  • yea, I cant find dbox 2 any where,....and its the last one i need

  • I live in ontario and last week i picked up dbox 2, 3 and 4 at my local best buy for 150 canadian.

  • I'm pissed.

  • Dude this was my perfect option now that I cant buy dragon box vol 4 but now I'm doom!

  • It's so sad that Dragon ball Z blu-rays are cancel

  • FUNimation said that it has nothing to do with the sales. So I don't know WTF is going on?

  • I knew I'd see you report on this. Also true that on Dragon Box 4 going to be a pain in the ass to get (Curse anime going up in price when it goes OOP.). I heard many FYE's still have it, but as we all know, FYE charges full MSRP which probably makes even the companies sending the stuff roll their eyes. I hope I can still get it.

Anyway, so are you going to be keeping the Blu-rays for the original DBZ, and keep getting them if they resume?

  • @CorvetteLover623 Yes i will keep the Blu-ray's and i plan to buy Level 1.2 for Collecting purposes and just in case they resume the Blu-ray Production in the future.

  • @BDUBTheAnimeMaster

some dude I follow on twitter sold his dragon box 4 for 340 bucks.

  • @VongolaXEspada Damn that is Crazy.

  • This sucks... :/ I have the whole series on dvd but I wanted it in blu ray... :/

  • Now Dragon Ball Z Kai parts 1-4 is going out of print. If Funimation cancels DBZ Kai parts 7 and 8 than I'm gonna be super pissed.

  • @lurkerjr Dragon Ball Z Kai parts 1-4 is going out of print because of the Music Scandal they will Re-Release those parts in bigger boxsets and DBZ Kai parts 7 and 8 are still going to be released.

  • WTF indeed :(

  • @ESPNofGaming The news was announced like a day ago they will probably take a little while to go out of print so if you want to buy the first 2 releases level 1.1 and 1.2 then u can.

  • these blu ray level sets sounds like the ultimate uncut volume sets from awhile back, unabled to complete the set after cancellation. I thought these things were selling well but I guess perhaps more people are buying Kai on blu ray more than Z so maybe that's one factor to think about.

  • damn. I was hoping you'd put that sick intro in your vid... gotta save my fool dancing for next time!

  • This might come rare then.

  • This sucks for me. I just bought 1.1 and planned on picking up 1.2.

  • Ha Ha!!!!!

  • This sucks :/

  • Fuck, I was really looking forward to getting these to create a DBZ collection.

  • Damn, that sucks. Hopefully, Funi does find a way to keep these releases going later down the road. I never cared for the Dragonboxes as I saw some comparisons between the BD and DBox's video quality and was all over the BD quality (closer to true colors, no film shaking, and even slightly more picture). In my opinion, DBZ is more worth buying on a new video format in HD with a different aspect ratio rather than on the same media in a different aspect ratio.

  • At first I thought this meant that the Blu Ray's were being pulled for strong language.

  • @onlyelisha lol.

  • I'll probably get the Kai DVD's/Blu-Ray's and Vol. 7-9 (Buu Saga) of the Orange Bricks.

  • this is some bullshit! its boy meets world dvds all over again/

  • Glad I got Dragon Boxes 1-4 while it was still easy to find. That sucks about those blu rays though but I didn't expect it to last very long anyway.

  • I can understand the technical challenges part, but are you sure that the Blu-Rays haven't been selling well?

  • @FuryGuts It's Just a Guess lol since Funimation Released DBZ on DVD a lot and some people probably didn't the see the point in buying the Blu-ray's.

  • they should have done all of the episode before announcing it, they should have started when the first dragonbox came out

  • Damn man, and here I was taking my precious time buying these like I hadn't gotten around to buying the 1st couple of volumes but now I see I might have to hurry and cop them before they run out of prints

  • @EsperReview Damn that sucks like all hell! Shit I may not be able to buy them in time.

  • just pray for ebay

  • haha bdub is jammed up. hes on the grind for those dvds. dont give up the good fight

  • @MangaMiyn lol i gotta catch em all.

  • it disappointing to see this happen but im still optimistic that they can still get this done. only question is will the quality be the same. you can't go from having some top of the line shit to all the sudden having half-ass shit like the orange bricks

  • @chitownboyz I really don't know hopefully if it does come back the quality will stay the same.

  • Oh darn, people might have to settle for the other 20 releases Funimation has released? Boo hoo, lol.

  • @G6 Well fans might have to settle for one mediocre release and one good release that is going out of print so fans don't really have that much of option if they want DBZ in it's Entirety.

  • @BDUBTheAnimeMaster They should have kept the Dragon Boxes in print, kinda stupid if you ask me lol

  • You completely forgot to mention that they are looking for a new method of restoration so they can start releasing more BD's....

  • @hammerinhand Thanks i knew i forgot something lol lets hope they do start releasing more BD's in the future.

  • Makes me even more glad i kept my Dragon Boxes.

This makes it FUNimation's second incomplete release on disc with the first being the uncut singles after dropping the Ultimate Uncut DVDs in 2006 (anyone remember those? i sure do since i used to own them all).

  • @NJ973201 Yeah i remember those DVD's Luckily back then i only bought the first volume and stopped lol.

  • FFS I kind of had hunge with this since which was why I waited for several releases thank god I didn't pick one up as it's expensive to import and it would've been a waste if I bought it now since they cancelled the release.

  • FUCK FUNIMATION. MAYBE IF THEY DIDN'T START RELEASING A NEW TYPE OF DRAGONBALL Z DVD'S HALF WAY THROUGH THE LAST SET AND MAKE UP THIER FUCKING MIND, THE BLU RAYS WOULDVE SOLD BETTER.

  • @BDUBTheAnimeMaster Hard time with restoration is business talk for them getting lazy, their marketing team thinking it wouldn't sell, etc. For anyone hardcore fan of the series, just get the manga for DB and DBZ. Get the DVD's for DBGT.

  • @suiton629 I agree about getting the manga for DBZ but lol remember Funimation isn't Warner Bros or Universal Pictures So the restoration process might have gotten out of hand also if Toei did their own remaster and FUNI just slapped their dub on it then it probably would have been release due to the less work load on FUNI's Part.

  • @BDUBTheAnimeMaster Well, I think that's what they plan to do... Get Toei to remaster the BluRay video files and then for Funi to just slap on the dub audio files and English subtitles to the disc.

  • @BDUBTheAnimeMaster Basically, I think they're going to re-release them as "new" BluRay Season boxsets.

  • This is a shame, I held back on the DragonBoxes back last year because I was awaiting an entire blu ray release, and I believed this was my opportunity. Unfortunately it seems I may have to wait for a definitive release of DBZ in blu ray. Orange bricks are good enough for now

  • *Shoulder Shrugs* I kind of dont care its not like I havent seen DBZ 50 million times over anyways so I guess its not that bad.

  • fuck funimation

  • no fuck you!!!.

  • how am i going to get the American music of dbz now since the blue rays are gone

  • @thelooneytunesman Orange Bricks is your choice.

  • OMG Fuck blu-ray.

  • @brianwolfman313 Dude i get it you don't like Blu-ray Seriously lol.

  • Oh wtf? That's super gay. As you said though they just bit off more than they could chew. And that sucks you didn't buy the boxs as they were coming out bro.

  • fuck blu-ray!!!.

  • Wow, it sucks that you didn't collect the Dragon Boxes as they came out. At least currently Dragon Box 4 isn't at the ridiculous price point that Dragon Box 2 is selling for.

I was/am content with all of my Dragon Boxes so I never bothered with these Blu-ray sets but it sucks for people were began to collect them and were enjoying them to only find out they are discontinued two releases in.

  • if i got the first blu-ray boxset i would be soo pissed right now
