The zl1 with a 1400 hp TT 383 small block is would dominate. The weight distribution is better than the Shelby and it will hook and grip better and that camaro can also be lightened. I'm waiting to see what kind of horsepower those 351's are going to make, I definitely can't weight to here one.
@IDontHateOnCars That's strictly a drag build at that point... why even bother mentioning weight distribution... The zl1 can shed weight, but not much to be road legal. MAssive weight loss only comes in a pure race car ...

I have seen japanese cars that are a piece of crap. I also own an '86 vette, and a buddy of mine owns an '86 Porsche 944. Both are comparable cars in terms of performance, they have similar mileage, and kept the same way. I've never had a problem with it He is constantly needing repairs done. I also have a 2002 SL500 silver arrow edition which is real run too

muscle cars wise..... the camaro and the mustang are matched against each other, the corvette owns both in a drag race and handling... which makes the corvette the only real american SPORTS car. i would say the camaro and the mustang are the best american muscles cars, but the Viper isnt owned by dodge anymore but now fiat.... so ya.... not american.... that and you cant compare the vette and the viper because it has a v10.. give it a v8 like the vette and we can talk but its a super car.

Forget the Camaro. The Mustang easily walks the Camaro. But the ZR1 Corvette owns the Mustang. Not a big fan of the Corvette's look, specially the tacky headlights, but there's no denying the performance. Let's face it, the Stang is a 150mph muscle car (nice), but the Vette is a 200mph sports car (wicked).

The Corvette ZR-1 goes up to 205 mph there isnt a Mustang ever made that goes that fast. And second your still an idiot if you think a Mustang can beat a ZR-1 Vette the Vette weighs alot less, is more aerodynamic, and has more technology put into it. Unless your Mustang has like over 1000 hp your not beating a Vette you can forget about it.

Also watch Road & Tracks 2011 Shelby GT500 VS. Cadillac CTSV video on here they drag race and the Cadillac beats it. Its the same engine thats going to be in the new Z/28.

@100racks88 yeah but what you guys dont get is that the shelby is designed to be a semi-affordable, monster of a street machine. its not designed to be a aerodynamic track car. the corvette is made to be a fantastic track car and overall supercar, as the shelby is not. the shelbys so much cheaper beacuse i lacks all the racing parts that the ZR1 comes with. theyre in 2 different classes. the mustang afterall is still a MUSTANG. keep that in mind. its stilla corvette vs mustang scenerio..
