At this point nobody know what it is the stand that FARC has , all that people knows is that they should have listened to the Goverment when they gave to FARC the posibliity to be a political party , many many times in the past , they did not wanted to accepted and used kidnapped people to bargain , now they are weak and the terms of a negotiantion can be different , we will see how things happen ..

thank you, I think FARC might able to survive thanks to financing from narco-trafic. It might be an strategic time for Colombia to offer a negotiation opportunity given the current situation; it may get some sort of amnesty in exchange for prisoners plus surrender? not sure.. Are you Colombian do you know if they FARC has any representative power among the people in the country side?

Colombia has always offered negotiation opportunities to the farc, but they always reject negotiations unless they are very convenient for their strengthening - now reconstructing - plans, so there is a massive rejection among people to accept any negotiation that won't lead to farc's surrendering.

This was suspiciously timed for McCain's unusual visit to Colombia...reminds me of when Iran, after being sold arms by Reagan, suddenly released the 400 some-odd hostages that were held for over a year, only after Reagan was elected.
