Awesome waves, terrific bracing and skill on your part, Alejo! Does your kayak have "fins"? Your video is very well produced and music is perfect! I have only attempted surfing in tidal races, on waves up to 7 feet at sand bars, and up to 4 feet at shore! My favorite is the tidal race surfing, but you have to hit it at the right time to have fun. I surf in an Eddyline Nighthawk, but have always wanted to try a surf kayak with fins. I live too far from the ocean now :(

Hi, nice video. I try to do a little kayak surfing with up to 4ft waves only. The front end of my kayak gets pulled under the water and I capsize on the bigger waves. Do I just have a crappy yak or any other reason for this?

@mrheinz - ey dood, just be sure that you a leaning back ALOT on when u are taking off on a wave- particuarly if the wave is a sucky bareling wave.

This will also help you from sliding when you go to turn as your weight will be centered over your fins.

otherwise you just go straight towards the beach and waste the wave .

to change direction you put a stern rudder on the beach side to bring you back round

and then edge the other way .
