I agree im a 10 year old diabetic and i dont think its very fair either. i think its not fair because everyone else doesn't have to see needles everysingle day of their life and they get to eat sweets whenever and we only have it when low and it sucks when your low! This is a very sad video. I have a friend who is 8 and going through the same thing. I feel so sorry for her but she is having a great life and enjoying herself. This is a wonderful video that gives a small glimpse off what it is like to be a child and diabetic. My daughter is 11years old and was diagnosed with typee 1 diabetes in 2006 when she was just 6 years old. This has been most difficult battle we have ever had to deal with. She has been feeling down lately and saying she doesn't want to be diabetic anymore. I tell her, as I'm sure all mothers feel, if I could take her disease upon myself I would. You seem very strong and I pray for a cure.

One normale day, I checked my blood sugar it was 100. I gave my insulin and all that jazz, And we had steak,Baked potato,bread,and salad i ate my bread,steak and salad but not that potato my mom said, Fine,JUst eat everything else. After i ate,Got full. I started my homework. I started to feel Very weird. I couldnt stand up. I struggled getting to my supplies. When i checked my sugar it was 13!!!!!! At that point i didnt know what to do i could hardly swallow!

stop weeping to the world. I have had it since i was 3 and a half and now i'm 10. i don't think it is so bad. i'm still a normal kid doing a great job with a great life. It's like brushing your teeth every day.
I'm a type one diabetic and have been for over 6 years now. Having Type 1 diabetes is life-changing but it's not the worst thing that could happen, it is manageable. Just be thankful you haven't got something worse like leukemia. Re-evaluate you're attitude and maybe your diabetes won't consume you're life as much as you claim it does. I do like how you made the distinction that Type1 is an auto immune disease though, not enough people realize this.
This video is actually depressing, especially for someone with Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was 11, I'm now 27 and there is NOTHING saying a diabetic can't live a normal life, especially with the technology they have today. Insulin pumps are wonderful things, so are CGM's. Yes, living as a diabetic is a challenge, it's hard, but it a normal life can be led, so long as you don't let diabetes rule you or your life, you rule it.
I myself have diabetes. I think you can live a good life. A normal. Just remember to train and take your insulin and eat better. I think we should be glad of the devices we have nowadays. In the past it had been more difficult if you had diabetes. Do those things you want to do, because you can do what all "normal" can do. there is a saying that goes: "everyone should live as a diabetic" because we live so healthy. Take care of yourself.

Type One's, I've had this for nearly 3 years and we should not have to be on pumps, would should still be injecting ourselves. This shows that we know how to take care for ourselves.
I have diabetes type 1 and I've never lived my life better. Diabetes opened my eyes and now I am eating only healthy food. The pokes aren't a problem and neither are insulin injections. I know a person who cured himself by getting his pancreas transplanted. He doesn't have diabetes anymore and is living his life without the injections and pokes. Diabetes isn't affecting my family at all, it only encouraged them to eat healthier. This may sound weird, but I am really glad to have diabetes.
Diabetes is an everyday challenge, however people forget the social battle that comes with it, especially anyone diabetic with a pump. I have had school teachers try and confiscate it because they thought it ws an ipod. teachers have also joked about it with me. and the rest of the class. at the time it was funny. but now i realise its quiet disgusting what the outside worlds attitude is towards diabetics.

@MrYankeeboy001 There is a cure, or at least, there will be one soon. A recent study for a medecine to treat a certain illness has been found to successfully REVERSE type 1 diabetes in lab rats! Testing hasn't begun on humans, but i think it will soon! =)
Looking at this video makes me very sad. I will never just feel sorry for myself. Yeah I'm type 1 but hey, I think it makes us all a lot stronger than the average person. Maybe it takes you to nearly go into a coma, but I've realized that having this makes me a better person. They say we live a shorter life, well I'm taking care of myself and I'm not going to let diabetes live my life for me. No one should. Live your own life and have fun. So many little children are coming down with diabetes after their childhood vaccines. There is even a warning about the correlation in the patient information sheet. As mandatory childhood vaccine have increased so has the number of children coming down with this disease and the onset occurs at a younger and younger age.
Most parents had about 12 vaccines before they stared school, now kids are given 48+ vaccines in the same time frame. What a shame.

Even though a cure may be a long ways away still or just around the corner possibly... We are making huge steps forward to create a simpler lifestyle for all of us with diabetes, both types 1 and 2... Such as the break through research being down currently... where a glucose meter is being developed to use saliva instead of blood... Taking away the need to prick your finger so many times a day and lessening the stress...

diabetes is as bad as this vid makes it out to be today i got a detention for fainting in the hall way by the nurse cuz my school nurse is an idiot but the point is every time we get a high bg thats is a strike of our eyes kidneys limbs and much more once our strikes are up were are screwed so we have to take care and plan everything to make sure we dont get high
My son is 14 and very healthy, thin does everything right and he was just diagnosed 3 days ago. Conbo70 you are an ass, type 1 has no rhyme or reason these are kids and yes it can be as bad as this Koltonkj26. Some kids have it a long time before they are diagnosed and that makes it harder to control. We are very lucky as my son was diagnosed before any damage occured.
If you knew anything about Type 1 diabetes you would know those are sources of fast acting sugar to treat emergency low blood glucose. For meals and snacks that are not treating lows she does eat natural organic foods.

I agree im a 10 year old diabetic and i dont think its very fair either. i think its not fair because everyone else doesn't have to see needles everysingle day of their life and they get to eat sweets whenever and we only have it when low and it sucks when your low! This is a very sad video. I have a friend who is 8 and going through the same thing. I feel so sorry for her but she is having a great life and enjoying herself. i've got diabetes!! type 1 :) only had it for 1 and a half years so far.......got a while to go yet... :( but i have my good days and bad days....days where i just feel like i want to get away from it or leave it at home so i can go out for dinner and not face people staring at me like a freak if i need to test my sugar level.... what really annoys me is when adults stare.....for little kids its understandable but come on, adults...

This is a wonderful video that gives a small glimpse off what it is like to be a child and diabetic. My daughter is 11years old and was diagnosed with typee 1 diabetes in 2006 when she was just 6 years old. This has been most difficult battle we have ever had to deal with. She has been feeling down lately and saying she doesn't want to be diabetic anymore. I tell her, as I'm sure all mothers feel, if I could take her disease upon myself I would. You seem very strong and I pray for a cure.

@mzzking Don't worry, I am 11 and i am sure it will get better I was diagnosed when 4 and a half also have you heard of cwd confrences there are ones in america and england for diabetic children i go to the english one ever since it started 2 years ago mabye she would like going to one of them so she could see people the same age and how they deal with it there might be other camps but i dont know where else . :)

One normale day, I checked my blood sugar it was 100. I gave my insulin and all that jazz, And we had steak,Baked potato,bread,and salad i ate my bread,steak and salad but not that potato my mom said, Fine,JUst eat everything else. After i ate,Got full. I started my homework. I started to feel Very weird. I couldnt stand up. I struggled getting to my supplies. When i checked my sugar it was 13!!!!!! At that point i didnt know what to do i could hardly swallow!

stop weeping to the world. I have had it since i was 3 and a half and now i'm 10. i don't think it is so bad. i'm still a normal kid doing a great job with a great life. It's like brushing your teeth every day.

I'm a type one diabetic and have been for over 6 years now. Having Type 1 diabetes is life-changing but it's not the worst thing that could happen, it is manageable. Just be thankful you haven't got something worse like leukemia. Re-evaluate you're attitude and maybe your diabetes won't consume you're life as much as you claim it does. I do like how you made the distinction that Type1 is an auto immune disease though, not enough people realize this.

This video is actually depressing, especially for someone with Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed when I was 11, I'm now 27 and there is NOTHING saying a diabetic can't live a normal life, especially with the technology they have today. Insulin pumps are wonderful things, so are CGM's. Yes, living as a diabetic is a challenge, it's hard, but it a normal life can be led, so long as you don't let diabetes rule you or your life, you rule it.

I myself have diabetes. I think you can live a good life. A normal. Just remember to train and take your insulin and eat better. I think we should be glad of the devices we have nowadays. In the past it had been more difficult if you had diabetes. Do those things you want to do, because you can do what all "normal" can do. there is a saying that goes: "everyone should live as a diabetic" because we live so healthy. Take care of yourself.

I have diabetes type 1 and I've never lived my life better. Diabetes opened my eyes and now I am eating only healthy food. The pokes aren't a problem and neither are insulin injections. I know a person who cured himself by getting his pancreas transplanted. He doesn't have diabetes anymore and is living his life without the injections and pokes. Diabetes isn't affecting my family at all, it only encouraged them to eat healthier. This may sound weird, but I am really glad to have diabetes.

Diabetes is an everyday challenge, however people forget the social battle that comes with it, especially anyone diabetic with a pump. I have had school teachers try and confiscate it because they thought it ws an ipod. teachers have also joked about it with me. and the rest of the class. at the time it was funny. but now i realise its quiet disgusting what the outside worlds attitude is towards diabetics.

Type 1 since age of 4 now 51. Keep up the good work. Keeping active is a big key. I was an avid bike rider thousands of miles. Medtronic insulin pump is a great addition to my life. Magnesium breaks down calcium blocks. Check magnesium levels as you age.

type one is insulin deficient, and type 2 is insulin resistant, but both result in high blood glucose if untreated. Type 2 is caused by malformed insulin receptors in tissue that do not receive insulin signals very well, often compounded by natural insulin resistance, which is caused by several biological factors, to include obesity.
type 1 is autoimmune, and is often the result of your immune system destroying insulin producing cells in the pancreas at a rate higher than they can regenerate.

I have had type one diabetes my whole life, a whole 13 years..I do not remember a time when I have not had it. It is like a lifestyle now. But something has come out called a pump. I have had one for 3 years. It works wonders. I love it.
And what bugs me is when people abuse this privlage by not putting the carbs in. I have seen so many people who could have been heathy not..

@MrYankeeboy001 There is a cure, or at least, there will be one soon. A recent study for a medecine to treat a certain illness has been found to successfully REVERSE type 1 diabetes in lab rats! Testing hasn't begun on humans, but i think it will soon! =)

Looking at this video makes me very sad. I will never just feel sorry for myself. Yeah I'm type 1 but hey, I think it makes us all a lot stronger than the average person. Maybe it takes you to nearly go into a coma, but I've realized that having this makes me a better person. They say we live a shorter life, well I'm taking care of myself and I'm not going to let diabetes live my life for me. No one should. Live your own life and have fun. Don't hold back by going anywhere, you'll regret it.

I know more about type1 diabetes than I want to! My son is 29 and has been brittle since being diagnosed in 1991. On the brink of death too many times to count. Even with his attentiveness he had 3 severe reactions this past year.

So many little children are coming down with diabetes after their childhood vaccines. There is even a warning about the correlation in the patient information sheet. As mandatory childhood vaccine have increased so has the number of children coming down with this disease and the onset occurs at a younger and younger age.
Most parents had about 12 vaccines before they stared school, now kids are given 48+ vaccines in the same time frame. What a shame.

I agree with you and having diabetes really does suck. I've had type 1 since my 10th birthday and well ya it just sucks.

Even though a cure may be a long ways away still or just around the corner possibly... We are making huge steps forward to create a simpler lifestyle for all of us with diabetes, both types 1 and 2... Such as the break through research being down currently... where a glucose meter is being developed to use saliva instead of blood... Taking away the need to prick your finger so many times a day and lessening the stress...

ive had diabetes since may of 2002, im 16 and for someone your age (not calling you young or anything) to be able to make a video informing people of what type 1 diabetes is really like and to reach out and ask for a cure makes me realize i need to kick it up a notch. diabetes has significantly changed my life. but so many great things have come out of it. ive learned that though every day is a struggle, its possible to take care of.

I dont have diabetes but i read at the newspaper yesterday (swedish) and it said that there is a shot for diabetes that can cure that in atleast 3 years. And i aplogoize of everyones diabetes and i hope you will be cured sometime. Sorry for m English.

@chocolatecandycone: no one will teas you because you have diabetes. It is part of you and god forbid if someone does...it's part of you and it is NOT your fault. dont be afraid to show everyone who you are. It will make you stronger...i promise you.

While I don't have diabetes, a friend of mine made two videos on her account. It won't let me post the links, but I think you will enjoy them. Her username is @HeartCOOP. Through her, and another friend, who sadly, passed away of unrelated causes, I have learned about the disease and I an watching random youtube videos to get more of a sence of everyday life.

no cure for diabetes but life must go on. I'm 19. I don't have it now but the doctor said I'm at risk and several years to pass it'll result to diabetes.

This video brought tears to my eyes. I was diagnosed at 14, but I'm still struggling with some of the day to day regimen. It is really exhausting and it really is a struggle every single day.
Type 1 Diabetes really makes you grow up faster than you want to. I wish you so much health. Keep fighting, girl.

diabetes is as bad as this vid makes it out to be today i got a detention for fainting in the hall way by the nurse cuz my school nurse is an idiot but the point is every time we get a high bg thats is a strike of our eyes kidneys limbs and much more once our strikes are up were are screwed so we have to take care and plan everything to make sure we dont get high

My son is 14 and very healthy, thin does everything right and he was just diagnosed 3 days ago. Conbo70 you are an ass, type 1 has no rhyme or reason these are kids and yes it can be as bad as this Koltonkj26. Some kids have it a long time before they are diagnosed and that makes it harder to control. We are very lucky as my son was diagnosed before any damage occured.

If you knew anything about Type 1 diabetes you would know those are sources of fast acting sugar to treat emergency low blood glucose. For meals and snacks that are not treating lows she does eat natural organic foods.

If your DAD is type 1 then you should know that type 1 is not because of being a stupid, fat American. Type 1 is autoimmune and has nothing to do with being overweight.
