There aren't many people around (in my book anyways) that really qualify, as true artists - but David Lynch is definitely amongst the few who do. By the expression on his face you can see that he goes to deep deep places mentally/emotionally that most will never see.
With the industry so overflown with no talent, corporate, cookie-cutter assholes, I'm actually so, so thankful, for the few artists like Lynch, who refuse to spoon-feed their audiences, or compromise for anyone.
eh... right now an art opening in my country probably comes to an end, an exhibition of Lynch's photography, and He was there in person (!!!) i found out about it too late, all the invitations were gone... :( ...cheers Mr. Lynch
The song from the film "Surveillance" (2008) by Jennifer Lynch written and performed by David Lynch is called "Speed Roadster" not "Speed Racer" which is an awful film.
Listen to more Lynch (Inland Empire soundtrack), watch Surveillance and avoid Speed Racer.
This song gives me the image of a bunch of morbidly anorexic cowboys shooting heroin as they lay around the burned down remains of a wooden cabin in an ashen and lifeless desert. All of this happening at about noon.
The songs Lynch has written for his movies have always been great - "Under The Sycamore Tree" is one I particularly love - bu this song & "Speed Roadster" sound so good with his vocals that they really caught me off guard.
I imagine Lynch singing this at night, at some kind of redneck campgrounds, taking a 20 minute dump, inside a port-o-potty with an unlikely microphone, after eating way too much nachos and cheese....It's only a conjecture.
Please make another Film!!! Forgive me, cause it's only a wish, but could you shoot it on film? I've never seen images more beautiful than Lynch pictures! I'm sorry for asking that.
"Dreamy" is the word alright! That is a Lynch trademark. When we think of 50s music, there is often a twingy/twangy, otherworldliness to the rockabilly music. Lynch seems to have diluted it to its purest form--and that's a great thing. You should hear him sing "Ghost of Love" from movie Inland Empire. You'll love its dreamy quality.
The "ghost of love" EP does exist. It contains the tracks "ghost of love" and "imaginary girl". I purchased mine online a few months ago. It's a limited edition CD so hopefully it's not out of print.
My motherfucking man! Thank you for posting this! I have an amazing ear and I knew this was Lynch when I first saw Inland Empire just from his cadence. No one believed me. If I had bet them and then was able to show them this video I have made about $5 of those broke bastards!
So the song is called GHOST OF LOVE and David Lynch wrote and performed it? Is that right? Or is he miming here? How can you get the whole song? Its amazing.
its not there if you mean the one that comes with the Inland Empire extras. But theres a david lynch documental called LYNCH that came out last year, im gonna watch it next week.
