I love these songs but the drums need a little more work. Its almost the same crash pattern every time. tsh-tsht-tsh-tsht-tsh-tsht-tsh-tsht-tsh-tshhhhhh
Just bought ur 3 first albums, and payed what I consider is a nice way to say "thanx for the epic music"-amount of dollars! Keep em coming, this is zen!
@AlexPrinzo I just type it the way I think when I play the song. Thinking about it, it probably could have written it a little better, but that is the pattern I follow, and it sounds just right when I play it. Or so I think :)
I've learnt the song by ear, and the groupings from 0:59 go like this: 2-2-2-3 2-2-3-2 2-3-2-2-3 2-2-1, just count like this, and it should work for you. It is easy to understand once you figure out how many sets of notes there are, which happens to be 15 grouped within 4 patterns alternating between B and D#. Remarkably simple, yet incredibly powerful and intense. This song is by far my Cloudkicker favorite. I'll get a tab up, but I won't try and get all the layers.
@Cuddrow I like to think of it as a sort of "hitch" in each measure, 1st hitch on the 4th part of the measure, then 2nd hitch on the 3rd part, 3rd hitch on the 2nd, and then 4th hitch on the 1st part. That's how I got it, anyway. Still my favorite riff to play :)
@Cuddrow You're totally right. I learned the beginning of bulb's mr person pretty quickly by doing the same method of counting the groupings although that part is a lot simpler. After that, it's cake and amazingly badass to play. Thanks!
@Cuddrow does realy somebody care about this? lol i know guys who can play technical things like best jent bands... listen to this song... say more than 1000 words...
@haklbarry2 I'd say it's very relevant to anyone who wants to learn it, and pretty decent of the dude to take the time to tell everyone. At least his comment didn't just bring someone else's down haha...
hopefully this is my final post on the subject.....upon FURTHER review, I think the final pattern is only ever a 2/1-1 XD Okay thanks for your time yaaaaaaaall.
Okay, seems as though I was correct on everything but the final pattern.....seems like it's never actually a 3-2-2, it's a 3-2 sometimes, and sometimes maybe only a 2.......meh.:P
After having listened to this band for months, I finally figured out last night the pattern of the section starting at 0:59......
The extra beat lands on the 4th then 3rd then 2nd then 1st of the 3-2-2 patterns......so it goes 3-2-2, 3-2-2, 3-2-2, 2-3-2-2; 3-2-2, 3-2-2, 2-3-2-2, 3-2-2; 3-2-2, 2-3-2-2, 3-2-2, 3-2-2; 2-3-2-2, 3-2-2, 3-2-2, 3-2-2.......then slightly later on the final 3-2-2 changes into a 3-2. Booya!!
