  • But why is the monkey afraid when he can just run away? It's not like they can touch him through the glass.

  • @ASHERUISE Monkey world takes in a lot of new animals fairly regularly, it might be a new one who's not used to his surroundings yet.

  • You fucking morons that is fear and anger!

  • He's a people pleaser!

  • boozshe

  • Wake up in the middle of the night to see that face staring at you.

  • He is not smiling. He is afraid. That is the facial expression for fear. Just think, isn't that what you do when you are going down a huge hill on a roller coaster. Your lips pull back, but it isn't a smile, it is a facial expression saying that you are afraid.

  • hurry up and feed me stupid humans im tired of this act

  • whatever it's intentions are, i think it looks hilarious.

  • chips use signals like that to communicate with their peers. the smile often is used to signal for danger

  • It seems to be using a 'fear grimace' in order to appear less threatening. It's basically the prototype of the smile we use, meaning something along the lines of, "I'm being nice, I hope you will be too."

  • WTF?

  • why do you guys think its scary?! that thing is freakin CUTE

  • give the capachin a break guys! he was one of the 88 rescued from chile in a tiny cage. he is traumatized and has NEVER been otside exept in monkey world! its nt his fault!

  • It's baring its teeth at you because it wants to mollest you in the face and eat your children. Go fuck yourself g9way i would have shot this monkey and laughed at it.

  • i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that monkeys present their teeth when they are trying to threaten or scare something... that thing would bite their tits off

  • This monkey is a real crowd pleaser hahaha

  • if it wasn't for the glass that thing would be mauling the nearest set of testicles, no 2 ways about it.

  • Monkey World is a wonderful place. They rescue monkeys from all over the world that have either been abused by humans or are in danger in some other way. They have a huge fabulous facilitiy. Its run by brilliant people who really know what they are doing. If you are in England and ever in Dorset (not far from Wareham) you should go visit.

  • OMG!! DONT BE FOOL THE MONKEY IS FAKING THE SMILE!! IF IT HAVE A CHANCE IT WILL RAPE YOU!!

  • its not angry or happy its just copying all the people lookin at him smilin and trying to do it back

  • some animals do however try to imitate humans... my old lab used to smile and show all her teeth when she got really excited.. our neighbours would be scared in till we informed them that she was just smiling. I think its the same case with this monkey, because it seemed to be blinking a lot and if it was truly showing signs of aggression it would not blink very much or turns its back

  • @D2unitJ2strang

We used to babysit a labrador that would do that too, he would bare his teeth whenever we fussed him.

  • yep, looks like he would tear you apart if he had the chance

  • Oh, I can't take it anymore, a monkey sneering at me, that means I must die!

  • This monkey looks just like my creepy neighbor who looks in my windows!

  • Its the Joker of the monkey world. Heath Ledger version, not Jack Nicholson

  • So that's what happened to that creepy little bastard from the Wizard of Oz.

  • thats a creepy little fuck

  • yeah, smiling not such a good thing, he's likely claiming the ground your standing on, even though he can't get there.

  • it looks more like its growling.. lmao

  • it looks like its just trying to imitate the people who come to see it

  • i got the feeling that monkey is trapped in a disney-like world, where he is forced to smile at all times because he knows that if he doest, he gets tortured.....u can see him smiling, but also a look of suppressed fear.

  • Smiling is more of a sign for anxiety in primates. If you look at humans on rollercoasters, you'll notice them smiling out of fear.

  • Never seen that kind of monkey.

  • I think Jim Carrey was behind the glass!

  • ha! that monkey is so weird

  • ha! that is so funny, sweet monkey, hes got humor

  • that smile is a sign of searing anger

  • Yeah...the last time i heard 'look the ape is smiling', it mauled the women.

  • What kind of monkey is this?

  • Awful intimidating smile... I would go so far as to say naturally this means he is showing his teeth in an effort to intimidate you. But, perhaps he has learned to smile back for fun... doubt it.

  • is not a smile..... -_-

  • they show there teeth only as a threat, these people are fucking retarded

  • THats a threat display

Or possibly a learned behaviour if zoo goers are able to throw food in there somehow.

  • Do you dont know anything? When monkyes are showint its teaths that way it means that its ready to fight you, you have scared it I think...

  • yeah. I could totall see the the lil fella in a horror show!!!

    psycho smile

  • omg lmao

  • he was calculating how to pounce onto someone's jugular

  • why don't people get that primates do this when they are freaked out and scared. People amaze me.

  • What these people don't realize is that this monkey just finished a 2 month whitening trial at the Colgate facility and was attempting to show off the results.

  • Smiling means it's showing it's teeth off, it's angry/threatened. Those people are stupid

  • LOL it's cute and freaky at the same time!

  • He / She is angry...... :(

  • When monkeys or apes smile it is a sign of aggression, not happiness . If you were in the wild with this monkey, it'd be attacking you at this point.

  • @steakhoge Totally. Seeing teeth in the wild is almost always BAD NEWS.

  • @steakhoge actually they can smile to show happiness. but they can also show their teeth to show aggression. you just have to notice the different facial features they make as they're not quite exactly the same as humans

  • @Tazy50 Good point although I believe this monkey is exhibiting nervousness or anxiety.

  • @steakhoge of course it would be, just look at his face, lol. that is an angry little crackhead monkey

  • @Tazy50 Hahaha yeah it looks like it needs a fix

  • @steakhoge perhaps a banana would help

  • @steakhoge This is true but if the monkey is scared and im certin it know that it cant get at the people why does it stay near them? because as far as it looks to me is he has seen people smiling and has copied it to try and get food since it most likely has human handlers

  • @steakhoge not really. showing your teeth in general is a sign of aggression with any kind of mammal, but this monkey is held in captivity and sees people every day. it's just imitating what it sees the people doing, not trying to be threatening.

  • @HeyItsDanae actually, you both are wrong - and right at the same time.....Primates in captivity do mimic human behaviour, and bearing teeth is a sign of fear/aggression in most primates, but along with that you have to look at the body language. With Capuchins, grinning (usually with an open mouth) with an erect tail and puffed out hair is their defence mechanism. But grinning while rubbing their belly or hugging themselves and raising their brow is just them simply saying hello :)

  • @HeyItsDanae True. Smart.

  • @HeyItsDanae yeah cause monkeys are smart little fuckers

  • @HeyItsDanae Nicely put :)

  • @HeyItsDanae and since we all share mirror neurons, he could actually be having fun too.

  • @HeyItsDanae wrong. Capuchins smile for many reasons; fear, aggression, attraction, and just a general friendly hello. It's the rest of the body language you need to look at to find out what she's feeling. Capuchins, along with all other primates, are incredibly intelligent and complex animals. I happen to know this particular monkey, and this is pretty much her favourite hobby. She's not mimicking people, actually, it's the people that generally mimic her....I find it quite amusing.

  • @steakhoge i'm not sure if it's that way with all monkeys or apes but it's so with capuchin monkeys, and this one is a capuchin monkey, and he is angry. when chimpanzees or orangutans smile, i don't think they're angry.

  • @xxpinkstrawberriexxx I'm not sure about orangutans, but a chimpanzees smile is kind of upside down, they show they're bottom teeth, not their top.

  • @steakhoge Dwight Shrute says it is a sign of weakness.

  • @steakhoge i think that's only old world monkeys but don't quote me. i could be wrong. i'm more surprised he or she didn't move if it was showing a fear/aggression response

  • and then it steals your soul.

  • monkeys are waaaay cute, but the smile here just looks like imitating so many human faces that come by... I hope there's not a peanut feeder taking in quarters, and monkey is habituated to this, super un-naturally...

  • HOLY FUCK ITS DON KING

  • hes like the monkey in the basement jaxx video

  • looks like a Filipino.

  • @BaronVonGotha rofl

  • lol thats fuckin funny

  • Its smiling because its plottin' on you, when it gets out, its taking your money and your video camera.

  • سبحان الله

  • i herd a couple years ago not to smile to some types of monkeys cause its like a" im gonna kill you" sign.. im pretty sure that monkey wants to kill people..

  • Where's your head at?

  • monkey smoked some grass

  • just happy to be on youtube :)

  • LOL he look just like the vocalist from The Prodigy

  • friendly or not, it was actually pretty cute x)

  • That is one evil looking monkey. I like his hairdo though.

  • The monkey is not laughing at all! When a monkey is showing it's teeth then it is making clear he wants you to leave or he will attack you (lucky there is a window). Cause people are laughing the monkey is seeing their teeth. So the monkey thinks the people actually want to attack him. That's the thing in monkey world, to show off by showing teeth. google for "bokito" (dutch chimp who attacked a woman in a dutch zoo).

  • Looks like a fucking demon from hell...

  • maymunun ne yaptığından bile haberi yok maymunlar çok iyi taklitçilerdir orada gülen insanları taklit ediyor...
