  • I wonder if BBC Sherlock's Moriarty was inspired by this. The way he acts and is happy about being nasty reminds me so much about Ratigan. :)

  • " I am not a rat" yea, that's a sign that Ratigan needs professional help if he's gonna deny what he is.

  • Am i the only one who LOLed @ 3:40 to 3:48?

  • @RameshNair525 It was elementary. ;)

  • Anyone notice that position that Basil's sitting and the hand he's playing the violin with change from 0:23 to 0:27? Tsk tsk!

  • @PianoDisneygal10 good eye

  • Is it bad that this is my favorite Vincent Price movie?

  • @username17931 No. Every Vincent Price fan should love this movie.

  • @username17931

No, this was Vincent Price favorite role (according to IMDB)!

  • This is better then any sherlock holmes movie or tv adaptation ever made.

  • Am I the only one REALLY wanted that dancing flower doll when I was little?

I wanted to have it. SO. BADLY.

  • fenes it flbrsen!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone who saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie hear any similarities between Moriarty and Ratigan?

  • @chocolatefountain95 Well Ratigan is based off of Moriarty.

  • @stlouisrocker100 I know. but I thought he would be loosely based on him but in fact the resemblance is uncanny

  • I just LOVE hearing Vincent Price voice, I love it I love it I love it ♥ ♥

  • Fucking Awesome Vincent Price!

  • 7:41 Shit hit the fan

  • ha ha orphans and widows

  • The lizard from Alice in Wonderland is in this

  • Was the dad mouse voiced by Scrooge McDuck?

  • @tacoman422 Yes he was.

  • @tacoman422 yes, fortunately he did this movie before his fatal plunge into solid gold :)

  • i saw this movie when i was like 7. i still have nightmares from the bat. I'm 15...

  • Trollface the rat.

  • Is it just me or was i the only one when i was little that, that bat was freakin Scary as heck!!!!!aeehgff

  • For some reason I love the way he pronounces "Yes"

  • Ed Hooks Animation Acting 101! Just look closely at the forms, the flow/interruption of flow, the goals, the motives, the objectives, of each character. They all fit extremely well, as if they were cogs in a gearbox, one possibly even slicker than Jeremy Clarkson's appetite for tired old controversy as a means to make a living. Especially Ratigan's sudden transition from sarcasm to a fit of suppressed range at a visual signifier of someone deeply cherished. My utter thanks to ADisneyObserver!

  • I Like it when the little drunk mouse with the top hat sings "the world's rattest rat" and Ratigan gets mad and someone says "you're a mouse" "yeah a big mouse"

  • RATIGAN FOR KINGDOM HEARTS 3! >:D

  • @doseiaisha If we had Tron we can have Ratigan

  • @chocolatefountain95 definitly!

  • Omg, no one I know aside from my sister and mom KNOWS OF THIS MOVIE! WTF?!

  • @BloomingSkulls seriously? WTAF?!

  • I can honestly say that Ratigan is my favorite Disney villain...because he's Vincent Freakin Price! He MAKES the whole movie.

  • anyone know when this is gettin realised again on dvd!?

  • @blaireparko Not soon enough

  • How did I never realize that this was Vincent Price?

  • Ratigan scared the piss out of me when I was a child. The whole movie was so dark and foreboding, lol... but I kept watching it cause I loved it. ><

  • The best Disney movie

  • When I hear rattigans voice I think of the theif and the cobler

  • This movie is extremely disturbing.lol when I was a little I was scared of this movie

  • Vincent Price was the greatest actor to have ever lived. RIP Vincent Price.

  • This is why Padraic (yes,'Ratigan has a first name) should marry Wing from South Park. He's a mouse, not a rat, but a pelican. He was a great soccer player named Jason Kreis. After Third Eye Blind pushed poor PR off Big Ben, he became the Chemical Brothers and killed Darkwing Duck.

  • Did this movie freak the fuck out of anyone else as a kid? I still have fucking knightmares about this movie.

  • @SexyBill1976 yes, Fidget's pop and go boo scenes scared me badly. Weirdly enough, Ratigan didn't scare me, I thought he was funny. Yes, even as a kid, I knew Vincent Price was awesome.

  • aww A british mouse

  • Now THAT'S what I call High Quality!! :D

  • Oh Basil, why exactly do you have a framed picture of your archnemesis on your mantle?

  • What is Bill the Lizard doing out of Wonderland?

  • @Maskums he got tired of angry queens, nutty madhatters, giant ridle talking caterpillars, lost british girls, time troubled white rabbits, and retarted soundmaking twins.

  • what is that green thing?

  • ratigan is prob one of the scariest disney villains ever

  • 8:00

Oh my dear Bartholomew.....I'm afraid that you have gone and upset me. ]:(

You know what happens when someone upsets me. }:)

    *ding-a-ling*

That has to be the scariest "ding-a-ling" in the world.

  • Anyone think that Vincent Price has the best evil laughter? Or is it just me?

  • Ahhhh the memories. I've always watched this when i was little.

Vincent Price. May he live in everyone's memories. Anyone else miss hearing Vincent Price talking?

  • At 5:35 i like how his hair gets all messed up when he says "supreme ruler of all mousedom!!!"

  • Vincent price is always amazing even as a rat. Oh crap I didn't say rat mean "mouse"

  • "This is a very inoppurtune time"

But the Sherlock Holmes we know would end that sentence with this....

".....because I'm coked off my tits"

  • Anyone notice when he pulls out the bell his pocket just vanishes?

  • I don't think i've ever seen so much pink and purple in one room before XD

  • Ratigan is BOSS!

  • Ratigan - based off of Prof. James Moriarty of the Sherlock Holmes novels. On the exterior he is polite, cultured, erudite, intelligent and jovial. Inside however - he is a complete monster - a diabolical mastermind whose power-crazed scheme is matched only by his terrible temper.

  • Great villians rrrrrroll their r's.

  • this was my favorite film... 10 years ago lol

ratigan is an awesome villain, no evil super powers, just a great criminal mind

and fidget creeped me out when i was a little kid

  • 0:27 And now, another moment of "Oh, SH*T!"

  • Happy 100th birthday Vincent Price

  • At 8:00, I bet this is where Achmed got the idea for "SILENCE, I KILL YOU"

  • If you simply close your eyes and just listen to it, it sounds just like an old detective show on the radio. The voice acting and sound effects are incredible.

My favorite at 8:00 when Ratigan yells "Silence" and there is a hilarious short whoosh sound that makes me laugh every time.

Thumbs up if you agree with anything I've said.

  • @ShadowSonic2-He's a professor of evil, of course.

  • Why does Basil have a picture of Ratigan on his wall?0_o

  • @Cynthia126572 It's most likely an allusion to Irene Adler, the one criminal who outsmarted Sherlock Holmes. Holmes kept her picture on his wall as a sign of respect and admiration. For Basil it's also probably a motivational drive

  • @k10edd ratigan is professor moriarty. holmes did the same thing, not merely for irene adler (a hollywood love interest), but for prof. moriarty, who was always holmes's mortal enemy

  • @pterrordactylnick Well now I know :)

  • @Cynthia126572 cuz he's the main target he's tried to capture so many times.

  • Bartholomew didnt' like this video, for sure ^^

  • now thats a bad guy!!

    Woo!! I think I need a cigeret!

  • Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the brilliant facial expressions in this movie? Eternal respect for the animators *_*

  • Vincent Price is a total pimp

  • Ratigan is the only Creature in the universe that can beat Chuck Norris!

  • Why does he have a portrait of his worse enemy...

I mean, I hate Rebecca Black, but I don't have a portrait of her over my fire place.

  • @J43265 Possibly to inspire. He might look up at it and say, "One day, I will catch you and that smile of yours will fade!" Or to take out his frustrations (dart board after a bad day). Or for identification. (show pictures to victims or witnesses and ask, "Is this who committed the crime?")

  • @J43265 true but it's always nice to throw darts

  • @J43265 Ratigan probably sent it to him to mock him

  • His face after the burp is still the funniest part of any movie I have ever seen

  • Vincet Price is pimp

  • OMG< its bill from alice in wonderland

the one who gets sneezed out of a chimney

  • @QueenBonesofdarkness- Guess we know where he ended up, hey?

  • This movie brings back memories for real! Yeah, Ratigan freaked me out when I was a child. So did that bat!

  • Er..........where did Basil get the picture?

    Either way Ratigan rules!

  • o god i remember this film as a child gone are the days of good kids films

  • 6:17-6:18 He seems a lot like Dracula or the Phantom (from the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera) when he puts his cape in front of his face.

  • You KNOW he's bad when the word "nefarious" is necessary!

  • Top 5 Baddest Disney Villains:

    1.) Maleficent (Of, course)

    2.) Minister Frollo

    3.) Ursula

    4.) Ratigan

    5.) Hades

Probably the wussiest villain, in my opinion, is Jafar. The guy barely did squat

  • @jsteffey88 You wanna know who the absolute worst villain is? None other than the one, the only, Edgar from The Aristocats.

  • @bluethunder25 Yeah I can buy that, but I still, personally, think Jafar is just a big joke of all Disney villains. Ooo he's so bad with his staff hypnotizing people, especially in one scene in Aladdin when Princess Jasmine is right next to her father getting hypnotized. At the last minute he turns into a giant snake and genie, along with getting fooled by his enemy. What an idiot. Possibly gay too. lol.

  • @jsteffey88 Dude hes the only villan who got to kiss a princess. Everybody else just runs around singing & then all they do is go die in the end. And i dont mean that in a mean way ether, but for most villans its true. And he could kill them all if it werent for the fact that 1st of all, he died, and 2nd of all the lamp. IF THE LAMP DID NOT EXIST HE COULD KILL US ALL. Thank you for your time.

  • @saphireanddspencer Whatever. I'm still sticking to my personal opinion. Jafar, as a Disney villain, is just a joke to me; and possibly bisexual. Again, the guy barely does anything except talks pretentiously about himself and the lamp. I loved in Kingdom Hearts, even Maleficent doesn't want anything to do with Jafar. I don't blame her; the guy's a wuss.

  • Geez, way to teach kids that alcohol is bad for you: you drinnk = get eaten y a gigantic cat!

  • What exactly is Ratigan supposed to be a Professor OF?

  • @ShadowSonic2 My guess is being a professor of being who he is: Evil, sinister, and above all witty compared to all Disney Villains.

  • 3:38 - 3:34 I'm laughing so hard.... in my office.

  • @indhiramor Your comment made my day :3

  • Vincent Price deserved to sing a villain song, oh no wait, 2 villain songs and this role of course :)

  • @JaDangerz

So it was Price...you just cant beat that

  • 100th like =)

  • <3 love this movie!

  • I don't get it, all we see is Felicia's shadow right before she eats Bartholomew, and when she does, all we notice is the "glump" sound...and YET IT MAKES MY SKIN CRAWL...

  • oh how i love Vincent Price's voice!

  • I just found myself mouthing the lines! *sigh*

  • Ah... memories from my childhood. Good memories

  • why not just use cheese to chapture ratigan.

  • holy crap, the voice of the dad is scrooge mcduck

  • Ratigan: I AM NOT A RAT!!!

Me: But your name is Ratigan. Rat-i-gan

    Ratigan: SHUT UP!!!

  • Ratigan is the epitome of evil! He's suave, cunning, devious, and above all a blood thirsty monster hidden by sophistication. I just love how he was done and Vincent Price did an extraordinary job in doing the voice! thumbs up if u agree! xD

  • I can imagine the "World's Greatest Criminal Mind" song being sung by Umbrella troops in honor of Albert Wesker. Anyone agree?

  • @MovieMan1065 When I was watching Despicable Me, I could easily picture Gru singing it.

  • @spiritgirl41192 Me too. Gru COULD be the new Professor Ratigan! Don't you agree?

  • I can't believe I only just now realized that Rattigan is voiced by Vincent Price. *facepalm*

  • Felicia is my favorite cartoon cat.

  • I don't know why but Ratigan strikes a disturbing resemblance to Ganondorf

  • Ratigan is probably my favorite Disney Villan. This movie is the one I watched the most as I grew up, and he was just so fearable. He's a perfect childrens villan.

  • you know you have a great villan when the picture smiles when you mention his name

  • I just love the way Ratigan's picture smiles when they mention his name.

  • why did the cutest fucking mouse in the whole world have to get eaten? Why couldn't it be the creepy looking lizard thing...I'm mean he already got a cameo in alice in wonderland

  • Hmm a professor of evil genius plans and drowning orphens and widows.

I bet he trains all the best villains.........

  • Ratigan hates being called a rat because rats are usually associated to being ugly, dirty creatures, and as we all know Ratigan is nothing like that...Or at least he tries to tell himself that.

  • @CrestTheHedgehog1 Well, that makes sense; I've always wondered about that

  • @CrestTheHedgehog1 He doesn't like being called a rat because a rat is a snitch. It's the worst thing anyone can call a criminal.

  • @pterrordactylnick The more I know, so it seems.

  • @CrestTheHedgehog1 yeah, Padraic is a mouse.

  • Ratigan has surprisingly well manicured hands for a sewer rat.

I never understood why he didn't like being called a rat; that's what he is. Why the ethnic shame?

  • I remember seeing this movie at the theater, way back when...murder, violence, kidnapping, treason, sexy cabaret girls, a mentally overdowed and slightly instable villain, decent plot twists and characters that grew onto you..this movie had it all. Yet, it was poorly neglected in spite of its impeccable artwork, acting and score. I'm so glad to have found this gem again; this is one Disney classic I will surely add to my collection, once I get the money for a decent Home-Cinema-set.

  • Basil reminds me so much of David Tennant

  • This is what happens when you over drink, you doe stupid things, like piss off your psychotic and get fired... or eaten in this case.

  • I want a doll like that

  • IMFAO, some of the expresseions on the characters wtf

  • Boy this brings back memories

  • 7:39 - 7:43

To Ratigan, the Worlds Greatest Rat.......LMAO.

  • @jango3 How come he gets so tetchy when people call him a rat, it's in his fucking name!

  • @jango3 *spittake* What was THAT?! What did you call me?

  • 7:46 eep.....

  • 5:36 LMAO! I love Glen Keane...truly captures the psychopathness and insanity of Ratigan/

  • 6:11 O_O

  • "Basil of baker street" the characters kept saying that all the time, I was concerned that if Ratigan knew where he lived, I thought there was going to be a scene where Ratigan sends his goons to his place...

  • @MegaSoldier64

XD I never thought of that. That would have been quite a scene.

  • 3:56 I love it when you're nasty too Ratigan. >w< You perfect evil master mind you. ~pinches his cheek~ lol

  • But, wait, if his plan was a success, than nobody would ever know anything had happened... So how could it live in infamy? My head hurts...

  • Oh Ratigan! WHY AREN'T THERE MORE GUYS LIKE YOU!?!?! D < I read that disney found their inspiration of what Ratigan would look like from a specific photo...I WANNA SEE that origional photo, the man that looks like him. To know what he would look like in real life... Apparently the guy was smoking and leaning against a wall.

  • 0_o 8:25

  • pimp much?

  • I must say that Ratigan is the funniest villain i Disney. I know that a lot of pepole like Hades or Captain Hock, but really, what makes Ratigan better is that he's trying to hide his anger and rage inside, and in the end, his just as evil as any other power, hungry dictator.

Ratigan - evil has never looked so good and bad at the same time

  • @MrDavidFILM Uhh nice Nostalgia Critic reference? 0.o

  • @606Xentrax606 I took SOME consepts from his review yes, like the 1st 2 sentences and the last one...

  • Ratigan: i am no rat

me: but your name is Ratigan, Rat igan

    Ratigan: uh shut up

  • @911028em You: *Gets eaten by a cat*.

  • @7878444 crap not agen

  • This is so funny and cool!

  • "But he had a peg leg!"

HA! Oh course Basil, only ONE bat can have a peg leg! OF COURSE!

  • it took her 2 say her pops was "taken by a bat" 4 basil 2 finally help. wow. smh

  • Best line ever;

    "Even meaner?

    You mean it?

Worse than the widows and orphans you've drowned?"

    SO over the top...

  • I loved this movie so much as a kid, I broke my vhs from overuse haha :)

  • Ratigan is so freakin' BADASS he makes the painting change.

  • Ratigan is one of my favorite villains! I've always imagined if I were shrunk, then he would come up to me, and ask me to go to his party. I'd be in my beautiful gown dress, Padraic would kiss my hand, and we would dance. Padraic is Ratigan's first name by the way.

  • In my opinion, The best Disney Villain Ever! Cruella Devil, Scar, Ursala, Maleficent, Frollo, and every other disney villain don't even compare to the awesomeness of Ratigan. He's the funniest and coolest disney ever with the best disney villain song ever!

  • @jburnham93 Maestro Forte's really great too, but he's not as evil as Ratigan. I love the Ratigan song & party! That'd be a great party, if only his followers weren't scared spitless of him. And I wonder what that eel was doing there amongst all the mice?

  • @SnowbirdFlock Is it an eel? I always thought it was a gecko! IDK.
