They bash the hell out of their kids if they dont perform 100%in everything!! fucken retards!

  • Yeah This is a stupid Hollywood film they dont know any better!

  • ....it's the dad from "Some Kind of Wonderful"..hmmmm..cool..he kinda reminds me of my uncle

  • I Did Gymanastics For 8 Years.. It Was Fun At First Untill Everyone Depends On You And You HAVE To Win No Matter What It Was No Fun Anymore!

  • @GYMQUEEN725 I no!! That would cause major deductions!!

  • Swoosie Kurtz?!!!! IMDB: Her name "Swoosie" is derived from "Swoose" - half swan, half goose - which was the name of the B-17D bomber that her father piloted in World War II. This same aircraft (USAAC 40-3097) once carried future-president Lyndon Johnson back to Australia from Port Moresby, New Guinea, after he rode as a Navy observer on a B-26 raid on Lae. It is now owned by the National Air and Space Museum in Washington.

  • Perfect Body is better (:

  • @GenieandHammie I always thought it was a mat otherwise she probably would've broken something when she landed her dismount

  • she couldnt watch tv during the week ?!

  • If i was doing beam over concrete at my house and my coach found out I would be killed.

  • @GenieandHammie lol i got my roundoff backhandspring in my front yard and I told my coach and she was like OMG BE CAREFUL I SWEAR IF YOU HURT YOURSELF...funny though I managed to get hurt mor ein the gym than at home loL! :)

  • @GenieandHammie its not concret its multiple mats. you can tell by the way they stand on it, it's squishy...they'd have to be retards to put concrete lol

  • Words in your floor music? Unrealistic!

  • that was one of the shortest bar routines I've ever seen...

  • CHEESY MOVIE !! Do more research or make the actors more believable atleast! Jeez !

  • Jeez, they could have done a bit more research on gymnastics. Or had advisor or something.

  • what is the name of the song at 3:29?

  • This makes me miss gymnastics. : (

  • this is just like Perfect Body

  • We used to get EMS calls for people who injured themselves while competing in school-related sports. They were already hurt and were practicing on their injuries.

Once, I even told the coach he wasn't doing them any favors by making them risk getting more serious injuries. But I'm not a doctor, so he wasn't about to listen to me, whom he thought shouldn't be a paramedic anyway.

He didn't listen when the doctor gave him the same news I did, so I don't feel at all bad about his attitude toward me.

  • @vickiormindyb When I was a gymnast, thats just how it was. : /

Like now, I see how....dumb that was, but then it was all about competing and being the best. Of course now I have so many back issues and other issues from it. But, I think if I had the choice to do it over again I would. Some people are just able to get over the injuries because they love gymnastics so muchhhhh! But, we don't think about our future either...

  • At this point this movie is very similar to "Perfect body". A curious fact is both movies were released the same year and the plot is very similar: young Elite gymnasts trying to get to the Olympics and developing an ED in the process.

  • if u start doing any sport healthy, ur body gets strength.... then when u devlope an eating disorder, u eat less and less the body gets use to it and with the strength of ur mind u can keep going for quite a while... until he crashes down .

i practised kungfu bevor and went to china to a kungfu school . i practised at least 7 hours a day ... after a cuple of weeks i only ate a small cup of rize a day i was amazed i could keep going for so long without feeling week

  • Its very nice! You always upload good stuff!

  • (continuing) It's easy to create this in young girls if you're in a power position. Thankfully, in my 30's and ED free, but not healthy due to the damage it caused. It happens to A LOT of gymnasts...not all, but a lot. For example, we used to have to sit on the beam in a line, and our coach would walk past each of us, pinching us to see if we had too much fat on us, and if we did, he would humiliate us, then find the skinniest girl, and use her as an example to follow. They break you down.

  • I was an Elite gymnast (in training for 10 straight years), and had an ED, and you would be surprised at how much energy you can have without food. My ED developed halfway into it. Sure I was sick, but I still performed well. Everyone is different and the mind can be a very powerful thing. In serious gymnastics, they train you like boot camp or worse. It's actually quite brutal. It's also sick how sadistic the coaches are. They created this in us when we were young and impressionable.

  • the reason why atheletes can perform well while having an eating dissorder|? yes i performed well athletically wen i had an eating dissorder..for about 2 months..it takes time for ur body to become damaged..the sad fact is u can take cafene pills..or other drugs (coke) and perform at an athletic level..but its not long lasting or worth the side effects in the long run..

  • Perfect body is way better

  • This is the same movie Amy Jo Johnson AKA (The Pink Power Ranger)

Perfect Body both movies came out the same year 1997.

  • Beethoven? Um, she's a gymnast, not a genius.

  • I absolutely love this movie.

  • the problem with eating disorders is that you actually will loose the muscles weight, and become weak, no matter how much you'll train. a good athlete should know how to eat and train propertly

  • i wish i could do gymnastics they look so cool!

  • cant watch television during the week? o^o

  • I was watching the begenning and thinking wow if this was elie gymnastics I'd be amazing. Too bad I'm only a 7 ):

  • That coach in the purple is the DEVIL, I could tell on sight. Sorry, but I see it already.

  • omg they couldnt watch television during the week... well we can yaer 2010 ppl!!

  • They dont have the engery. My friend had a ED and she was in the hospital for 3 months. My gymnastics class is not as intense as hers WAS. So the reason it looks like they have energy is because they either have energy food, or get pushed so hard they have to look energetic.

  • idk which one was made first. but this movie and 'perfect body' are the exact same movie pretty much...

  • i wish my parents where nice enough to move for a talent

when i was little i was really good at swimming & places wanted me to be on their swim team & i wanted to do it, but my mom wouldnt let me because she though i was too lazy, even though she thought i was lazy because she never let me do anything i wanted like diving or rhythmic gymnastics because that would mean she would have to drive me places & she doesnt like doing that :(

  • @ItsEmmalicious i know exactly what you mean D: i love my parents and everything but they never gave me a chance to really get into something i liked because it would be "too much responsibility". im 15 now and have little to no talent what so ever Dx

  • @DarkPixiePlus yeah..... to bad my mom is lazy & my dad is too busy to take me places

  • This seems almost identical to the film "Perfect Body" with Amy Jo Johnson?!

  • I do gymanstics!!! <3

But I sue to stave myself .... I did have enough energy all the time, but I was young I guess ....

  • what year was this made in????????

  • @fgymnastm12 in 1997

  • @fgymnastm12 1997

  • whats the name of the song at 04:21 ?

  • @MKandASH4 Somewhere Over The Rainbow

  • @MKandASH4 somewhere over the rainbow

  • @MKandASH4 Somewhere over the rainbow

  • I think it's ironic that this movie is talking about the evils of gymnastics and the stunt double, Vanessa Atler, ended up being a victim of USA Gymnastics and bad coaches and a demanding press and the pressure to be perfect.

  • Can someone tell me the name of the song at 1:41?

  • Gee I wish I had a balance beam in my backyard. :)

  • These girls are hot the blond was on home improvement and other movies got i want her !.

  • I love this movie

  • god movie so far..thanks....

  • Zinikas: Where did you find this movie? because i was hoping i could DL it.

  • ummm i think the girl who played katie bleached her hair a little... next time check your eyebrow color too please dear. she's very pretty, but it is sooo distracting.

  • Katie is so pretty and talented!

  • It's the therapist from "Cruel Intentions!"

  • Comment removed

  • how old is she then? ''she's too young to make that kind of decision''

  • This is just about the same as the movie perfect body..Just names have been changed.

  • If I were that mum I would MURDER the father. She told him not to discuss it! If he wanted to re-talk he should have spoken about it with her parent to parent first! Grrrr!

  • this movie and perfect body are great movies

  • you're not supposed to have lyrics in your floor music

  • Amen. Make it or break it has a problem with that concept too.

  • its in a display thing i think..

  • @kemiallisetystavat I think it was just a showcase performance.

  • @kemiallisetystavat You are also supposed to be able to see what you are doing. I don;t think a spotlight is sufficient. lol.

  • @kemiallisetystavat i guess it depends. we used to dance to green acres haha

  • @kemiallisetystavat The gymnast using it was not actually competing at the time she was using it.

  • @kemiallisetystavat it's an exhibition for her, you can have music in exhibitions-there is no code of points

  • @kemiallisetystavat that's interesting i didn't know that!

  • Comment removed

  • This is a pretty movie about the elite gymnastics....the dangerous gymnastics could be

  • Why is it that in all these gymnastics and figure skating movies they always have spotlights? That's def. not accurate. We don't use those.

  • Well, some of it might be for drama and atmosphere and capturing the right effect, and I bet a lot of it is just for the sake of it looking right and good on film. I did a little bit of stage lighting in college, and it's mind-boggling sometimes what one light can do.

  • I really like this movie. I wish i had in better quality

  • whats the song at 4.30?

  • somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

  • somewhere over the rainbow. by...uhm a hawaiian singer. i forget his name lol

  • somewhere over the rainbow/What a wonderful world.. it is by this big hawian guy. he has some crazy long name

  • @ Peachypea23 - lol, yeah, his name is Israel Kamakawiwoʻole. :-D

  • Some one told me the name of the book and this movie came from Christy Henrich (sp) She told her mom if she died she wanted to be buried in a pink casket.

  • i was in the exact same shoes as katie and the same age as well and i was forced to quit because of the let me tell you all who read this i know first hand how the world of gymnastics is and this movies protreas it to a T its very much like that but the competitions are much more gulling then it shows i was in competitive dance and gymnastics since i was 3 years old and am no longer competing but as a result of all the pressure i have suffered from Anorexia for 11 years now please be careful

  • i never understood where athletes with eating disorders could have the energy to perform so well.

  • @Kaceyjane123 Well, a lot has to do with adrenaline and the fact that they feel really accomplished with their weight loss, so they work hard and it's not without difficulty. it has a lot to do with dedication.

  • @Kaceyjane123 ketosis

  • @Kaceyjane123 it's hard. I played elite handball while having anorexia. I was crying after every traininglesson, because I was so tired. I was so close to pass out so many times, but I had to be the best, or else I should just stop playing.

It's about perfection and being the best.

  • @Wandall13 Why would you want to go through all that? It is not good and you can hurt yourself and mess up your body badily. You will look very bad on the outside as well as the inside.Take it from me I went down that same road you are going down. Please try to take a better way before it is too late.Don't let the people in this world tell you how you should look and to determine your mindset. You can lose the weight and still be healthy. Look online for ways to better yourself. I will pray.

  • @blackrose7586 I've been anorexic and bulimic since I was 12... It's a bit too late telling me that, but thank you anyway (:

  • @Kaceyjane123 same i also never understood how they still had the muscles to perform....

  • @Kaceyjane123 I have no idea and I used to do it myself...

  • @Kaceyjane123 no kidding, when I don't eat enough I don't have the energy to exercise half the time.

  • @Kaceyjane123 It's a strength that comes from within

  • @eppieellen agreed.

  • @Kaceyjane123 its called speed of some sort.

  • @Kaceyjane123 because they are much lighter

  • @Kaceyjane123 That's the point. Eventually, they lose it. There are lots of girls who will faint and fall off apparatuses mid-routine. That's usually how they get hurt

  • @Kaceyjane123 I have always wondered about that also especially when it takes so much strength!

  • i think i tryed to read when i was a bit younger but someone or it mentions that someone could hador has a really bad accident and i think it kinder scared me so i didnt want to read it lol

  • wow that looks impressive

  • what happens in this exsactly??? can anyone give me a quick overview of the plot or sumthing??

  • this is like the exact same story line as perfect body =/

  • That's funny, the guy playing Greg Bradgin plays a Romanian gymnastics coach on a Law and Order episode

what an odd thing to be typecast

  • this movie is like The Perfect Body

  • I know! Even some of the script...I love both, though, so it's cool with me!

  • the girl coach is awesome!

  • her bedroom is awesome. i love the terrace.

  • It is Vanessa Adler doing the gymnastic stunts for Katie

  • I wonder if it was weird to be a stunt double in a movie that criticizes elite gymnastics.

  • Perhaps but this movie is not too brutally harsh. The book was. And vanessa Adler left the sport with a rather negative experience. But the rest of the cast are gymnasts too. Including the deaf girl. She is actually blind in one eye too. But an incredible gymnast. She trained with Jamie Dazinger (sp?)

  • @rachezee foryears ive watched this film and always i suspected it was her!

  • what is the song at 4:38

  • sounds like Jason Castro's Banjo version of Somewhere over the rainbow....

  • its actually "somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole' its the hawaiian version of that song :D

  • This movie is really similar to A Perfect Body with Amy Jo Johnson.

  • I believe they were both released in 1997.. funny how similar they are tho, but both great movies, great actresses.

  • this would be a lot more realistic to me if they hadn't had that floor music in the beginning... i'm sure the movie will be great, but the first impression's important and using music with lyrics is forbidden - something ANYONE who knows ANYTHING about gymnastics would know, something people producing a movie about gymnasts should know.

  • I could'nt agree more! I am 13 and a former gymnast, and know that. lol,

I was thinkin the same exact thing. And, the spotlight and such, and what was it? 1 tumbling pass? haha, it just did'nt quiet fit. But, anyways, great movie,

  • i agree it had lyrics and i was like whooa haha

  • what i thought was that it was just an opening performance to start off the competition, because the girl competing was a higher level than all the other girls, so she wasn't actually competing. although i don't think that really happens in real life either.

  • i know! they do the same thing in those ditzy figure skating movies!

ah, what do you expect from a movie?

  • Who sings the version on " Somewhere Over the Rainbow " in this film ?

  • somewhere over the rainbow israel kamakawiwo'ole

  • I have always been in awe of people who can do that.

  • There was a movie , lifetime i think, that was about weight gain in gymnastics... i want to watch that movie again

  • Do you mean Perfect Body?

  • I just watched that, it was good.

  • you can get it through barnes & noble - i got my dvd through their website for $10 a year or two ago.

  • this looks like a higher budget film than the others eeeh

  • what is the song called on the first floor routine the one that daina does?

  • LOL!! the moms funny. hehehehe

  • Ahhhh! Lifetime movies! There is nothing quite like them. xD

  • haha true that.!

  • It's a real great film, I really like watching it.

Does somebody know if the music they play in the scene before Katie and her family enters Greg's hall? It sounds that good and I'd really like to know if the music is from a song or if there's s soundrack or a way just to download the music~

  • she looks like allison mack.

  • When I first saw the woman who plays her mom I thought it was Goldie Hawn. Lol.

  • she's d granmum of serena in gossip girl now i think.

  • It won't load.

    What happened?

  • I love watching uneven bars! I wish I could do it. . . It looks like flying!

  • U R right.. it does look like flying. At least until you miss the bar and then it looks like GRAVITY's revenge.

I like this movie.. they need to release it on DVD.

  • your comment made me laugh for about 3 minutes

  • It is like flying. I used to be a gymnast and the uneven bars were and still are my favorite event. The feel of letting go of the bar and flying through the air was absolutely amazing.

  • The uneven bars are my favorite event, in gymnastics, to watch. How they swing around like that and do handstands on the bars is something else. Wished I could do that.

  • Thanks for the upload!

  • UGH!!

    I'm 30 and I could TOTALLY execute that balance beam and I'm 180 lbs @ 5'8..mostly muscle..

  • whats the movie about??i know a gymnast but is it about a movie of a gymnast with an eating disorder or is there more to it then that?

  • It's about the dangers of the intense programmes.... she doesn't have an eating disorder but she trains with this coach taht encourages extreme dieting, trainign while injured and screams abuse at them....

  • That floor music was horrible. If I saw a gymnast at a competition with shit music like that I'd probably punch her coach in the face for allowing their gymnast to be publicly embarrassed like that.

  • oh god i would help you.

    thats really terrible.

  • The story is very similar to another movie I saw... The girl moves away to have a new coach... Yes, I know, it's Perfect Body. What do you think?

  • ooooh luks gd :]..wahs dis muuvie about nwayz...

  • OK, I can't believe i'm looking at this!!! i mean... I saw this movie like... 5 million years ago, I can barely remember what happened on it, but thanks so much for posting this, really!!!

  • Haha, that's exactly what I was thinking cus I barely remember the movie.. I didn't even know the title so I just clicked by accident and like 10 sec of the movie I was like "OMG, I know this!"..

    Thank you for uploading =D!

  • OMG, OMG, OMG THANKYOU SO MUCH. I loved this movie.

I'm telling you it's NOWHERE to be found. Right now check ebay, amazon, nowhere THANKYOU.

This was the first movie/tv show to introduce me to IZ's beautiful and BEST version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

Oh I hope this movie isn't taken down because I have no way of saving it and it's nowhere on DVD

  • i love the IZ version too, best!

and this movie is one of my favs i hadn't seen it for years and then it was on here!

  • yah!! this version of somewhere over the rainbow is the best ever!!! i love the beginning..with that music..simply awesome!

  • The mum is from Cruel Intentions.

  • Is this about a girl with an eating disorder? xx

  • yeah basically

  • that's the movie "Perfect Body"
