Lol own all the same gear as you dan nice playing me and you should get togeather i love blues and my lead guitar is a gibson les paul standard with a vintage sunburst finish and a marshall 2061x handwired head
haha thats really keeping it down :P i LOVE that amp. i need one. write it into your will, if you die give it to old tankbrute6? hahah love the guitar to,
hey don't know if you can get over there know you are a gibson man but loads of my friends (well 4) have bought the Vitntage V1oo peter green lemon drop retails at aoiut £250 GBP has out of phase wiring and the reports are oustanding have you played one yet??
Hi Dan, what an incredible sound you make with your gear. I've got exactly the same Les Paul as you've got, but in combination with my 30 Watt Marshall DFX I can't get that FAT tone you make.
Maybe I've got to use the knobs on my Amp more often. I just plug in and play. Mike, my son, a much better player than me, knows all the sounds he can get out of his Marshall 100 DFX.
Best wishes to you and your family and have a great 2009.
@rnrhc10 get your self a all valve amp and youl get that fuller tone i used to have a marshall solid state with my r8 infact 2 of them then i ogt a marshall valve i havent looked back..
@rnrhc10 the problem you have is with the amp i used to have one solid stae amps are thin sounding compared to all tube, plus the sixe of the speaker he's using in the video helps..
tube amps just sound so much thicker than solid state.. a good tube amp is a marshall dsl401 can be found on ebay for good prices..
I think Joe is an incredible talent....I wish he'd slow down a little...not just his playing either...he's so good that he is in danger of becoming a "swiss army knife" type player....I wish he'd just concentrate on some good rock blues and leave the Eric Johnson stuff alone. Just my opinion of course.
Hi Dan; Thanks for continuing to showcase the great classic tones you get from your gear. I enjoyed the clean "pinch harmonics" or whatever you call them, that you were getting.
Could you do a close up of your pick hand getting the harmonics??
I've watch other videos, and I imagine you're using basically the same technique, but I'm always interested in watching how others get those great squealy tones. (just a request, if you want to)
Thanks man...there's a node (a place along the fingerboard where harmonics naturally come out) a node just beyond the pole pieces of the neck pickup as you're moving towards the rear pickup....this is where you need to pick. You grab the pick way down low and when you pick the notes you make sure to pinch the strings a little with the fleshy part of thumb and or forefinger as you pick!!
Hey Dan. I've been enjoying your videos for close to 2 years now. I always pull 'em up when I need to hear great Les Paul tone through a nice Fender or Marshall. Nice slide playing too!! Keep up the great work and Happy Holidays!
Man, it takes some serious balls to cover that one. You did it well. That's my favourite LP song by any artist. Kick ass!

Just wondering, are you into Joe Bonamassa at all? If you haven't heard anything by him, listen to bridge to better days and one of these days.

Sweet tone, Rev Billy would be proud. I get a similar tone from my Metro JTM 45. Nothing like a vintage Marshall amp
