We have these things in California and I've been stung a few times over the years. One time I got stung in the stomach and it felt like I'd been shot. The sting area filled up with about a pound of fluid, it slowly got better, then a week later I got stung again in EXACTLY THE SAME SPOT. Not fun, and I'm almost positive that if it stung someone in the eye or an artery it could be life-threatening. The venom is that nasty.
