Hi, Im looking for some kind of a strap for my friend to hold his cell phone. He's unable to use one hand to hold it and the other hand with his finger to press numbers -etc, then phone keeps slipping off.
He can't keep it in his palm. Is there a website to find a velcro, rubber band or something for cell phones (iphone) to strap it to his hand?
@powchutu Hello, I generally make straps using 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon (look on ebay). You could buy a case for the ipod then poke a couple of holes through the top and feed a ribbon through the hole and tie knots to keep the ribbon in place. Your friend could then easily pick up the phone and hold it with his thumb through the strap while dialing. If he needs a velcro strap you could find those at a fabric store...or if he uses leg bags those often come with velcro straps. continued...
@powchutu For poking holes through leather the crop-a-dile tool works well...see my crop-a-dile video. That tool works well for poking holes in boxes too for creating accessible boxes. For plastic items that I need to poke holes in I heat up a sharp metal poker tool I have. After it's really hot I melt a hole in the item. I have a remote control for my sprinklers that was difficult for me to pick up. I melted holes in the plastic to put a strap through.
Respond to this video... Originally I taped a zip tie strap on the back but the tape eventually kept coming off...so I made a more permanent solution by melting holes and putting the ribbon strap on. Also, the grosgrain ribbon is taut so it's easy to get your hand or finger through but unlike plastic gets out of the way when you need it to.
So glad to see you back online! Great video, but the sound dropped off for the last 30 seconds, or so. Not sure if that's from your source or my viewing system?
Thanks Ray...I don't know why the sound did that. It wasn't that way on the file on my computer. I tried uploading the file again but it did the same thing. This is a new camera. Hopefully it won't be a problem going forward.
