omg my cat does this exact thing. When I first started I used it as a chance to practice balancing, I'd pet him with my toes. Now I play with him like that, he'll nip at my toes and bat at me, and I tap the top of his head with my foot. I should really get a vid of it sometime.
This is so cute! I really like some of the jazzy moves that are added into the hooping. I haven't done it since I was a kid, but this makes me want to start. And the cat...WINKITTY.
Your cat is as stubborn as mine!!! Very cute though, and II love how you just danced around him. Very creative! *LOL*
You move around SO well while hooping! How long did it take you to be able to do that? I'm still working with your walking techniques - sometimes I do great but other times not so hooptastic!
I think most folks can get pretty good at moving around with their hoop in six months to a year. It all depends on how much you practice, whether or not you remember to look up and not down, and how much you concentrate on moving your arms and other things that bring your attention above the waist and cause your core movements to become second nature. You'll have it in no time. You're already doing very well. Hang in there!
This is SO FUNNY! I love your hoop routine and the fact that that cat just lies there through the whole thing is what makes it all so incredibly awesome. Thanks for sharing that. Got any more pets you can hoop with? :)
I love the attitude ~ both of yours :-) Both Cata and Picasso hang out while I'm hooping, and practicing poi & staves too! They seem to take no notice of my loud music and walk straight through the middle of my practice space with complete nonchalance, forcing me to either move or stop so as not to bump into them! Cats rule!
OMG Caroleena! My friend has a cat that acts all comatose just like that, only all the time. You can toss him in the air (catching him of course) and he won't budge! Great waist hooping btw, but I think Icky stole the show.
Normally Ikcy is kind of a hellion. He was deliberately trying to interfere. That beast! He was saying, "This is my spot. Work around me." But clearly we're both stubborn. Neither of us would give up. I love that cat. He's silly but I sure love him.
Caroleena, that has got to be the cutest vid I've ever seen. I love how Icky's tail just twitches at the tip, while you're dancing all around him. That cat has got it made!!!
And you cat is so chill. Mine freaks and hides in the back room behind the bookcase every time I touch my hoops. .... yet balancing a sword on my head doesn't phase her! Go figure.
haha! this is awesome. :)

Is your cat taping it's tale to the song or is it just me?
