  • There is a common misconception with the snakehead fish and bowfin. Is the bowfin a invasive species in Ontario as well? Have any snakehead fish been caught or recorded in Ontario?

  • @FFJNVT The Bowfin is native to eastern Canada, but very few anglers ever target them. As far as I know there have been no reported catches or sightings of snakehead...God bless you, Italo

  • My opinion the best lure to use for the bowfin is a spinnerbait. I have seen them come up and follow a spinnerbait for awhile and then snatch it. Best of luck

  • @jk22222sd I have caught them on spinnerbaits fishing for largemouth bass, but I have never targetted them seriously with them. Where we did the TV show was really thick weeds and the bowfin were right down in the so it would have been really tough to get a spinnerbait in front of them....God bless you, Italo

  • the ones with a spot on the tail are males. the males also have greenish- torquoise fins. females are just brown with red fins.

  • @bourdacharisma Thank you, I just learned two great ID tips...God bless you, Italo

  • @ItaloLabignan you're welcome
