........

  • The major reasons was that Hitler had to control everything. Germany was much more organized than any other country on earth at that time. To say that Germany never had a chance is a huge mistake. If Germany never had a chance, then how did they take France and come only miles from Moscow. Also Germany had the best weapons development system in history. All the weapons we have today, are because of the Germans.

  • nonsense, france was no match! to move to moscow was way to late, check history informations. caucasus oil field never in reach, wehrmacht in eastern russia allready streched way to wide. never ever a chance to win the whole war. im german, i know what im talkin about. pls dont bother me with futher responses.thx

  • WOW your German so you must know what your talking about. hitler stopped the advance on moscow so he could go after the oil fields. When moscow was under siege, stalin tried to send a message to hitler for a peace treaty. If hitler had just of taking moscow instead of moving troops from army group center to army group south, he would have split the red army in half not to mention break soviet will, which would have led to russia downfall.

  • (my last comment on this) ur wrong, the troop shift was AFTER the winter of 41, so when the siege of moscow took place there was NO troop shifting. the reason why moscow wasnt conquered was the lack of equipment, same on all other fronts, LACK OF EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLYS, germany just was not able (in terms of military and supply capabilities) to win this was, thas the story! and thas it!

  • The oil fields were the key to beating Russia. If they had followed Hitler' orginal idea and gone all out for the caucasus in 41 instead of changing their objectives then i think they take Russia out and the West are forced to the table.

  • It wasnt the Generals fault for not capturing the Caucasus, it was Hitler himself that altered his Original Plan for the Caucasus and like I said, if the 6th Army wasnt sent to Stalingrad (as ordered by Hitler), the Caucasus wouldve been in German Hands before the end of 1941, since it was virtually Undefended.

  • The Oil Fields of the Caucusas couldve been reached and taken, if Hitler didnt split Army Group South to take Stalingrad and the 6th Army would still be active.

  • The 6th Army couldn't take my grandmother's

house. She uses a 12 gauge shotgun.

  • and this is what the Germans used:

    watch?v=xF8JhXJ8Aio&feature=related

    :)

  • that is why they had to take russia in 41 the moment they did not it was game over

  • Well, if Hitler wouldve waited another year after his forces took the Balkans, Operation Barbarossa wouldve been successful.

  • Completely disagree. The russians were reforming and another 12 months would have only helped them. It was the Italians fault they were bogged down in the balkans anyway. They had to take the oil in 41

  • If the Italians did managed to take the Balkans without the help from Hitler, Army Group South and the other Two Army Groups did not have adequate motorized equipment for a drive deep into Russian Terroritory and that most of the German heavy equipment & Inf Div. were still relying on the horse.

  • IF.....

  • Thats correct, IF they managed and actually the Italians couldve taken the Balkans if the British werent there.

  • the italians got shitkicked back into albania when they first attacked the greeks. theres no chance they wouldve been able to capture the balkans by themselves. the italians had been defeated before the british even showed up.

  • Mind you i'm glad they didn't

  • I can't believe how much WW2 seems like a novel. Hitler had it all, there is no reason why Germany could not have won that war,but im glad they didnt.

  • Yes, there were many reasons. For one, the allies were able to bring much more to the table. Manpower, resources, etc. Do you know how many tanks the Soviet Union produced during WWII? Upwards of 100,000. Then, of course, there were the bombing raids that crippled the once mighty Luftwaffe. I could go on and on, but I won't.

  • Your talking about through the whole war, im talking about the beginning. If Hitler would have just listened to his generals he would have crushed the Russians for sure and then could have had massive numbers of resources with which he could deal with the west. You have to remember that when Hitler invaded the USSR he had the best military in the world and war with the USA was unthinkable, more than enough time to win in the east. Hitler destroyed himself with thinking he knew all about war.

  • True, true. Also, typo: There was one extra zero in my post above. I mean upwards of 10,000

  • Terrible war.. but let us never forget it.

Battlefield is a awesome documentary :D:D

  • 350,000 wehrmacht men lost in 5 weeks, wow

  • Operation Bagration was a colossial disaster for the Germans. It destroyed most of Army Group Center.

  • Thats actually a Soviet SU-76

  • Yes the first video tapes came in two parts. The Prelude to Battle and the Battle. I edited it all together for one video. After rearrgaining the video I enhanced the video quality and sound a year later. The Battlefields listed on other sites are dowloads of my past low quality edits. I place tags in all my videos now

  • Thanks for the great videos, I appreciate them greatly
