Juli, while you may be cute you seem to be supporting someone who has voted for increased taxes over history. Just beacuse a candidate talks a good game doesnt mean they will bring that to the field on game day. Now that he dropped out the only REAL conservative choice is Ron Paul because he has actually sent bills to Congress requesting change in froeign policy, spending and civil rights. Do more research before endoirsing someone.
How's that Thompson endorsement working out for ya? Before you regurgitate MSM propaganda about Iran, Iraq, or any country on THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE WORLD, make sure to investigate the REAL reason why our government is meddling over there. It's not for democracy or nation building (how bout build up our nation & patrol our borders), but because Iraq & Iran didn't sell their souls to Kissinger for control of their oil & prices. Iran dumped USD.
USD=US dollar. Selling cheaper oil around world in Euro=bad news for our economy that depends on us and other controlled nations to pay down our country's out of control national debt=bad news for IMF and world bank=U.S. elitist government find any reason to kick Iran's ass=we will pay the price for being sheep to MSM when the dollar crashes and we lose the rest of our civil rights=sad state of America
Thompson was my second and only other choice for Republican, but the undeclared and unconstitutional warfare is the difference maker. I recommend watching the documentary "Why We Fight". You can watch the whole thing online if you want by googling it.
Don't forget that our country was once allies with crazy guys like um Saddam Hussein and ummm Osama Bin Laden. And our country's CIA has removed leaders from other countries & replaced them with dictators like ummm Pervez Musharraf. The majority of Pakistan hates Musharraf. Now our country wants to take him out after giving him a fortune to capture Osama. Very frugal with that borrowed money from China. B-L-O-W-B-A-C-K.
So continue to believe Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. Continue to believe we have to spread democracy around the world when there isn't any here in America. We are supposed to be a republic by the way. Continue to believe that Iran is an imminent threat with nuke technology when they don't even have the capacity to refine their own oil. They can't even afford a battle let alone a war. Iranian people are not who you think they are.
(part I) I respect your thinking. It sounds intuitive and logical. Except for the war. But like you said, you have a right to an opinion. I know Ron Paul is against the war, but I think, truly, Ron Paul is the best thing for our ever growing and oppressive government.
(part II) We can not win the war, but we can save our country. As far as the abortion thing goes, I agree with you, but he has SOOO many things going for him, that are in the best interest for you... me... and everyone except for those people you see sitting on the porch on your way to work--and the people walking the streets at 12:00 at night breaking into your home as you sleep. Those people are dependent upon the government for welfare, which you pay for with YOUR job.
(Part III) Besides, Roe vs. Wade is going to be a tough one to over turn, even for a president. Please vote Ron Paul in your primary, and again in the general election.
Please don't think I'm being mean. But, Fred Thompson is a Member of the CFR. Supports the NAU and the NAFTA Highway. Chose acting over the US congress. And as a lobbyist, lobbyied Bush sr. For less abortion restriction. He never voted to reduce the size of government. He has voted on bills that increased taxes. He supported Reagans 3 amnsety bill. He has never given a clear definition of what "Winning in Iraq" is. I supported Fred Thompson before I knew anything. Now I support Ron Paul.
which surveys some of the economic problems plaguing Michigan and the nation, and the ideas of the one man with a viable solution, rooted in freedom and peace:
So, we should continue to borrow from and put our children in debt (in large part to China) to fund the people of Iraq who largely resent such help? Being against this absurdity is being pro American, such as is Ron Paul.
MANY iraq people/political players don't resent our help. They are glad that Saddam is out of power and they have a chance at a government that is working for them, not against them and that oppresses them. Many of them are urging us to stay and finish the job over there because they know if we go, the extremist element in their society could take over and revert it right back to an oppressive regime once again. You have been listening to to much liberal propaganda.
The majority of Iraqi's don't want the U.S. in Iraq - that is a fact, check any poll you want on this. In anycase, I don't see why the U.S. should be borrowing billions to pay for this when we have far more pressing problems at home. If you want to help them fine -- just don't make our children indebted to China and other powers as a result.
Oh no! Some polls showed some Iraqi's don't want us there? We better pull out now! *Rolls eyes* I wonder if these polls were taken by some of these pollsters that showed Obama was going to beat Clinton in NH by double digits? There must be a level of common sense applied to the situation in Iraq. When they are able to govern and defend themselves properly, then that is the time to pull out. We owe it to the Iraqis and our soldiers who have sacrificed so much to see it through to completion.
Rackmen - Quite simply, again, most Iraqi's do not demonstrate they suppurt U.S. occupation. Further, our leaders should serve the American public, not the interest of a small group in Iraq. And keeping our hard working U.S. soldiers in Iraq does them no favor; they would rather be home. Since you feel so stongly about this issue, I hope you have voluntered you services to Iraq.
You are not using your head. If we were to pull out before a stable government is in place, there is no telling who or what kind of elements would come into power. You don't just overthrow an oppressive government, than just leave the people of the land high and dry before another government is firmly in place so that they can adequately govern themselves. America bears the responsibility of invading and they are doing the right and honorable thing by sticking in there and finishing the job.
Rackmen - No one knows when Iraq can have a "stable" government in place (100 years?) And even if they do get a stable government, it may not be one you like (such as one ruled by muslim fundementalist). You may believe in all the high ideals certain leaders claim they are trying to achieve in Iraq, but, as any serious student of international affairs will tell you, reality is not so nice. In anycase, the U.S. simply can't afford this and the real rival, China, is laughing.
You're right in one aspect. It may be awhile before we see a fully functional government there, but nevertheless, it is our duty to see it through since we decided to invade and wipe out the tyranny of Saddam. Also...
As for the type of government, no one in their right minds thinks that a Iraq government will be like an American government, but a working functional one, along with a military/police force that is able to defend itself so they can maintain control from the extremist/criminal elements in their society is the goal. That way, when we do pull out, little by little, there will be something in place to fill the vacuum and will be able to maintain their Country on their own.
I appreciate your efforts in the matter, however I don't think you have responded to concerns regarding affordability of this effort & just what this wanted mythical "stable" Iraq really means (i.e. -- something pro-western or a democracy such as Iran).

yes, crazy. Here is a quick language update.
Crazy \ˈkrā-zē\ 1a. full of cracks or flaws : unsound
what is full of flaws or unsound about voting for Fred? He has no clue of what causes inflation, nor the solutions to the problem. He is intellectually, fiscally deficient. He thinks he can 'win' a war that can't be won because we started the invasion. I know that might be hard for you pro-war people to wrap your head around but use logic. I like Fred, but I prefer Ron Paul. Ron Paul has a better grasp of the economic issues affecting our country. The more we go into debt because of the Iraq war, the lower the dollar will sink. Is that really what you want?
What you all who think we should pull out of Iraq as soon as possible don't understand is that if we were to do that, chaos and disorder would be at an all time high and their is no telling who would sieze power there. I want to thank you for supporting Fred Thompson. The GOP has fallen away from its principles of smaller government, lower taxes, and following the Constitution. Fred Thompson is the right man to get our party, and country, back on track. It is really a no brainer when I was examining all of the candidates and their records, Thompson is by far the only conservative in the race. I give Ron Paul credit for his domestic policy but I think his foreign policy is unrealistic and dangerous.
What exactly should constitute someone to vote for a candidate?
What they stand for and substance or if they hug enough babies, get major media coverage and shake enough hands?
Thompson is one of the few that actually doesn't make me yawn. He is clearly one of the more sincere candidates who cares more about the things he thinks that will bring about a better America more than trying to appease the masses and watching the polls. Substance is far more important than charisma.
Pauls foreign policy is like a football defensive coordinator designing a defense that only operates from the one yard line!
I used to be a dumbocrat.I became a Republican.Go to "Club for Growth" and click on Ron Pauls picture. Seems Ron Paul loves Pork! And.."often is aligned with the most extreme democratic liberals..."
No,Ron Paul is not the man. FRED THOMPSON IS THE ONLY CONSERVATIVE IN THE RACE!!!
Let me remind you that Iraq had, on many occassions, violated UN resolutions and fired on our aircraft in an attempt to shoot them down. This is a direct act of war and we could have gone in THEN!
I'm not willing to let an American die for your isolationist viewpoints, just so you can feel slighted enough to do something.
SuperAtheist During the Cuban Missile crisis we blockaded Cuba after discovering nuclear weapons there. A blockade of a soveriegn state is an act of war, so your view that a pre-emptive strike is "Un-American" is wrong.
Your name "SuperAtheist" lends suspicion to any view of morality that you may hold.
we had nukes in turkey and that's why Russia wanted nukes in Cuba. JFK agreed to remove the nukes in turkey and Russia did the same in Cuba. that's called diplomacy, not preemptive strike. a blockade is an act of war but it is not a strike.
you've been schooled and dismissed! GO Liberty! Go RON PAUL!!!
PS Your lack of personal info on your channel lends suspicion to any view of morality that you may hold.
The Soviet Union's plan was world-wide domination. We were warned of this by Churchill, but FDR felt we could "negotiate" with them. In 1946 the Soviet Union blockaded Berlin, which triggered the cold war.
Paul should learn from other "diplomacy" failures...such as Neville Chamberlain with Adolf Hitler. A failure which led to the deaths of millions in a pre-nuclear age.
Duplomacy should always be the first choice, but sad to say, diplomacy doesn't work in every situation some out there that will not respond to it and, in turn, you must put the hammer down. It would be nice if police officers could just "talk" to crimnals and get them from commiting crimes, but that is just not the case, sometimes force is necessary. The same princple applies to politics and world affairs, at times. Don't be navie.
SuperAtheist Again you are incorrect. While Germany was liquidating Jews during the Holocaust, Ghandhi recommended to Winston Churchill, leader of Great Britain that he "surrender" to the Nazis. Churchill refused, allowing Western Europe to be freed and millions to be saved. Funny how Ghandhi lovers don't bring that up. ..Ron Paul would have accused Churchill of "meddling"
SuperAtheist...again you are incorrect. Saddams father, Saddam Hussein (yup, same name!)was involved with the Nazi's during WW2. Desiring power, Saddam jr seized power by murdering all his rivals in the late 70's/early 80's. He then attacked Iran, which had overthrown the Shah and held, as hostage, our embassy.
SuperAtheist lets try a different tack. If you are so sure that our CIA is so effective, then why don't they do it again? You are a hypocrite if you believe they did it then, (so effectively!) but now seem to be impotent!
A smart man learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Which will you be? GO FRED!!! aimsure signing off...
WTH? Saddam was a brutal, evil tyrant that tortured and killed thousands upon thousands of people. The fact that you think America is somehow the "bad guy" in this war is quite disturbing and almost borderline psycho, even if there was no weapons of mass destruction found. Some may of disagree with the war and/or the timing of it, but no one in their right minds who is aware of Saddam's ex-regime could possibly say America is the "bad guy". Open your eyes and use your head!
"Saddam was a brutal, evil tyrant that tortured and killed thousands upon thousands of people."
that was true from the very beginning when we put him in power and our government was completely ok with that as long as he did what he was told. the American people were informed of his crimes only when he stopped doing what he was told.
Where did you hear that mumbo jumbo at? Saddam worked himself up through the ranks. Study up about him and his rise to power, but make sure what you read comes from a reliable source, not some liberal, blame America first propaganda. America has always tryed to work diplomatically with leaders in the Middle East, Saddam included, but it's hard to work with people who want you destroyed off the map. Saddam was a ruthless mass murderer that was finally brought to justice. I say bon voyage!
And just for the record. When I said ranks, I was referring to partaking in assination attempts, partaking in leading revolts, fixed elections and the list goes on.
I agree with everything you said. It's almost like you stole my thoughts. Fred holds to basic conservative principles and doesn't beat around the bush and speaks clearly when stating them instead of playing to the media. Less baby hugging photo opps and pandering and more substance and straight forwardness. Fred in 2008!
PS - By the way, I'm with some of the others. You're pretty smokin'. Maybe you could be the You Tube's "Thompson girl" to counter the "Obama girl". Haha. ;)
"Hi! I like Fred Thompson! I dont really get anyone else.. But Fred is on TV so I really like that, and he speaks so simply even I can understand him! Everyone else is just too stupid to talk so I can understand. Anyway I have to get back to my happy funtime. buhbye!"
im from TN and fred will not do anything about ellegal imagration he said when he fist started and i took my name down off his web site and wrote him told him that i would be moving to the ron paul campain i just have to beleive someone about the border ron paul will do what it
"I'm not particularly interested in running for president," Thompson said, but rather he feels called to serve his country. From a Bill Theobald of Gannett News Service interview in USA Today.
No offense, but how could you vote for a man who's heart really isn't in his own campaign?
Please take another look at Ron Paul. He has the record to back up everything he says.
Im for Obama but i like ron paul, Fred thompson...geez, that it a wasted vote, he may not even be in the race by then. realistically, he doesnt have the money or the support to go on much longer, besides, he is clueless.
You must not have listened to Ron Paul. And some of Thompsons responses the past month or two have been copied from Ron Paul. Research !There is no war in Iraq. There has been an invasion. The U.S. did the invading. There is no victory because there was no war declared. Soldiers are being killed because of mistakes from the U.S. side. Harsh reality !
Do me a favor, just take a hard look at Ron Paul's voting record and watch some of his speeches and answers to questions. I think he might change your mind on winning the war.(Our presence is causing all the strife) And if he does that, then you will have a candidate who agrees with you on everything. At least check it out.
I thought all pretty ladies are for Ron Paul? Well you can always change your mind. If you want to continue to use the internet freely you must vote for Ron Paul. I don't want anybody to say what you can say on the internet. I sure would miss your your pretty face and enlightening views.
I respect your opinion, but I think you haven't closely enough to Ron Paul. He has extremely well educated, an expert and author in the field of economics, and with a small amount of homework I believe you will see just how badly we need a true fiscal conservative in the White House.
Juli, while you may be cute you seem to be supporting someone who has voted for increased taxes over history. Just beacuse a candidate talks a good game doesnt mean they will bring that to the field on game day. Now that he dropped out the only REAL conservative choice is Ron Paul because he has actually sent bills to Congress requesting change in froeign policy, spending and civil rights. have you been watching the republican debates?
thompson is a yawn.
exactly what constitutes winning the war?
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
What exactly should constitute someone to vote for a candidate?
What they stand for and substance or if they hug enough babies, get major media coverage and shake enough hands?
Thompson is one of the few that actually doesn't make me yawn. He is clearly one of the more sincere candidates who cares more about the things he thinks that will bring about a better America more than trying to appease the masses and watching the polls. Substance is far more important than charisma.

^That was suppose to be a reply to SuperAtheist's comment. For some reason the reply button did not fuction properly. Hmm...
Rackmen 4 years ago
"Substance is far more important than charisma."
Ron Paul has both and no one has more sincerity, just compare their voting records.
according to fred are economy is fine and there is no reason to worry about a recession. I've listened to fred and he is not in touch with reality.
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
Pauls foreign policy is like a football defensive coordinator designing a defense that only operates from the one yard line!
I used to be a dumbocrat.I became a Republican.Go to "Club for Growth" and click on Ron Pauls picture. Seems Ron Paul loves Pork! And.."often is aligned with the most extreme democratic liberals..."
No,Ron Paul is not the man. FRED THOMPSON IS THE ONLY CONSERVATIVE IN THE RACE!!!

Pro-war IS NOT CONSERVATIVE!!!!
stop drinking the kool-aid!
preemptive strike is unAmerican!
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
Let me remind you that Iraq had, on many occassions, violated UN resolutions and fired on our aircraft in an attempt to shoot them down. This is a direct act of war and we could have gone in THEN!
I'm not willing to let an American die for your isolationist viewpoints, just so you can feel slighted enough to do something.
GO FRED!!!
aimsure 4 years ago
let me remind you we've been bombing Iraq for ten years!
we've been medaling in the middle east since the 50s. 14 of the 911 hijackers were Saudi but we are still allies with them.
no preemptive war is not an isolationist viewpoint, it's a moral viewpoint.
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
SuperAtheist During the Cuban Missile crisis we blockaded Cuba after discovering nuclear weapons there. A blockade of a soveriegn state is an act of war, so your view that a pre-emptive strike is "Un-American" is wrong.
Your name "SuperAtheist" lends suspicion to any view of morality that you may hold.
You are dismissed. GO FRED!!
aimsure 4 years ago
we had nukes in turkey and that's why Russia wanted nukes in Cuba.
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
The Soviet Union's plan was world-wide domination. We were warned of this by Churchill, but FDR felt we could "negotiate" with them. In 1946 the Soviet Union blockaded Berlin, which triggered the cold war.
Paul should learn from other "diplomacy" failures...such as Neville Chamberlain with Adolf Hitler. A failure which led to the deaths of millions in a pre-nuclear age.
Peace through strength. GO FRED!!
aimsure 4 years ago
Duplomacy should always be the first choice, but sad to say, diplomacy doesn't work in every situation some out there that will not respond to it and, in turn, you must put the hammer down. It would be nice if police officers could just "talk" to crimnals and get them from commiting crimes, but that is just not the case, sometimes force is necessary. The same princple applies to politics and world affairs, at times. Don't be navie.

rackmen,
tell it to Gandhi!
I guess according to you Gandhi was naive, but he was right, strong and he won!
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
SuperAtheist Again you are incorrect. While Germany was liquidating Jews during the Holocaust, Ghandhi recommended to Winston Churchill, leader of Great Britain that he "surrender" to the Nazis. Churchill refused, allowing Western Europe to be freed and millions to be saved. Funny how Ghandhi lovers don't bring that up. ..Ron Paul would have accused Churchill of "meddling"
aimsure 4 years ago
"Ron Paul would have accused Churchill of "meddling"" NO he would not. Just ask him.
hitler was the aggressor, he started the war.
Now America starts the wars, just like nazi germany. and you're ok with that.
you are a traitor!
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
Once more, you are incorrect.
Iraq invaded Kuwait and did not comply to UN resolution to withdraw. This led to Desert Storm.
People who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I, for one, am glad that Paul will never get the chance to repeat history.

you're a hopeless waist of my time!
isreal wanted to handle it but bush said no and committed our resources and lives.
what would be so wrong with letting isreal take care of it. and don't forget, we put saddam in power in the 1st place.
you're the one who is not learning from history!
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
SuperAtheist...again you are incorrect. Saddams father, Saddam Hussein (yup, same name!)was involved with the Nazi's during WW2. Desiring power, Saddam jr seized power by murdering all his rivals in the late 70's/early 80's. He then attacked Iran, which had overthrown the Shah and held, as hostage, our embassy.

with the help of our CIA!
the CIA have already admitted putting saddam in power.
just like we put Musharraf in power.

Rackmen 4 years ago
Rackmaen
"Saddam was a brutal, evil tyrant that tortured and killed thousands upon thousands of people."
that was true from the very beginning when we put him in power and our government was completely ok with that as long as he did what he was told. the American people were informed of his crimes only when he stopped doing what he was told.
"Open your eyes and use your head!"
that's good advice, you should follow it.
SuperAtheist 4 years ago
Where did you hear that mumbo jumbo at? Saddam worked himself up through the ranks. Study up about him and his rise to power, but make sure what you read comes from a reliable source, not some liberal, blame America first propaganda. America has always tryed to work diplomatically with leaders in the Middle East, Saddam included, but it's hard to work with people who want you destroyed off the map. Saddam was a ruthless mass murderer that was finally brought to justice. I say bon voyage!
Rackmen 4 years ago

Haha. ;)

At least check it out.
hibraisil 4 years ago
You just described Ron Paul's platform! Not Fred, Fred has always said one thing and done another. At least Paul has a record to support what he says.
Oh well, another wasted vote given away too easily.
