when you join the military you accept the fact that you will go to places you dont want to go to, do things you may not want to do. crying and bleating about it during your service just shows a lack of duty to your uinit, and respect to your collegues. if you dont want to do it then dont join the military in the first place, you wernt conscripted you were a volunteer.
if you dont like it, carry on do your time and leave at the end of your service term simple.

@veritbo as stated in my earlier post, he went to afghanistan, spent 6 months in an airfield that is so far back they sent their laundry forwards, and then cam back to the uk. He then spent a year happily serving in the british army befoore moving to a new unit and being told he was going back out. this didnt fit in with his social life so he went AWOL. He never raised any conscientious objections to anyone until he came back from being AWOL and realised exactly how much trouble he was in.

it's a pity that LCpl Glenton didn't find his moral principles after his tour in Kandahar air base. Instead he waited a year and another posting to a unit that would go back before he declared his conscientious objection. He then went AWOL instead of giving his notice to terminate employment with the army. After 2 years AWOL in Australia he then returned as a conscientious objector and 'hero'. Retrospective justification much?
I wrote my letters of support for and to Joe Glenton but now that he is out we are hearing very little in the press. I only heard through the stopthewarcoalition website that he had been freed. The Government are hiding the full story of the happenings in Afghanistan. We hear of the British deaths but not the Afghan or US . The total must be horrifying. @veritbo as stated in my earlier post, he went to afghanistan, spent 6 months in an airfield that is so far back they sent their laundry forwards, and then cam back to the uk. He then spent a year happily serving in the british army befoore moving to a new unit and being told he was going back out. this didnt fit in with his social life so he went AWOL. He never raised any conscientious objections to anyone until he came back from being AWOL and realised exactly how much trouble he was in.

it's a pity that LCpl Glenton didn't find his moral principles after his tour in Kandahar air base. Instead he waited a year and another posting to a unit that would go back before he declared his conscientious objection. He then went AWOL instead of giving his notice to terminate employment with the army. After 2 years AWOL in Australia he then returned as a conscientious objector and 'hero'. @thewirrow no i agree with freedom of speach,and im against war but some times you have to do things you dont want to do and if you join the army there is a good chance you go to war no good moaning about it,man up and get on with it and leave the army when you can,problem solved.
