I'm confused as to, if you are going to believe in God, why you have to believe what others tell you to believe about it? I mean, there are the resources, legitimate or illegitimate, which contain the facts (or non-facts), why can't you determine for yourself whether it is true or not? That's why I don't have a problem with believing in God, but with compromising your beliefs with a denomination. No one's faith should be exactly the same (Except perhaps by coincidence.)

Religion is what sets those morals, without religion children will be raised withou any beliefs and no morals. there will be no difference between right and wrong. marriage is no longer important which is the base of a solid culture. When the family is torn apart the country will tear itself apart. This country became what it is by teaching the importance of family and the importance of having a good set of moral standards

When someone commits a crime, the only person that has the right to forgive them is their victim, nobody else. Anybody could claim that there is some sort of supernatural entity that created the world thus have the right to forgive people's crimes, but i don't buy it. There are times in this nation's history when we went through periods of great reform where government was our servant, but obviously that's been eroding over the last 40 years.
