sorry ive wandered into that weird part of stumble upon again ,,,,but for what its worth ,,see the being that created all life and its machinations ,,do you think it cares about this ? now i understand parties and holydays(holidays) ,and teaching people things ,but i dont get why somthing divine would be like wow cheers for doing that
For those of your reading this I am not Japanese I am American. I am just learning Japanese and am a Christian interesting in Jewish understanding.
When they say the name Haman they curse him and bang on the table. He was the adviser to king Ashasverosh in Persia and he wanted to destroy the kingdom and the jews. Esther married the King but she didn't tell him he was jewish until the very end and he Hanged Haman and his 10 evil sons.
The megila is a story to be read and lived as if you were there it is not worship.
@067zeke Yes, this is the reading of an important text, although as it isn't praying I'm not sure if you'd call it 'worship'. However, this reading is for Purim, a Jewish holiday. The day generally has a bit more of a festive atmosphere than normal; it's a celebration of not being killed (again). As for the banging, it's to drown out Haman's name (the villain of the story).
this reading lacks the correct ta'am as well as correct pronunciation.....i am not going to argue or curse chas veshalom but i am a 15 year old orthodox ashkenazu baal koreh and can read in many different ta'amim including many sefardic types from persian to iraqi and i agree 100 % with stphen 19761973 and the fact is ashkenazim are so much more laxed in their form of reading we are begining to lose the beauty of the language which is why i learned sefardic ta'am and am starting on yemenite.....
although your point may be valid (i do not know the intricacies of reading the text), this is not the reason for this clip. People who access this clip here, on youtube, are not looking for the exact and correct and perfect pronunciation. We just want to hear it, and it is good enough for us at this point of our spiritual journey.
Are you so unfamiliar with the difference between Modern Hebrew and Ashkenaz pronunciation? Or, do you just think you can fool others into thinking you are educated?
