  • So this organ has a 12' stop on the manual? Where can I find the disposition of this organ? I'd like to know.

  • @keyboardjeff Hi. Hmmm I thought it was online but then could not find it either.

Manual I (lower) 8' (open wood), 4' (metal principle) ,2', 12th, 17th. Upper manual 8' stopt diapason, 4' open flute, 8' trumpet. Pedal 16' stopt sub bass. and 8' tpt, tremulent to the whole organ. All tracker action.

  • Lucky you to have such an instrument in your home. Those things are astronomically expensive!!

  • Guten Orgel!

  • Something's not right....?

  • @simmuns What do you mean? Soundwise?

  • Seem to be reading and playing the bass as a treble clef in the Bach???

  • @simmuns Hello, perhaps you are being thrown by the 12' stop I have on top of the 8'.

  • I envy you so much! Clavichords, harpsichords, piano and organ in your home! Do you have pedal on that organ to? Beutiful!

  • @HerrWarja Yes, there is a pedal. I don't have any pedal technique. If you want to hear the pedal on this organ, check out the channel of SFBonedoc.

  • Why there is always a fifth above the bass note?? Especially when you are using the lower keyboard playing Bach's minuet.

  • Hi Alex,

Very perceptive ear! I have a common organ stop on- its called the Twelfe. It uses a set up pipes tuned an octave and a fifth above the bass. It can be part of the organ sound.

  • I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for posting. There is something so immediate and authentic (don't know how else to describe it) about the sound of a house organ. Also of course, your performance was equaly enjoyable.

I'd love to hear Bach's Trio Sonata (any of the parts). You must know it... Isn't it a rite of passage for most organists?

  • Thank you, Green4321. I don't know how to play the pedals, so I can't play any of the Trio Sonatas. The technique I'm using to play the organ keyboard is the one I developed by studying the harpsichord.

  • Where did you purchase that organ?

  • requiemaeturnum,

It comes from A. David Moore in Vermont. He custom builds each organ.

  • Well, maybe you should buy another house :)

Very good choice of pieces and registration. Thanks for uploading this interesting vid.

  • WOW neat Organ and in your home.... ♫♪♫

  • Hi organpipe8, we feel grateful and very fortunate to have it.

  • Beautiful! Love the organ sound. I want one in my house too :)

  • Thank you, Paul. I admire that you are composing in the Baroque tradition.

  • Dude, good to see and hear you playing the Moore house organ. Nice registration. The touch on this instrument, as you know, is similar to the touch of a well regulated harpsichord (both of which differ substantially from piano touch). Let's hear more organ music from you!

  • Dude you got pianos, harpsichords and organs all over your house. That's so cool! You play well by the way =)

    Celeron

  • i was gonna say the same thing as linx0r2, I knew you had a couple of harpsichords, but now i see in recent vids a piano and this... a bloody church organ in your living room, and you humbly call it a "house organ" what a classic! hehe what next a Carillion ?!?! : )

  • Hi Dan,

We've also got the clavichord. BUT THAT IS IT! No more room for more instruments. I used to dream of a copy of the 3 manual Hass harpsichord that Puyana has but I can't imagine taking care of it and tuning it (16, 8,8, 4,4, and even a 2!)

We are beyond maxed out with the # of insttruments here.

  • Why the swearing? Also, what has organs got to do with church? It is a house organ. Also, it is Carillon, rather than Carillion.

  • Cindermakers, your comment ended up in my comments box. Danofsydney won't see it.

  • Thank you, Celeron!

  • What tuning is used for this organ?

  • Hi spectral, its in Kellner but of course it could use a good touch up tuning.

  • You might be interested in the recently discovered 'Bach tuning'. Sound excellent! Not sure how it works for organs in general as some have alternate settings for sharp/flats. (see Bach-Lehman temperament).

  • Hi spectral, yes BDL has kindly taken the time to explain how to tune his temperament but have not tried it yet.

  • Nice to see you having fun with that organ. :) I love how you lift your hands off at the end - with that serious look on your face! ;p Your dedication is inspiring.

  • Thank you!

  • WOW!!!!

    This is absolutely beautiful!

  • Hi, thank you! I can relate to your synesthesia a little bit. Different sounds make different shapes in my mind.

  • I just got the key information I needed AND YOU HAVE SYNESTHESIA.

The colors i see in the Minuet on the ORGAN are blue, light purple, orange, and GREEN in the bass. I see colors in ANY SOUND. What colors do you have for this piece?

  • thanks Christo - how lovely to have organ music in your home.

  • Thanks for dropping by!

  • I really love that you have that organ in your home. It's great! Thank you so very much for sharing your music. I enjoyed it very much!

  • Thank you, Ravensong!

  • Nice music! Bravo ;)

  • Thank you, jeanseborg.
