  • ENGLISH TEAR matin SCOOP MOTO buy sell wanted

  • AVGN needs to review this.

  • Hell yeah... Lot of Fun i had with my friend on that... remember like it was yesterday. we beat the shit out of that horde :D

  • Looks like a poor man's flash version of double dragon , and i OWN the amiga, lol

  • @were1974

On the Amiga, DD was ALWAYS poor.

  • No epic stage 1 music?

    FAIL!

  • Johnny Bravo had an arcade game!??!?

  • This game was a total crap, nevertheless I played and finished it many times

  • I've been a fan of dd for yrs but this right here is by far the gayest thing I've every seen. It like a bunch of richard simmonds running around with jerry curls!!!

  • Cool ~ better than the live version :)

  • I remember playing this at my cousins house in my teens, even back then we thought it was garbage because we were HUGE fans of the arcade and we both knew the Amiga should've done a near perfect conversion. To its credit, the backgrounds are very close, but the Lee fighters look like dykes, the 'throwing up' sound is silly, and having no music just destroys the atmosphere. Shame.....

  • This is shocking, the Amiga could have produced a near perfect conversion. How could the devs look at this and think, "Yeah, that's great.."?

The Atari 2600 version is better.

And credit to the Gameboy Advance version for putting in every loved feature from every version of DD. Including this amusing vomiting death sound.

  • Austin 3:16 says: gimme a hell yeah!

  • Every time I try to record footage of Double Dragon on the Amiga I never get any sound from it, it's silent after the title screen :S

  • Damn...they take alot of damage!!! Then they throw up.

  • This was possibly the most disappointing arcade conversion to ever see the light of day on the Amiga. I remember trying to persuade myself that it was good...but it wasn't. Gameplay was sub-standard and the graphics were shockingly poor.

  • LMAOOOO @ noise when they die! "eeuuugglaahh!" lol!

  • LMAO the dying sound is so funny! but wait something is missing...*click click click click click click click click click*...aaahhh that's better. amigajoysticksound

  • @JasonLee215 Quite right.....Thanks for the correction.....

Binary Design are to blame for the programming, and Melbourne House for unleashing this diahorrea upon our disk drives (And cassette for those who had the tape version on the c64 too) and charging good money for the privilage. .....All because they had the rights to a much beloved licence....which they destroyed in totally half assed fashion.

  • by the way kicks and punches sound more like hitting wooden boxes or shutting a door!! abain vomit sound rulz!! lol

p.s. loved it at the arcades!!

  • vomit rocks!!! ;D

  • Six full on baseball bat hits to take someone down. Just like reality.

  • this should've been so much better on the amiga! blatant rushed cash-in on the arcade machines popularity rather than some effort put in. the amiga could've done the soundtrack justice for starters! terrible!

  • This looks pretty identical to the Atari ST version

  • we used to play this with my brother and kick the shit out of each other

  • This is horrible! A disgrace to the Amiga!

The sound effects & screams are hilarious though! Lol! :)

  • lol what a shame!!!

this game sucks.. the only cool thing is when they die xD they are vomiting xD nes version is better..

  • I could never forgive how sh*t Amiga DD1 was. What I don't understand is how the Amiga could have done a near strait port. Yet Hit Squad seemed to think this was acceptable.

  • @stufaman Actually liability lies at the door of 'Melbourne House'.... They programmed this atrocity.

'Hitsquad' was the budget-re-release label this was out on a couple of years after it first came out..

But, yes....damn Hitsquad for redistributing this awful blasphemy. For it, like its C64 counterpart is the literal representation of what a game would be like if it were physically made from nothing but dog feces.

  • @Guitarsthatkill Cheers for that. But still, the Amiga was capable of producing a near arcade perfect port. Even the Atrai 2600 version was better than this.

  • @stufaman No argument there!!! :) What tragic waste.

At least DD2 was better. That was like the best non-coinop version around back then.

Still not as cool as a perfect port of DD1 would have been, but at least it showed us what COULD have been done. This is why I believe you're right.

  • @Guitarsthatkill Yeah, I had to wait till the Gameboy Advance version for the perfect(ish) DD home game, Ah as it should have been.

  • @stufaman I saw a vid of that today. It looked great. I'll have to get a cheap advance and a copy one day..

Super Double Dragon was fun on the SNES, but nothing like the coin-op original.

  • @Guitarsthatkill It was made purely for DD fans. So they used the GB's added power for more levels and more badguys on screen. It is DD paradise.

  • @stufaman Definitely sounds/looks right up my street.

(A street littered with the corpses of Abobo, Jeff, Linda, Williams etc heheeheheee)

To this day I cannot move onto other streets without a giant flashing thumbs up telling me to 'Go'. :p

  • @Guitarsthatkill I keep meaning to do a video tribute.

  • 0:38 over and over

  • Double Dragon - Catfight Edition

  • ook this game crap

  • Sprites look shitty.

  • Amiga Double Dragon: One of the more painful wasted opportunities in Amiga history. Horrible. At least DD2 was closer.

  • what are these fat chicks doing in this game?

  • AHHHAHAHAH!!!!

  • wow man I used to play this with my upstairs neighbor and we used to attribute names to each enemy dude it was soo cool.

  • Just watching and waiting for a baseball bat... all the other weapons were crap

  • oh man wie geil ich hab mich mit meiner schwester immer so weggepisst als die dann immer verreckt sind "hüüüwääähhh" hahahahahha

    ich liebe dieses spiel

  • Double Ladyboy . They all look like women!!!

  • ahahahahahahahahahahaha whua

  • Just like the arcade machine....NOT

  • Oh damn this version sucked a fat one.

  • why does it sound like they are sneezing?

  • Ich liebe dieses Spiel! Dieser geile Sound!!! :D:D:D

  • Wow, das ist ja mal ein echt scheiss hässlicher port

  • i love my atari lynx version of this game!!!!!!

  • NES version was Crappy, and is only 1-Player, and you have to earn your Moves

  • @TruDru1978

The NES version was really different, i wouldn't compare it to the Arcade.

  • @TheDarkHighlander I agree.

  • @TheDarkHighlander the sega master system version was the best one, it was pretty faithful, but it had flickering issues.

  • @colliric the best one port was genesis

  • Wow this version sucken fucks! It fucken sucks too!

  • LOL. It's David Coverdale and Jon Bon Jovi against the throw up horde.

  • Well, this game was made when prissy lookin rockstars were in style so that's why they look like girls. Abobo Sounds like he's taking it up the ass.

  • A dreadful arcade conversion.

  • Haha! I used to have this game on my good old Amiga 500.

  • wtfr. i LOVE how it sounds when they die. HAHAHAHA. sounds like they are vomiting.

  • @scir91 BARF!

  • @scir91 they just left the bar so they earl before they fallout

  • Typical of arcade to amiga conversions back in the day! This is just lazy programming, which is a shame considering the backdrops are pretty faithfull to the original! Double Dragon II on the amiga, whilst not perfect, showed it could do a decent arcade conversion!

  • lol it's just a straight transfer of the ST release which is identical in crapness. Very lazy indeed.

  • This is funny. It's Double Dragon with chicks. The only one that looks like a guy is Abobo. What a weird version this is.

  • As bad as this may look people, this is the closest I saw to an arcade port back in the day. If you think this is bad, look at the C64 version, and lets not forget Nintendo that made it one player and called it Double Dragon, theres an oxymoron for you

  • case is rested; the Sega Master System was better.

  • You're nuts. All that game did was flicker. The elements were there and thats's about it.

  • The SMS Version is still better than the NES Version despite it's few Faults.

  • Dear God, this is how ports were made back in the day? I know some can be bad now, but... sweet Jesus, they had a glam rock makeover! And they were already tasty cakes before! Why is Abobo making a constipated noise when he attacks?

  • The Amiga was never really the go-to system for arcade ports, in my opinion.

  • However Double Dragon 2 looks very much like the arcade on the amiga, this was just very very sloppy programming. Look for the video on the right.

  • lol this is like a southpark version of double dragon

  • haha yea I remember Amos. I even bought the compiler version to make my super slow programs a tiny bit faster!

Anyway this version of DD looks garbage. I would have expected more from the Amiga.

  • there is a bug in this game, get into a headlock and istead of hitting them put esc, its kills you and the person in the headlock stays the same and cant be killed, also start 2 player, push esc, at the same time both players back untill credits go insane, infinte

  • Why has Billy got a blond perm? Prolly wearing guyliner too.

  • Amiga is 1# !!!!!!!!

Wiec morda wy SNES i Atari DZiwki !!!

  • This is By far the worst doule dragon I have eva seen in my life. This is the double dragon you get when your parents check came after christmas

  • why did double dragon suck on all formats? pure cash-ins

  • Genesis version of Double Dragon was a pretty faithful conversion of the arcade.

  • yeah i had it too, it was great except dont bother with the music or sfx, they were pants

  • lol

  • lol

  • this is horrible

  • the fuck? No music?

  • i remember playing this in uk comet electrical stores when i was a kid-i used to get kicked out of there everyday.haha good days.cant go back :)

  • double dragon was not ment to be on the amiga the designs of the game and character sucks

  • that character desing is soooo gay!!

  • Yes the death sound was someone (I forget who) in the Binary Design offices in Manchester with an Amiga 'Perfectsound' sampler making throwing up noises. It was sped up a bit.

It caused a lot of hilarity in the office too.

  • ...and yes, this version sucks. Hey, it had to be out by christmas and was a quick port of the Atari ST version. DD II on the Amiga was the ST build with some more significant Amiga stuff (better scrolling, blitting etc). Later I did Final Fight from scratch for the Amiga and did a much better job. Ok, well not on the gameplay... ;-)

  • Final Fight was an awesome arcade game at the time.

  • This video made me laugh so fucking hard.

  • What, no BGM? The death sound is like a comic imitation of someone throwing up (how appropriate, since this version of DD is sickeningly awful). Most of the character sprites look like lame palette swaps- did they get the janitor to draw them? Ridiculous. Backgrounds look OK, but that's about all. The Mega Drive version kills this in every way.

  • LOL!! I remember this It sucked! DD2 was good on the Amiga tho

  • si sull amiga faceva propio cacare

  • lol this version sucks!

  • The faces look like playdough people.

  • the death sound totally sounds like someone hurling...LOL!!!

  • Im Killing Myself with those Death sounds LOL!!!!!!

  • WTF?? Double Dragon Girls!!

  • They all look like chicks.

  • The animations are very similar to the DOS version... with better colors, though amazingly, the enemy sprites are just like Billy... and the sounds are hilarious!

  • double dragon 2 the revenge on amiga more like the arcade.this 1 is crap

  • jajaj they look like gurls!

and there s no BG music..

but i like the death sound ..lol

    sound like someone pucking

  • Yeh i used to play this alot, it still makes me laff the sound they make when they die its like a baby puking up "eeugggeh!!" LOL!!

  • LOL. I can laugh at this now. I remember having the Commmodore 64 version of this and wishing that I had an Amiga because of the graphics. Commodore 64 really sucked, but this looks equally as horrible. Thank god they improved with Part II.

  • I remeber playing the C64 version, the players had their waistline missing. Worst arcade conversion ever, along with SF1.

  • this is horrible
