His face sure looks like the pictures I've seen of a vizla. If he is an older dog, it could explain the extra weight and why he's not so lean now! He's just precious. !The vet CAN do a DNA test to tell- we have a Ridgeback mix- we think! We thought about the DNA test for 200.00 bucks- but have'nt done it yet- not that we care, but it would be neat to know-- for sure!
I think his face looks just like a Vizla also. I have looked at lots of breeds cause everyone is always trying to guess what breed Chester is. Out of all i have seen, his face looks like Visla, but i am pretty sure he is more lab then anything, and maybe some visla in him. One thing is for sure, he sure does sniff out any scent. Our chesters nose is always sniffing the air or ground for something. We love him just like he is, as i can tell u do your ridgeback mix. We say chester is lab mix.
doesn't look like anything like my wire hair vizslas...tail is too thick and hairy, and overall body shape, size, and there is ALOT of white on that dogs belly. Maybe like a half breed or something, but not any vizlsla i've seen looks like that dog
Our Dog Chester was adopted from a shelter. People are always trying to guess his breed? After reading about the Wire Haired Vizslas i am wondering if its possible that Chester has Vizslas in him? Anyone who knows about this breed please comment?
When taking pictures or taping a dog, always do it from the dog's level (on the floor). That way we can see how his body is put together! We really can't tell how tall he is or how long his legs are. He looks pretty short in the leg. I doubt he has Vizsla in him, but more like a soft coated terrier or something. He is a cutie tho!
I'm thinking now maybe WV and Golden Retriever instead of a Chessie. I definitely see Vizsla in those eyes. He's pretty.
