Frankly they should just abandon this and have a group of ranking Juniors come out around the ring, stand in a line on both sides and just arch swords instead of this. yea the fact that this sucked so bad wasn't their fault...the school didn't give them the proper time to prepare and get it right. they're more worried about mother fucking corps squad shitbags making their teams look good in the stats column and pulling upperclassmen for enforcing a system on the knobs like they're supposed to. the administration of that school is fucking up everything. the sad part? a lot of them are alumni. You have got to be kidding me. High-stepping completely out of synch at 3:36 and 4:57 and all through it. Drawing swords out of synch at 3:30. Intervals out of synch at 3:16. Etc. What happened to precision, at least as we knew it in '69?
When you look at the way the Citadel does drill & ceremony from the outside, it's a pathetic joke. The style of drill that JSD and the Summerall Guards do is retarded compared to serious drill units like the Army's 3rd Infantry Regt or Marine's 8th & I. But this is sad compared to even the normal El Cid standard. Well, some things never change, that place continues to go down the sewer.
Let's clarify something here... this is NOT Junior Sword Drill. It's disappointing to have the Junior Sword anything moniker attached to something that, in no way, resembles JSD. Whether it's the fault of these guys for not having the time, location, etc. to practice (as stated below), I don't know. BUT, The Citadel administration should take more pride in their "elite" drill teams to ensure that the performance is presentable and meets, at least, minimum standards. This doesn't!
As a Citadel grad, I'm embarrased that they don't know how to march in step. They look like a centipede they are so out of step. I would be amazed if they actually practiced more than two weeks on this drill.
thats what happens when the school takes time away from practice and the basket ball team is more important than the JSA team getting practice in........ dont get on us about the performance when we got screwed in every direction
