A hurricane is characterised by a complete white sheet of spray that blows continuously from wave top to wave top; so that one doesn't see down into the troughs at all. All you see is a giant wihite sheet rippling maniacally; and the sound is of screaming. It's unforgettable, it can't be mistaken for anthing else; and this ain't it. Why they anounced otherwise on the passenger anouncements, I have no idea.
@0724357481 For everyone who thinks differently, I'm not a meteorologist, I'm only repeating what it said on every screen on board that ship when they closed all the decks off for two days, it didn't say storm, blizzard or tornado, but clearly stated HURRICANE - and it was just down from Nova Scotia if I remember, a notoriously treacherous part of the Atlantic.
This is not a hurricane around a force 5 , 6 at the most even the stabillizers wouldnt stop it rolling in a force 8 or 9 and you say this is a hurricane. seas are like this fairly often , however cruise ships navigate to avoid slightly bad weather . were as cargo ships i have been on just plow straight through them and Lash everything down
Well that's what it said in red on all the tv screens on board & why they closed the decks for two days running. Suppose you had to be there..........
Are u ok?

That's cool. I don't think it's a hurricane though. Hurricanes level entire cities. Like hurricane Katrina and Andrew.

The usual winter sea squals of the cost of NY around 250 miles past the US international limits.

it wasn't a hurricane, just a small storm. i'm saying this because i was there, it was outside new york, and the waves weren't higher than 7 meters.
it is a nice image though, the higher you get, so at 9 deck it was really nice to see.

The stabilizers are keeping her very stable. It is amazing the power of those underwater fins when a cruise ship hits rough weather.

That would explain the droplets on the camera.

Nothing like a hurricane. Nice footage, however.
