Exhibit A Disproved: Vergil was a man on a mission. Kill Arkham, don't let anything distract him.

Exhibit B Disproved: The firing of Bingo Morihashi. The Capcom employee who made said ridiculous claim, AFTER he was fired.

Exhibit C Disproved: That "Nelo Angelo Avatar" you speak of. How closely have you looked at it? First off, it may have the horns, but the Angelo Knights have those horns, too. Also, the "Avatar's" face clearly does not match Nelo.

Addendum to Exhibit C: THe "Avatar" also has only one eye. One eye. That's a little odd, and I've never seen Vergil with an eye-patch. The spirit also performs none of Vergil's signature moves, and the Summoned Swords are horribly deformed, not the same ones Vergil creates by blinking. Let's add this too the mix, the spirit also has two fins jutting out of the right shoulder. Vergil never had that, even as Nelo.

Addendum Continued: Now, on to that Yamato. The spirit has the sheath fused to it's arm. In Vergil's DT form, the sword simply floated at his side, it was never attached. Here's the icing on the cake, the spirit has it's own Devil Bringer. Does Vergil have a Devil Bringer? He most certainly does not. Yes you may argue that the spirit is blue, and so is Vergil, as is the depth of your observation skills. Is that the best you've got? Check and Mate.

@SonOfSparda13 While I am not trying to criticize, I've played as Vergil more than enough to know, Vergil's DT form sheath IS attached to his arm. Proof is in the offical artwork, shdfd you can clearly see it attached to his arm. Besides, we don't know how Vergil would have evolved. His "Nelo" DT is a version tainted by Mundus. With the taint removed, or possibly due to corruption, it wouldn't be hard to imagine this being Vergil.

Powerful devils become devil arms, upon "death" would it be hard to see the devil arms of Griffon, Phantom, Nightmare(although being a living weapon, would he become one?) and Nelo going to Mundus? Devil bringer could be a variation of his displacement technique. One eye or two is irrelevant, it may only be cosmetic, ie: armor.

And about the sheath?

You're also forgetting that Dante did not claim a Devil Arm from the souls of Echidna, Dagon or Berial. THe system of claiming Devil Arms wasn't implemented until DMC3, so it was too late for that, and technically, Nelo Angelo turned into the AMULET when he died, not Yamato. Remember that.

The thing I'm saying is, with a multi year gap between parts three and one, and then one and four, and with no solid explanation given, the only thing to logically assume is that somehow, at least SOME part of Vergil is Nero's avatar. There's never been a demon with Vergil's arm sheath.

They would have to go so far as to say that his summoned swords were part of the trigger, which would cause too many problems as to how he was able to use them when Yamato wasn't equipped.

You do realize that Hideki Kamiya is no longer affiliated with Capcom, and has denied responsibility ever since DMC3, so asking the creator about Nero does you no good. Kamiya's too busy pimping out Anarchy Reigns to care about what's happened to DMC. Ever heard of Platinum Games, look into them sometime. Bingo Morihashi may have helped with the scenarios of DMC3 and 4, but is mostly responsible for the story of the trainwreck that is Devil May Cry 2. Not only that, but he made that claim after Capcom fired him. Is your argument really legitimate now? But, Vergil shows personality defects that would prevent him from having a son. Vergil has no sex drive. He feels no attraction to anything, making him a trademark asexual. HIs style of dress and even his motion of walking also attributes to this belief. Vergil also has an extreme hatred of women. He never makes any claim of showing love for his human mother, and was shown slaughtering a female librarian after warning Arkham to leave him alone.

Because his mother was killed by demons and could not protect him when he needed it, Vergil shows no emotion for any act of violence towards a woman. Dante at least flinches when he has to hit Lady, Vergil would strike her with no remorse. It's like this, an18 to 20 year old Vergil could not possibly have a 4 to 5 year old son at the time, or want anything to do with a woman, the gender that abandoned him when he needed to be protected.
