Nami died from Fungal Bacterial Pneumonia, Stomach Ulcers, Myocardial Fibrosis, Heart Failure and Chronic Colitis after swallowing 180 lbs. of stones over the course of many years at the Taiji Whale Museum.
That's another young Orca dead from an ulcer related death. What will it take for the insidious display of Orca to cease in the Parks? It's time for the IWC to step up and put Orca on the Protected list to prevent any more future captures.
I was hoping to see a pulled out shot showing what the barrier between her and the open ocean is. Is the barrier a net? Do members of her family or any other orcas come close, talk / vocalize to her?
I am uncertain. Was she moved? If she has to be an orca in captivity :( it seems like being in the ocean pen is the best that could be done for her. Is she treated well?
Nami is a female orca captured on coastal Taiji in 1985. She has survived in natural water in "Taiji Whale Museum" for 25 years. Now she is going to be sold to Nagoya Port Aquarium for 500million yen as a sacrifice for financial crisis of Taiji Town. We are afraid that moving her to concrete tank in NPA would shorten her life.We consider this is one step to next Taiji 5 incident.

I have to agree with you there, she has proven herself to enjoy her life where she is,moving her may cause stress.
But let's be positive about this, maybe she could like it and make new friends, right? ^.^
