i got an old video from 85 of the roses playing the international club in manchester and a few bootleg 12inch demoes but ive never heard this song so nice one
Even if they reformed and just made quality studio recordings of these lost demo's (Sun Still shines, By My Side etc) that would be enough for me! Just out of this world the talent they had.
@ARoseStoned I completely agree. I have decided I would spend $500 on the ticket alone if I had to even if all they did was play the first album and b-sides live.
Thanks c0bbl3rs. I think you got most of it spot on, I'm just not sure about 'Sure as his brand new thing Wakes from his wizened dream' it just doesn't sound quite right, though I'm not sure what I'd put in its place...
Beautiful song, beautiful melodies from Squire...Mani once said they never recorded it because they had better songs. How perfectionist do you have to be to think this isn't good enough? It's perfect in its heartbreaking imperfection. Ah, well....our loss.
The signs and the seasons, rhymes and the reasons I can be sure she'll say: "Your time will come, your river it will run" "Summer skies will light your eyes" She says what she says because she knows Because she is on your side She walks right through my head Leaves me reeling behind I've never been in such a stirring scene Think I'm finding my mind Sure as his brand new thing Wakes from his wizened dream To come a day, shake his shroud away Wonder where have I been

I know Brown's singing is feckin' dross but imagine this song produced to the same quality as the others on the albums and singles. It'd be up there with their best.
A bonafide lost classic of a tune lost forever.
And i'd like to take this opportunity to say Snow Patrol suck ass!
I've not heard this for years, thanks for putting it up. I only know it exists because I've got a scrumpled set list that was chucked to the crowd at one of the International gigs that has this song title. I've always known the chorus had something to do with 'Your time will come your rivers will have run' but that was it.
Were you at the gig when Ian punched someone for shouting Tragic Roundabout too many times?
You're a lucky bastard mate,I was about 7 when this would've happened. What gig did Ian punch someone for that? They had some pretty tough shows in the early days...mind you Browny's still punching audience members today...c'est la vie...

She walks right through my head
Leaves me reeling behind
I've never been in such a stirring scene
Think I'm finding my mind
Sure as his brand new thing
Wakes from his wizened dream
To come a day, shake his shroud away
Wonder where have I been
While I wait
She will play

Beginning sounds vaguely like the chorus of The Smiths, "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore." Love it!

Long live Ian and everything the Roses brought to the world...

I second that! Absolutely brillant. Now I've got to find it on CD. I don't think Ian and John took this any further after 87. A lost gem! Brillant.
