  • Sry not to know this, but what is the benefit of the surge pump to do that. Or a surge pump at all?

  • It simulates the Ocean's Reef Crest Waves... It also removes protien, like a skimmer (a un expected, but welcomed benefit)

  • AH i c, very nice.

  • @scarabra ya and it can cavitate corals and anenomes and fish with skin can really have trouble with bubbles , not to mention its hard on your lights and make your gravtiy change faster , the real trick is a surge with no bubbles ,,,

  • @lesterclaypool1 Actually the bubbles are intentional. It makes the surge visible, and has a very nice look to it. You ever been on the reef, you would see there are bubbles on a real reef, how do you figure its bad? I have never seen a wave in the ocean hit a reef edge, and not cause some micro bubbles. they clear up quickly.

  • @scarabra surges on a reef only happen when the water / tide changes then some of the corals are out of the water and are not effected other do their water changes at this time ,,, and its bad because like i said once a coral gets a bubble inside it it very hard to get out with out hurting or puncturing the area to remove the air ,,, and fish with skin have problems too

  • @lesterclaypool1 It's not meant to mimic the tide, it's supposed to mimic periodic wave movement. This is an excellent way to aerate a tank, and is the BEST way to raise surf-zone fish. Fish like it. Despite what everyone may think, fish do enjoy riding the waves.

  • @mmmmmarcus well wait a minute here so your saying its not suppose to be a mimic tide, yet it suppose to be a periodic wave, OK ? SURE so where do you think you find "surf zone fish "? near the shore ? and what happens at the shore ?and did you read my comment ?dont you think that when udo schniedeer and carlson invented this method they were looking for a wave ,a wave , under stand ? not a tide pool , not a tidal action not a surf , a wave ! THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR FISH WITH SKIN OR INVERTS!

  • @lesterclaypool1 Sorry, but when i read your comment, I pictured Marcy D'arcy bent over, lecturing Jefferson like a chicken. Lmao! I feel sorry for you, you're an asshole, and those dont live long.

  • @mmmmmarcus well ok start to name the "surf fish " im sure youll come up with quite a list just because you happen to like a type of tank and system thats just does nt work and the poster stop postng videos two years ago doesnt mean you have to cry like a child try the squid scwd if you want a wave ,,, on the other hand you can kiss my ass and go jerk off with your own tears on a penis shaped pillow now go fuck off ,,,,the more you talk the dumber you look,

  • @mmmmmarcus just buy a wave maker and some pumps , simple as that and if your smart enough to use a drilled tank you need to see the water line drop or just buy a scwd squid wave maker look it up here ,,,it will stop salt creep and keep your corals living rather than hurting them ,,, ask modrenreefkeeper why all these videos are two years old ?

  • @enash99 trust me dont listen its hard on corals and other reef dwellers shrak have big troubles when they have embolisms

  • What pump filter is blowing like that?

  • Its alled a Carlsen Surge device

  • Nice one thanks
