Thanks for the suggestions, fuascait, but I'm more than familiar with the claims made to affirm genocide; I only see hearsay and forgeries. For example, your hero, Fisk, has pointed to Andonian's Talat Pasha forgeries for evidence. That is inexcusable. Fisk is a propagandist, at least for Armenians - which makes anything else he produces difficult to trust.. See how Fisk goes wrong here:

Of course when I used the word "hero" I did not think you have built a shrine to this man. However, when you make a statement such as "if all journalists had the integrity of robert fisk ," that shows you see him in the highest possible light. The reason why I disagree is hardly mysterious, and it has nothing to do with my political views. Someone could have different political views but I can still respect him for maintaining honesty. Fisk has great trouble distinguishing fact from fiction.

Correct. I do have an agenda; when I encounter vicious propaganda that spreads hatred & racism, and that spits in the face of factual evidence (as with the "Armenian genocide"), then my agenda is to uplift the truth. That should be the agenda of every honorable person. If you consider yourself one then please overcome the prejudices that lead you have such "agenda" suspicions, and be ruthless with the facts. And indeed journalists should have integrity, yet you feel Fisk is an exemplary example.

Actually, there are things I've read from Fisk that have impressed me. But once one gets wind of how grossly a journalist allows himself to distort the facts, as he has clearly done with the Armenian genocide matter, then one realizes we are dealing with a corrupt character. Anything else he writes about, even subjects one is in agreement with, becomes suspect.

And thank you for wishing me luck on uplifting truth. Every one of us needs to be concerned with such a goal in this dishonest world.

Have you read this thread? As examples of Fisk's propaganda: Andonian's Talat Pasha forgeries, and you can access a link to a video. He gets his facts from Armenian-friendly sources. I mostly get my facts from the same. Less conflict-of-interest often points to more reliable truth. When he falsely equates Turks with Nazi behavior, that promotes racism. I don't know what gave you the idea I don't acknowledge "carnage & terror" even when committed by Turks; the point is factual genocidal proof.

Bad analogy; The US media Saddam-Hitler comparison was made as an attempt to demonize Saddam, a common war tactic; also, the criticism was leveled against an individual, not a people. When Turks are compared to Nazis, however, an entire nation is demonized. Age-old anti-Turkish propaganda already has painted Turks as lowlifes, & the Nazi parallel further increases the existing hatred & racism. You can't honestly compare one regime with another if one is based on fact & the other hateful hearsay.

My mistake, you are correct. Fisk's book is closer to 1100pgs, the current book I'm reading, "Fateful Triangle" by Noam Chumsky is the one that is 670pgs. BOTH are excellent authors and scholars though.
