  • Urgh, as I watch this I remember the furstraition. How I wouldn't go for certain tokens because it wasn't worth the risk or how I certain jumps were so tricky and could totally screw up your chances later on.

    Never did complete level five.

  • I remember there being a Tardis and a cheeky Dr. Who sample which made me smile so much!

  • Remember all these! I used to love Hostages, Pysanki, Inertia, Zool, Blowpipe, Chocks Away, Repton... the list goes on!

  • I LOVED THIS GAME AS A KID! Is there any way I can get it again?

  • I, like a few others I see, love this game. They used to have it at school, I remember winning the game once! Probably one of the few games I've enjoyed enough to finish completely. I remember looking and looking for a PC version of this. Will have to give this another go (on an emulator) after so many years!

  • Anyone know if you can still play this any where???

  • I first played this game 16 years ago. And only JUST NOW have I got the joke 'chip maker'. Awesome game for a criminally underrated platform.

  • I loved this too. Came across it as I've recently downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog for my 5 yr old son on the wii. That got me looking at emulators and I remembered Mad Professor - didn't expect to find anything but this has brought back some good memories! I only remembered putting the stick in the crocodiles mouth until now! Shaun, you are a genius!

  • Has anyone got any links to this game? I need to get back in touch with my childhood, I've been staring at this game for yonks now, really miss playing it, and I never actually got to complete it.

  • Just got it working in my Acorn A5000 emulator. Damn, this is the first game i ever played on my first computer when i was five years old (i am having a nostalgia-gasm right now). Can anyone remember what the change / use item buttons were? this version is just arrow keys and space and im pretty sure thats not how it used to be

  • I absolutely loved this game as a kid. Chemistry lab was my favourite! My brothers and I used to take turns on the levels.

  • I...WANT...THIS...GAME!!!!!!!!

  • haha I can't believe I could still remember the loony bin music. Actually that makes sense, I was about three when this game was new and I sucked at it.

  • Me and my mate Danny used to play this (well, i was rubbish, so i'd watch him be pro!) back when we were like.... 10 or something?? The acorn was the start of our video game passion! I still remember coding starwars themed text animations in visual basic! Nice One!

  • bits of the music sound like pac man...

  • The name of this game just popped into my head, cant believe how much i played, one of my favourate acorn games ever, used to love chuck rock, robocod and neveron too!

  • I remember playing this game a lot on a computer they had at my school when I was a kid. I think I got to the last level but I never beat it.

  • Haha my story is the same... used to play this in primary school!

  • I guess maybe a lot of schools had it or something.

  • Hehheheheheh!!!! EXCELLENT stuff - this one takes me back , bloody ace music and tripped out graphics - around this period 386 PC's running MS Dos 6.1 couldnt come anywhere near an Archy for sound / visual power - I can never remember my A3000 crashing no matter what I threw at it.

  • the masters shaun hollingworth and matt furniss

  • Nice to see this old thing again.

I did the code and my mate Matt did the music.. Such a long time ago now.

How I miss working on the Acorn Risc OS platforms. Best machines to program ever.

Working on PCs is enough to get you to the loony bin...

    Shaun Hollingworth.

  • Thanks for the comments Shaun. Do have a list of all the Acorn games you worked on? I reckon it has be a good few. I'll try and get them all on here :) Loony bin was superb!

  • Shaun, is there a version of this that will work on a pc or mac? i'm desperate to play this again! thanks

  • @shaunhw Wow, you were responsible for this? Then I have to thank you for the countless hours of enjoyment you gave us! It was a truly brilliant game for its time and kept me and my brother hooked for ages way back when :) I'd love to play it again just for the nostalgia!

  • @shaunhw You should re-release this for the iPhone - have you thought about that?

  • @shaunhw

  • @shaunhw I hate to burst your bubble on the good memories, but Matt wrote this in the code in the instrumental text.
