It is fucking disgusting how these people would use Ron Paul's dead friend as a political point. FUCKING DISGUSTING. Shit like this only solidifies to me that libertarians are the only honest and moral Americans left.
If he had $400k in medical bills and had no insurance, doesn't seem like anyone turned him away from the hospital. This man must have had some serious health issues. He probably could have not even gotten insurance with his health.
within some years when china becomes the world currency all those stupid americans sheeps will die on the street except those 20% who now have 84% of the wealth by bribing presidents so the coorperations and banks have plunderrights. on the one hand they want nobody to die because of disease but on the other millions got poor and live on the streetsbecause of all those insurances, taxes and regulations... such hypocrits
A man runs for president and says "What is this idea that you have to prepare and take care of everybody" Anyone voting for Ron Paul may aswell take a gun to their own heads then...
The Hospital has not gone after his family, if they do and Ron Paul requests help from his supporters it would likely get paid.
I have to give CNN credit for actually being somewhat fair here, frankly, if the Dems would stop their warm mongering (see GW Bush's 3rd term by YOUR president) I would compromise on it. He tried to get insurance and was refused, NOT the same!
So if a guy eats McDonalds for every meal, never excercises and is Obese should the taxpayer foot the bill? Absurd!
@jmsazboy But what about the person who has worked their entire life and then contracts a serious disease and has to blow through all their savings and sell off everything they have worked for just to eventually run out of money and die, and leave their family with nothing.
And how are the democrats war mongerers for continuing a war started by a REPUBLICAN president
They are idiots. When he says the community and friends can get together to help, he isn't talking about raising money. He's talking about community doctors and nurses volunteering their time at free clinics.
@siesprowse How was it a smear attempt? They presented the facts of the story and presented both sides very fairly. Just because a media agency doesn't metaphorically suck Ron Paul's cock doesn't make it a smear attempt. You wanna know a smear attempt, retarded Paulites who go around slavishly commenting angrily at everything that isn't holding up Ron Paul as the reincarnation of jesus, they make Ron Paul look bad
@iseezapie just b\c the media suck your cock and tell you what you want to hear doesn't mean it's not a smear attempt. the rest of the money got written of by the hospital and the insurance company didn't deny him coverage. He declined b\c the premiums were high. Don't forget your war mongering by your Obama in libya. There's another in uganda he added not too long ago. You're a racist left-wing tea-bagging religious nut with less jesus.
He died, but got treatment. He got treatment without insurance. Plus they miss Ron Paul's other point that costs are so high because of Government intervention.
@LiveFreeorDieReport "Plus they miss Ron Paul's other point that costs are so high because of Government intervention"
Which is stupid ... the reason because government healthcare in European states is cheaper, is because the government says they pay $12345 for this and not a single cent more, because that's what this surgery or medicine is worth.
More dollars in circulation = less each dollar is worth = higher prices on all things. Instead of raising $400,000 for medical care, why not employ tactics to fix the economy, so that the amount of care costing $400,000 can cost as little as say, $5,000 or $10,000? You think the $50,000 Paul's supporters raised could cover $5,000? Eliminate the national debt by eliminating the Fed, returning us to the gold standard, ridding unconstitutional regulation (which drives up costs), and watch...
@RyYajn Do you realize that even without printing money $400.000 would never become $10.000? Maybe you would end up with $375.000 ... great that changes everything. And you completely ignore that with less dollars in circulation the people wages would go down and thereby there donations would go down the same way. If $400.000 equals $10.000, they would just have raised $1250.
What's awesome about this is how much you'll be able to tell about people just by their opinion of this story. People that take the "Ron Paul/Libertarians are bad guys" stance, will clearly have never held a book written by Mises or Hayek or the like. People who say, "wow, this guy really means what he says" will probably be able to engage you in a discussion about economics, and more often than not, you'll probably learn something from them.

Why doesn't Paultard just pay the $400,000?
scitops 3 months ago
@scitops The 50,000 was agreed to cover the hospital bill. Ron Paul did what he could to get Kent's needed treatment.

He didn't die because he got worse care than someone who had insurance. That's ridiculous. He had the same care. Him dying had nothing to do with it.

The hospital is in for the profits, not because of human compassion, that's why they probably let him die.
