Look at the specs, its a 2002 engine, meaning a PI headed engine, the gears are 4:30's and its over 400lbs weight, the 3000 is race weight with driver.

@essentil08 The engine is the same as in 96 as far as fuel and wiring goes, it runs the 96 computer and harness with the 2 coil packs, and also the stock return fuel system. There is nothing special for the swap.

@jfowler23 I think you are hearing another car in the background. The volume of that engine changes and lingers after he left the line. My Mustang sounds similar to this one and it also has a free flowing exhaust with uncatted offroad xpipe.
@Cuttincircles this video is giving me the inspiration to go with 4.30 gears in my own car. I've been doing the math and considering I was going to go with 4.10 gears anyway because of the AODE tranny in my car, it's only a drop of 3.33 mph at 2500 rpm
what is your full suspension or just the rear suspension? or do the rear tires jack it up that much. cause i love the stance. and how much would it cost to do it.

No, it doesn't take wheels up to run low 12's, just depends on setup of car, my engine is bone stock remember, but the car is geared 4.30's, and light all over. The car now is actually running 12.18's @ 110 with a best of 12.15 @ 110, just played with the tune and with the suspension setup.

The current best for this car is 12.22 @ 109 with some playing around another tenth is possible as it sits, but due to working away from home 20 days a month, has limited my racing ability for now.
4.30's, manual steering/brakes, pulled out any unecessary weight, sct tuner, longtubes, chromoly k-member and arms, mustangs have a great pivot point for weight transfer, so lighten them up they will go, suspension in rear is lakewood lowers, front is 9/10 coilovers
All stock Pal, long block never has been touched, has longtubes, a K&N and SCT tune, hooks a 1.64, and that 12.47 run has been beaten to 2 12.39 runs @ 108
i did the same with a 01 motor. I just dropped it in with headers. What do you think i should add next to increase horsepower? intake plenum or throttle body?
I just bought a chrome moly k-member which will be going on this week, so that will decrease soem more weight, also an aluminum seat. Weight is such a big factor on these cars. I will be going heads, intake and t/b all at once, these intakes stock flow pretty good, so I think you'd notice a bit with just a throttle body because I think there's more air to flow throw through if it could get it.
And this car is running low 12's now, with some tuning

yep would be the same, but I had the whole motor so didn't bother chnging out the heads/intake, just dropped the whole thing in.
