  • This episode is good so far.

  • Why did lex luther take their powers away?

  • I like green lantern.

  • How come green lantern is not in this episode?

  • How the hell could he catch a lighting bolt without getting electrocuted? Only in a cartoon I guess.

  • I don't know why but Black Manta on a horse amuses me. :)

  • thats the only way to capture Black Vulcan is to trap him in his own lighting bolt.

  • Superman

  • in retrospect, these shows would be better if they would stop describing every little thing they do...lol

  • What's going on with Superman's S at 8:17?

  • @robbchr I seem to recall that happening a lot on this show with Superman's S and Batman's bat logo. The colorists got the color reversed for a frame or two then corrected it so when the episode is played it looks like it's flashing or something. :)

  • why not just shoot the gorillas and why not just have the gorillas to rip the superfriends apart and be done with see this is why the legion of doom always loses they never keep it simple.

  • Batman doesn't have any powers so how did that power restore thing apply?

  • @Tang0Fox1 it applied to flash and chief not really to the batman or robin... but why after getting his powers back did flash walk instead of run?

  • It's too bad they didn't have FIRESTORM on more shows. I know he starred on the one with red krypotnite, and when he meets Wonder Woman, and she tells him he has alot of studing to do

  • Ha ha!! I like how at the very end you see Green Lantern standing there at 8:43!! He was supposed to be away handling something in outer space! I used to love all the mistakes they would make. Batman and Robin in one episode were trapped in a well, then back at the Hall of Justice you could see them both standing there looking up at the trouble alert!!

  • @tonicair Green Lantern finished the work in Galaxy 13 that he was working on. He then teleported to Gorilla City to assist his comrades.

  • @ReturnofLatinPupE except you never see him until the final frames... when someone suddenly (and intentionally) shows up to help s/he usually will have some kind of dialogue or action to explain their presence. It could be that they trimmed that part from the final episode due to time concerns and left the original final shot showing him there, but HB is notorious for putting characters where they shouldn't be.

  • @tonicair what that episode called

  • @KingPooky8181 The one where they are in the well was with the wonder twins I believe. The dvd set of "Challenge of the Superfriends" is full of hillarious mistakes. I don't now the name of the "well" episode. But there are continuity mistakes in several episodes.

  • Couldn't superman fly away from the kryptonite airplane at superspeed and avoid it? Come on!!

  • Where was Aquaman? Don't tell me he was in outer space helping out? Maybe he was on vacation in Atlantis.

  • How did that chandelier keep Bizarro and Braniac incapacitated? I would think Bizarro could break out of it easily.

  • @slacker393 I could break out of that easily too. Bizarro's only weakness is that it was nearly the end of the episode and all the villains lose their powers.

  • @slacker393

Yeah I don't get what his powers are on this show. Isn't he supposed to be as powerful as Superman?

  • When Black Falcon is captured and Superman is trying to get away from a Kryptonite plane, Wonder Woman should snare the plane with her magic lasso and crush it with her Amazon strength so that Superman, with his powers restored, can rescue Black Falcon. Luthor would then use his power neutralizer to render Superman, Wonder Woman and Black Falcon helpless. Wonder Woman:"Merciful Minerva! My Amazon powers are gone!" Superman:"So are my super powers!" Black Falcon:"And I have also lost my powers!"

  • This story would had been better if Luthor had used his power neutralizer on Wonder Woman. This would explain how Wonder Woman is captured and lead to some great dialogue. Wonder Woman:"You might as well surrender, Luthor;there's no escape!" Luthor:"That's right, Wonder Woman, there's no escape-for you!" Wonder Woman:"Great Hera! I've lost my Amazon powers! What did you do to me?!" Luthor:"Ive taken away your powers with my power neutralizer! From now on, you're no stronger than a normal woman!"

  • I will never understand the logic of villains in 70's cartoons.

Sinestro could take them out easily with his power-ring. Heck, all Giganta would have to do is just STEP ON THEM, and yet for reasons beyond any understanding or basic common sense they just follow them around on horses and leave their fate to chance.

    THINK!!

  • See my response to misfits4life1 above

  • This a random question, i'm not saying anything was copied, its all good enterainment.

But was out before or after the "Planet of the apes" movies?

  • after...

  • Way after

  • I loved this show then and it has a special place in my life. However, since we're making jest, I know Bogota' is the capital of Colombia and there's a Bogata in Texas (near the OK border,) but not in Africa.

It is also interesting that, despite all the happenings and action, Grundy appears that he had time to take a nap at the 5:02 mark.

  • true bat man and robin had no power but their utility belts could be neutralized by the ray still isn't bat man martial arts expert and as for bizarro and solomon grundy a piece of rope wouldn't hold them at all

  • Characters were simplified for specific TV audiences, the average of which probably couldn't process complex layers in a 22 minute cartoon episode.

  • Solivar & Apache Chief have the same voice.

  • Michael Rye who also did GL

  • In this episode, how do the villians capture Wonder Woman? When Wonder Woman is tied to a log with ordinary rope and is about to go over the falls, why doesn't she use her Amazon strength to break the ropes and save herself along with Superman and Black Falcon. Too bad these cartoons weren't based on "The New Original Wonder Woman"; if they were, then the villians could had removed Wonder Woman's magic belt and she would be helpless.

  • They mixed a lot of WW lore. One point of her legend states that if her bracelets are fused together she loses her strength. Another states that if she's bound by her own lasso she's rendered helpless. This was just a plot device to show kids that good is sometimes trumped by evil but good wins the day.

  • @taurusman26 That's true to a certain extent;"Superfriends" was based on the comic books, and there were many stories in the comic books in which Wonder Woman has either lost her Amazon powers because her hands are bound by a man or Wonder Woman is helpless because she is bound with her own magic lasso. But if you look closely at 6:11, Wonder Woman is tied to a log with ordinary ropes and her hands are not bound, so she should have no trouble getting out of this predicament.

  • Supervillain fact #1: Africa is more powerful than the United States. Check out Black Manta's statement at 1:10.

Supervillain fact #2: Kryptonite is in abundance; no need to use it sparingly!

Superhero fact #1: Robots and Kryptonian clones can be restrained by chandeliers.

  • isn't Green Lantern taking care of business in another galaxy? what is he doing on the Gorilla city palace?

  • One of many, many, MANY errors in animation of Hanna Barbera.

  • Am I the only one who was embarrassed when Superman got his ass kicked by a toy airplane? Sure, it was made of Kryptonite, but still... didn't he think to like, step a little to the right to let it pass right next to him, then grab a tree and swat the toy with it?

Still, the show is like a guilty pleasure... I can't stop watching it. XD

  • The kryptonite adds drama

  • @Mogkupokupo No we all are!!LOL And Batman and Robin are helpless because for some odd reason their belts can be neutralized!??! Maaaaaaaan whatever!

  • On the old "Batman" series, there was an episode in which The Joker neutralizes Batman and Robin's utility belts, then locks them in a huge smokestack and fills it with deadly gas. Though their utility belts are useless, batman and Robin put their backs together and climb out of the smokestack.

  • @Mogkupokupo Even if he couldn't, his teammates should have had his back. In fact, the only reason why there are any other heroes besides Superman on this team are specifically to deal with kryptonite-related crap. Superman is strong enough to do pretty much everything else.

  • @Mogkupokupo Superman does try to fly away from the toy airplane but since the plane is made of Kryptonite, and Kryptonite is Superman's most famous weakness, he becomes helpless and is captured. Wonder Woman wasn't much help;Wonder Woman could had rescued Superman by grabbing the plane with her magic lasso and crushing it with her Amazon strength.

  • @Mogkupokupo nope! What is funny is how Dany Dark''s voice sounds when he says "I've got to get away from it!!!"(with absolutely no hesitation) at least Superman isn't afraid to admit he's a coward to his weakness.

  • There's something funny about Sinestro and Black Manta on horseback.

Boy, those white equatorial Africans, eh?

These gorillas don't look like gorillas at all.

A gorilla CAUGHT a lightning bolt. This show is so insane it's awesome.

Being routed by Black Manta and Toyman; that's sad.

Bizzaro being defeated by a chandelier. That's even sadder.

You'd think tying up Bizarro and Grundy wouldn't do much.

  • Of course Batman never had powers, are you fucked?

  • batman never had powers?
