After watching this I finally got why I wasn't getting Platinum medal on Verse 2, I was killing everything (including the bosses) with with the regular gun, that's why I was only getting gold on combo, even with platinum on time and damage, my overall score was gold at the end.

Everyone knows that Space Harrier kicks ass!

To make it easier for yourselves set to very easy, keep your right index+middle fingers on the x+y (xbox controller) and spam alternating to fire at a faster pace, unsure you dodge with the left trigger to prevent wasted damage output. on boss fights alt between a+b(xbox) to down it quickly

Another tip, if you get platnium on the first and get anything but platnium on the 2nd verse, reset the console and you can try from the start of verse 2 again and it will still go towards the trophy/achieve

I just got this achievement a minute ago. Did it on very easy and saved myself the aggravation of fucking up near the end and having to restart. Now all i need is the UToB and I'll have a full gamer score for this game

Wow that loading time for the control to pop up WAS long now I'm used to the update PS3 users got recently.

YAY for the update. Not level with the 360 version but it was nice of them to fix the loading times for us. :)

I tried multiple times on normal and couldn't get more than gold on either. I got platinum on verse 1 on hard but gold on verse 2. I went and did it on very easy and got it the first time.
