@TheEryk03 no i was just saying they should make the S-line for the A8. then youd have your car. take a bentley CFS v12 and throw it in a A8 with refined exterior. but no they do not currently have the S8.
@TheEryk03 if you want RWD get a BMW, if you want the better performance get the Audi its simple, Audi hasnt built a RWD car in a while and hopefully never will again
@mikethebeast1012 but BMW is ugly.... and rwd cars you can be as good performance as the AWD, it is best if the drive can be freely set the power transmitted to the wheels, eg 50:50, 40:60, 30:70, 20:80 and 100% to the rear wheels, that would be AWESOME!
@TheEryk03 yes but systems like that are FAR more expensive than what they use now, if they were to make a car like that they would take huge losses, it would be a terrible business move
@racewithferrari - why doesn't it work on dry roads? DTM - IMSA - SCCA - European Touring Cars were all race series Quattro dominated or did great in... it's been banned in most race series...where they raced on dry tracks. So how is it not good on dry roads?
@racewithferrari - you are very wrong. BMW (3 Series) was definitely in DTM when the Audi V8 won with quattro... it was later banned. The current DTM can't have awd - so the A4 is rear wheel drive... You can check the history of the rules.
@Amidat-- that were earlier times where complicated suspension, trac-control,lsd werent evolved properly. But now thing have changed Audi still use FWD platform to make quattro cars and thats really sucks if you want to have fun and race. For ex: new rs5 loses to m3 in comprasion test.
@racewithferrari - the m3 is more of a focused drivers car than the rs5 - that is true.... but Audi's win numerous comparisons of their own (including against BMW's)...
@racewithferrari actually you could not be more wrong, the RS5 is a far better performing car than the M3, it has more power, more torque, better handling, and consistently runs faster laptimes, read a review and you will find the same results. also the only Audis that use FWD based AWD are the smaller cars TT and A3, ALL the others use longitudinal torsion based systems. you clearly know very little about these cars
@racewithferrari wrong again AWD improves handling infinitely vs RWD, it allows turns at much higher speeds and to put the power to the ground quicker, this is simply the laws of physics, and to argue that would just be stupid
@mikethebeast1012 Are you being idiot or what? All Audis except(R8,Q7) are either FWD or AWD but no RWD that means they are based on FWD platform just like AWD SAAB and VOLVO.
Type "Volkswagen Group MLB platform" in google & click on wiki link.
@racewithferrari i agree they only make FWD or AWD these days, i also understand the mlb platform, it has nothing to do with FWD based, like i said the only current models that are FWD based are the TT and A3, the others have longitudinal motors and were designed from the ground up to be AWD, however for customer savings they offer FWD basically just cutting the back half of the system off. Quatro is the greatest and most successful AWD system in use today
@mikethebeast1012 Quattro is best for off-road or snow but not for track. For track you need purpose built RWD or rear biased AWD(like in R8). Thats what I am saying, for better time results get M3 instead of RS5.
@racewithferrari no you are wrong yet again, laptimes and reviews have the RS5 posting consistently faster times than the M3, because power is not wasted spinning your wheels like the M3, Quatro is not just great for off road but also the track its been proven for decades, you can continue making things up and posting them but the laws of physics can easily explain the unarguable advantage AWD has in ALL conditions
@mikethebeast1012 LMFAO...Quattro is just for rallying not to use on track. Just name me some world popular races where is AWD is accepted. AWDs can give head start but they ultimately lose it to RWDs.
Just go the google and type "m3 vs rs5 fastestlaps" and chose the first link.
@racewithferrari you just said it right there Quattro has been banned from multiple racing events because it gives such a HUGE advantage vs RWD, its just physics lol there is no argument its a very simple fact, also almost every review puts the RS5 ahead, there are not many posted times for the RS5 since its fairly new whereas the M3 has a ton of posted times while more times are posted it will be clear which car is faster
@racewithferrari actually Audi has far more trophy's under its belt than BMW, not only that but they are very successful in many forms of racing unlike BMW whos racing is very limited
@racewithferrari again just pure ignorance from you lol the haldex based system you refer to is only used on their small cars (TT and A3), EVERY other car including the A4 and up uses a longitudinal torsion system (with special exceptions like the R8) and has since the 80s, the haldex system you speak of came along long after Audi reinvented AWD
My dad made me obsessed with this marque. When I was growing up we had a 79 5000S, an 88 5000S, an 89 100S and a 90 100S. I love everything that Audi has done, with the exception of the gen 1 TT. I'd sell my soul for a Sport Quattro and RS5 if I had one...
I tried the RS5, great car. But the torque vectoring got a bit boring after a few hours. I wanted some more exciting handling. They should make a switch to lock it at 20:80 so you can drift a bit. Just saying.
@NorthwesternNL that would defeat the point of it, if you want to drift (and lose time off your laps) buy an M3, if you want a better performing car that wont slip buy the RS5
What is under the front of the car in the commercial at 3:22? Looks to me like some kind of winch attachment of some sort.
I think this ad is a little far-fetched.
Quattro may be excellent but maybe not excellent enough to propel a car up an icy ski jump.

AWD is better in all the departments except if you want to skid. The traction is so much, that you can't really get the car into trouble.

@Amidat because BMW isn't there in DTM. BMW would nail the Audi in every single competition.

@Amidat that wasnt my point, I meant that AWD in races is hopless apart from rally.
