Okay, quisk shields and tech 2 point turrets. Then just upgrade tech until you can build the ladbug experimenta units(sorry don't know the name) and rush in with one of those... it fucks all.

@MrMighty25 this never works if the enemy can harass/build long range attacking units (siege units in other words) or tanking units (high hp, soak up damage), finally, tactics, the enemy can launch a 3-prong attack, hitting all side sof your defense, and basically dividing your attention in 3 areas, in short: its only decent on novice players, if a pro sees you do this, you will fail miserably.
@rocksparadox Exactly ^^ but a monkeylord is somehow more awesome I would say, intimidation-wise, ^^ but probably not as efficient as bricks or percys :P
@lorocs yes indeed the spiderbot has the stealth advantage and it can mow through support units if you can use it to flank an opponents army. However there is nothing like an ythotha for direct base assault or a very well defended fatboy slowly inching towards the enemies t3 powerplants. If you have airsuperiority you can just use a group of hoplites to kite an advancing army if your tech is still low. However there is no perfect unit because you can counter any combo if you keep scouting .
@rocksparadox precisely, and that's what makes this the greatest rts of all time! you can do practically anything, and your opponent can counter that! IF he's clever and fast enough ;) I personally like games of 2v2 when you secretly build a lot of mass storage and then rush a czar to crash it into your opponents acu ^^ always makes me smile! doesn't always work though :P
@lorocs Do you build a Czar when you play rear? Building an exp costs so much you need some one to build lvl 1/2 units as meat shields up front.

But, I don't have any valid strats really, since i don't play ranked 1v1 :) I don't play with no rush, and the people I usually play with tend to rush, so my strat is to survive, go for air superiority and the a quick czar-attack and leave them 4vs3, 3vs2, 2vs1 ^^ heavenwarz? I guess he's a starcraft-player? ^^

an awesome, yet slow but overall uncounterable tactic is to repeatedly build tech 2 point defense and have it protected with land to air units. you support the group of engineers building the point defense with gunships. make a massive bridge towards the enemy base and then slowly annihilate them. there is no effective counter (provided the density of the point defenses is high enough).
im pretty balanced i just hold em off till i set my defences at base even at the half of map tough NO ONE GETS TROUGH THAT then i send 15 waves one after another
what if they don't send any units? ;) then you've just wasted mass on defenses and now they have a headstart economically? there are infinite numbers of strategies in this game :D

Well, it is better on PC! the graphics for onte thing, but I think the biggest differnece is in the way you issue orders and such.. You just can't play as fast and intense on a console :P a few things i found out that really slows the game down is shadows, fidelity, AI and resolution! perhaps try lowering those if you haven't! :) (not the AI ofc, but you know what I mean XD)
technicly, 2 players who's experience of Supreme Commander is maybe 2 hours of practice.. against an adversary far more experienced with the game ;) it was an important victory for me atleast!
Most time the game is allready at the end when super units come up. And theyre not that effectiv, you can get far more tech3 units for the resources and time you invest in one experimental.
i know, seems like atleast 50% of the exp are a little bit nerfed, but then again, if they weren't, the game should probably suck :P I played a phantom game yesterday that ended up with me having donated one awhassa to every player just to keep them from killing me.. unfortunately everyone already hade 100+ asf so it didn't really matter..
Yeah, Mr. Teatime is a friend of mine which, at the time, was somewhere around the 150th best player on the ranked list :) and then me and my brother, having only turtled our way through easy AI's in cheating custom games before ^^

Dont buy it at a store. From my experience its alot more expensive there. A dollar is worth 6 swedish crown, at the store supreme commander cost me 400 swedish crowns. online supreme commander cost me 69 swedish crowns (excluding shipment cost) so unless you find it cheap in a store. buy it online (also make sure your pc can handle it)

i just rush to tech2, build a tonne of air transports and fill them with tech1 assault bots and then hover my aircraft above their base :)
the assault bots just rain down fire and they get rush raped.
