These look like the "Scotch" plows which Louis Bromfield wrote about in Malabar Farm in 1947. He promoted their use because instead of turning soil so organic matter is buried, it is mixed almost vertically. He lamented that they were not marketed in the States at the time.
What part of the world are you in ,I am going to guess Ireland,I have been in canada for 30 years, but I still miss Scotland. My dream hobby tractor would be a 35x multipower, matched to a mf 20 baler, they have never heard of either over here, I remember drooling over them at various shows when I was a boy, clutching my bag of leaflets and showing them to my dad to no avail.
This is how it began for me,ploughing with a ted petrol parrafin,in the west of scotlandin the early 60 s.Now i am a contractor bc canada, just ordered a new duetz 630,computerized mayhem, somehow i do miss the wet knees.
@crumyards Wow, I bet you could tell a few stories of your experiences over the years, how things have changed. My wife and me started farming on our own in 1988 allcows, we bought a 2nd hand petrol Fergy and my brother gave me a plough like this but shorter, it used to bung up when ploughing in grass, I used to get through some petrol too. Things got much easier when I bought the 4wd Zetor and Lemkin 3 furrow plough in 1999. Trouble is we had to give up shortly after because our landlord died.
Nice to see these old girls working! The first tractor I ever drove! I grew up with 3 of these but sadly they were destroyed in a fire, it was the saddest day of my life.
nice video. its always nice to see them working..im 15 and just finished restoring a tef (great grandads). i will post a vid when the weather nicens up..im after a banana loader for it. i think theyre great (they look good in your other video) but the tractor also had banana loader brackets on when i got it out of the shed, so trying to complete it
